Tattle-Tale Tuesday

Usually by this time of the year Mom has all her Christymas presents bought, or at least she knows what she is going to get for everyone. This year, nothing. She has no clue.

Then again, she is pretty good at coming up with ideas, so I know she will work it out. But in the meantime, I think it's funny.

Millie Monday

I'm resting up. It's been bizzy around here.Yesterday Mom watched Roger Federer defeat Rafael Nadal in the ATP World Tour final.
That was good.

Then she made some of her Red Velvet Cupcakes
for her friends Diana and Art who are visiting from California. Mom says they are really good. (Me, I prefer stinky goodness.)

Her quilt, Letters From Home, will be coming home today, from Washington state, and Houston Texas, where it has been traveling since January. Mom is very excited about that.

Mom talked to Monty's MomBean last night. They have been furry bizzy too. First the whole fambly went to Disney World, then everybody got sick (MomBean had bronk-eye-tis). Everybody is better now, Mooshie is walking, and guess what he loves more than anything?

(I'll give you a hint... it has four furry legs and it isn't a woofie.)

I wanted to pass this news along to you because I wanted you all to know they are all OK.

Secret Stash Sunday!

Mom has been cleaning, getting the house back to "normal." Yesterday she put away all these glasses and serving dishes (Mom used the crock pot to keep the gravy warm on Turkey Day.)As she was cleaning, lookit what she found: a squillion containers full of 'NIP! It's a secret 'Nip stash!I started having myself a 'Nip-fest right there on the dining room table after this picture was taken. Mom gave me some 'Nip to eat and then she put all the 'Nip in a special tin so we both know where to find it from now on.Heh.

Snoozy Saturday

It's been a hectic week and Mom says it isn't over yet. Our friend Rhette was here on Thanksgiving, and then Shari was visiting. It's been really great visiting with them. (I even let Shari give me pets and scritches.) Last night it was Mr Karate here. Mom and he were both hungry, but didn't want turkey, so Mom made baked pasta with four cheeses (Pasta ai Quattro Formaggi), and omigoodness, did it smell good! Mr Karate ate enough for four people!

Today is gonna be a snoozy day. Mom is gonna make a Gizzy quilt for a ginger boy, and tomorrow she is going to give the hot-as-hell-box a workout. She's gonna make some Red Velvet Cupcakes for her friends Diana and Art who will be visiting next week.

Oh! Mom's watching tennis, too!

Turkey Day Wrap Up

Oh boy! Did we have a good day yesterday! All the foods was delicious! Everybody had fun! This is Mr Karate, Rhette and Pip-pay, with PlusOne over on the right.

1. The foods were terrific!
2. The beans had a great time!
3. My pals, the guys named Pat, won their game yesterday.

1. The smoke detector went off after some stuff splattered in the hot-as-hell-box.
2. Auntie Karate cut herself while peeling the potatoes...
3. um...

Guess that means it was PERFECT!

I'm napping today, and spending lots of time getting scritches from Mom. Life is pretty really good.

Thankful Thursday

When Mom's fambly gathers round to have the turkey later today, they will each tell what they are thankful for. I am thankful for many things.

I am thankful to be here. To Malcolm, Jillian, Dan, Maggie, and cat lovers all over the world who helped with my bionic leg and helped save my life, thank you.

I am thankful for Mom, for adopting me and giving me a terrific home. I don't sit in her lap, I don't let her carry me around, I don't sleep next to her at night, and I don't greet her at the door, but she loves me anyway.

If you are reading this blog, thank you. I am thankful for your time and attention.

If you bought a Gizzy Quilt, thank you. Mom says you helped get her back into a creative groove that has enriched her life.

Almost Wordless Wednesday

This damn bird is taking over. Mom says he'll soon be swimming in a salt water bath of vegies and spices.

Tattle-Tale Tuesday

Mim-may and Pip-pay came over for dinner last night and brought Missy-the-woofie with them. They also had two funny gadgets. Mom and Mim-may fussed over them all evening.
I don't understand what the fuss was all about. Mom reads anything and everything with words on it. I dunno what's so different about this.

Millie Monday

This bunch of plates and bowls is another item on Mom's list for the big Turkey Day. Mom took them all out, added these little sticky notes, then took the notes off and put the dishes in the dishwasher.

I'm telling you beans are weird!

Strange Sunday

Yesterday Mom went out and bought a gravy boat. I don't know much about boats, but I think a boat made out of gravy is a bad idea. We'll have to see how this turns out.

I'll be watching. You can bet on it.

Making a List...

Mom got up early this morning, and made a list. She checked it twice, then went food hunting. She brought back TONS of stuff.

Then she got to work in the kitchen. First, she burned peppers.
She peeled and sliced apples.
She measured out sugar, raisins, orange peel and cranberries and put them in this bowl.The hot-as-hell-box is gonna get a workout today!

But I am happy because among all the things she brought home, she brought me this:

Finally Friday

Mom is excited it's Friday. She is gonna get stuff ready for Turkey Day next week, and she's thinking about her Christymas list. We are going to participate in this year's Secret Paw! I'm excited about that too!

Thinking Thursday

I haven't been posing so much for Mom lately. She's been trying to tippy-tap, and I've taken to napping on the pile of pillows in the computer room when she does it.

Mom's thinking about Turkey Day. Here's the full and complete list:

• Mim-may is gonna bring TWO turkeys and she's gonna make the stuffing and the gravy!
• Pip-pay is gonna make an apple pie and bring coffee
• Auntie Karate is gonna bring green beans and milk for PlusOne
• PlusOne is gonna bake a cake
• Mr Big is gonna eat Ham.
• Mr Karate is gonna bring potatoes and carrots
• Our friend Rhette is gonna bring wine
• Mom is gonna make the cranberry sauce, cook the turkeys and the vegies (acorn squash, carrots, green beans, mashed potatoes.)

• The gals do all the cooking and getting ready.
• The guys do all the clean up when it's over.
• Everybody is gonna watch my pals, the guys named Pat on tv.

Ok Mom, thinking over, now I need some scritches behind my left ear...

Wordy Wednesday

Mom did her books last night and paid Mr Bills. There are lots of Mr Bill. There's a Mr Bill for the heating monster, one for the electricity, one for internet, one for the metal masheen... and so many more. I didn't know there were that many Mr Bills. Mom says there is even a Mr Bill for Christymas, which will be coming soon!

Wowza! Christymas! I can't wait for the Christymas tree!

Mom says Turkey Day is coming first, though, and it's NEXT WEEK! Mom is cooking the big bird (can I tell you again how glad I am a CAT?), Pip-pay will make his apple pie and PlusOne is baking a cake! Mom's already starting to gather her recipes and make lists.

She says she's gonna clean the house this weekend, and drag the rug sucking monster around.

Lucky me.

Tuxie Tattle Tale Tuesday

Mom was tippy tapping last night, and she was feeling pretty good, until she moved the laptop screen a bit. It didn't go as far as she wanted, so she pulled the whole laptop a bit closer to her, forgetting that the laptop doesn't run at all without the cord plugged in.

Yup, you guessed it. The cord fell out, and the screen went BLACK!

Mom said all the words on the bad werds list!!! She was jumping around, too, and then she started laughing and laughing.

She fixed the laptop and got it going again. She only lost a couple of paragraphs, but she put them back.

I thought it was pretty funny, but I gotta say it again... I'm so glad I'm a cat!

The best time to decide to change your mind about the food your Mom is giving you is right after she has bought a case of it.

The Metal Masheen

Dear Megan,

Mom -really- loves her new metal masheen.

She likes that it is quiet, that the lights turn on by themselves when it gets dark, and she really likes that it doesn't eat a lot of gas. Whenever she gets in, she usually opens the sunroof, as you can see.Yup, the sunroof is open. (Mom forgot to close it!) And yup, that is frost. Which means the temperature went down to freezing last night.
Don't think she'll make that mistake again!

Snoozy Saturday

Mom came home Friday night and was in bed at 9 PM. That's like, wicked early for her. She got up kinda woozy and then got sidetracked with one thing and another, and even though she took a picture of me this morning, she forgot (gasp!) to put up my blog until now!

Anyway, it was sunny and warm here. Mom went food hunting, did the washing machine shuffle, and changed the sheets on her bed. She even put her garden to bed, although I do not know what that means. She's got all her errands done (except the metal masheen needs to be gassed up), so we will have lots of time for scritches later.

Formerly Feral Friday

Ah, to be inside on a morning when it is just below freezing out... To be eating breakfast, and to have both stinky goodness and crunchies...

I am so glad I am formerly feral.

In The Dark

Last night, after dinner, Mom was sewing on a quilt, and I was napping nearby. We were watching the National Geographic channel. All of a sudden we heard a loud POP and the tv and all the lights went out!

It was completely pitch black! Now, you know we are in a city. There are streetlights outside that shine in the house, so even when all our lights are out, Mom can still see when she walks around at night. It is never completely dark at night.

But this was different. There were no lights outside in any other houses in the neighborhood, and the streetlights were out too! It was totally, totally black! Mom tucked her needle in the quilt and set it aside. Then she got up and felt her way to the bookcase where she keeps a flashlight. She checked outside, and the entire street had no power! So she came back inside and lit a couple of candles.

After about six or seven minutes, the lights came back on. It took a few minutes for the cable box to start working again, but eventually it did, and we continued to watch Great Migrations, which was -seriously- cool!

Mom finished her quilt. You can see it at her quilting blog. Now she says she is gonna spend her evening tippy-tapping.

I, of course, will spend my evenings nearby, interrupting her at regular intervals to make sure I get enough scritches so her stress level stays nice and low.

It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it. I'm so glad I'm a cat.

Here's the tree across the street. A year ago it didn't have as many leafs. That's not what I to tattle about today.

Mom has to go to the tooth-v-e-t today to get an old filling replaced. She says going to the tooth-v-e-t is her least favorite thing ever.

Me? I'll be in the heated cat cup, staying warm!

Millie Monday

It's getting colder out, the leaves are blowing off the trees, it gets dark early. That means winter is coming. The weather guys said we might have a little snish blowing through later today.

Glad I have lots of nice warm snuggly places to nap!Mom's finishing up a couple of quilts. One with ninety-six thousand four hundred eighty-three letters, (Mom says there are only 81) and the Fox. (you can see them at her quilting blog) After that she says she's gonna tippy-tap, tippy-tap, tippy-tap.

Good for her! I'll watch, and make sure to step in and get her to give me my scritches regularly, because we all know she (like all beans) needs all the stress relief only a cat can provide.

I'm so glad I'm a cat!

Grand Master Champion: Mr Karate

Mr Karate was in a martial arts tournament yesterday, and won three trophies!He won First Place in his division in Sparring, First Place in his division in Forms and Grand Master Champion in Forms. (All the first place winners in the Forms category competed against each other for the Grand Master title.) Mr Karate won the Grand Master award by a unanimous vote from the six judges!

I am, like, SO wicked proud of him!

Finally Friday

Mom says she'd like to spend the -entire- day napping next to me on the cat hammock.

I'm pretty sure she's lost her mind, because we all know two things.

One: she wouldn't fit.

Two: I'd go find someplace else to nap.

I'm so glad I'm a cat.

Millie Monday

Mom dragged the rug sucking monster around yesterday. She was nice enough to close the door so I could nap in peace, and she didn't bother me. That was good.

We watched my pals, the guys named Pat, beat the Vikings. That was good too.

We watched A Study in Pink on Masterpiece Mystery. That was VERY good.

Mom made White Bean Chicken Chili. She said it was good, but I didn't eat any.

I got lots of scritches. That was the best!
