Fans
Mom was at Quilted Threads this past weekend, when a lady came up to her and asked, "Excuse me, are you Millie's Mom?"
Mom has never heard that before, and it really made her smile.
It made me smile too. OK, it made me purr.
(This is Mom with our new friend Carol.)

Friendly Friday
One of Mom's fellow day-hunters will be implementing the M-word, and Mom offered to give her some of the giant plastic bins left over from our move last year. Mom didn't need them and was more than happy to give them to somebody who would use them.
Mom was very touched when this thank-you card and gift was left on her desk a few days later.
Isn't is CUTE? Isn't it ADORABLE! It almost looks like ME!
It is a holder for Mom's iPhone. Mom LOVES it and thinks it is very cool.

Not Quite Wordless Wednesday
This is my woofie friend Bella.
This is my friend Betty.
This is my friend Shari.
This is the Lion of the University City Library. I think his name is Leo.
This is Chris. She quilts Mom's quilts.
This is Mom and I leaning against the Gateway Arch.
I have made a lot of friends this trip and have had a wonderful time. We are on our way back to New Hampster. I am quite looking forward to getting out of my traveling outfit.

Wordy Wednesday!
Lookit! My friend Miles is visiting (or as he says, "bisiting.")
Miles Meezer is one of my oldest and dearest furriends. He has been traveling all over by riding with the man in the bloo shorts's truck. Here we are talking about old times, like the Road Trip for Romance way way back in the fall of 2007!
Miles is enjoying seeing all the quilts around here, and he is helping me fur them all up.

Thursday
Mom and I pride ourselves in posting only current pictures. We don't go back to the photo album unless the occasion calls for it. Mom took this photo of me just a few minutes ago as we were preparing this blog post.
It was a rough time last night. Mr Karate called. One of his very best friends had hurt his feelings and he called Mom to talk about it. Mom know the friend very well, and got very upset. Mr Karate was happy to know he had Mom's support. Mom said, "Excuse me? I am ALWAYS in your corner." It's funny. Mr Karate once said of Mom, "Mom, you are only five feet tall, but when you're mad you're a lot bigger." Heh.
Anyway, here is the standard outside shot.
The ten day forecast shows temperatures well above freezing, with a few sunny warm days coming up. The snow will go away. The only question is, when?

Feline Friday
After Mom's silly photo of me yesterday, I think we can all agree THIS photo is much better!
Mom doesn't like it when I spill the beans, but hey, I'm a cat and I'llspill knock over any beans I choose. (Figuratively speaking, of course.) Anyways, Mom's big wordy project is why I haven't been visiting many blogs and leaving comments. Please accept my humble apologies, but in this case, I'm on Mom's side. I really want her to get this wordy project done for so many reasons, I can't list them all here. Suffice it to say she wants to let the world know how important cats are, and how we small furry four pawed creatures make the world a better place.

Positive Vibes Needed
Mom's an expert at lots of stuff, and there are very few people on the planet she would do ANYTHING for, but one of those people who is not related is having a "procedure" today and we would like to ask you to keep this wonderful lady in your thoughts and prayers.
This lady is going to a special hospital to have some radioactive pellets inserted in a tumor behind one of her eyes. That this lady is an artist who is very generous with her time, knowledge and creativity makes the "procedure" all the more terrifying.
Please send your thoughts to "W" today for Mom and me. I've got my purr-er on overdrive for "W."
Thank you,
your friend,
Millie

Truthful Thursday
Thank you all for remembering my Rescue-versary. Mom and I knew the day was coming, but we both forgot to post about it. I am so happy it turned out to be a Very Good Day because it could so easily have been my Very Last Day. The stars were all aligned that day. Malcolm rescued me, and everybody helped. There are lots of Good Folks in the world.
Getting back to Monday's post about Mom making the bed, Mom likes to make the bed for a couple of reasons. First, when you come to visit, you see the bed from the door when you enter. Mom doesn't want visitors to see a sloppy bed. Secondly, Mom likes the blankets a certain way when she gets into bed at night, and if it hasn't been made in the morning, Mom has to do a lot of rearranging, and she doesn't like that. But the biggest reason Mom likes to make the bed is to show off the fantastic quilt her friends Julie and Chris made for her with her leftover bits from other quilts.

Not a Gizzy
In yesterday's post, I was lying one of our quilts.
In the comments, Scooby, Shaggy and Scout said it was a Gizzy Quilt, but it's not. It's a Julie quilt. About a year or so ago Mom and her friend Julie swapped quilts. Mom got this quilt, called Obsolescence ("O" for short.)

As you can see, Mom and I both love it.
(Mom doesn't make the Gizzy quilts any more.)

Millie Monday
I'm resting up. It's been bizzy around here.
Yesterday Mom watched Roger Federer defeat Rafael Nadal in the ATP World Tour final.
That was good.
Then she made some of her Red Velvet Cupcakes
for her friends Diana and Art who are visiting from California. Mom says they are really good. (Me, I prefer stinky goodness.)
Her quilt, Letters From Home, will be coming home today, from Washington state, and Houston Texas, where it has been traveling since January. Mom is very excited about that.
Mom talked to Monty's MomBean last night. They have been furry bizzy too. First the whole fambly went to Disney World, then everybody got sick (MomBean had bronk-eye-tis). Everybody is better now, Mooshie is walking, and guess what he loves more than anything?
(I'll give you a hint... it has four furry legs and it isn't a woofie.)
I wanted to pass this news along to you because I wanted you all to know they are all OK.
Purrs!

Snoozy Saturday
It's been a hectic week and Mom says it isn't over yet. Our friend Rhette was here on Thanksgiving, and then Shari was visiting. It's been really great visiting with them. (I even let Shari give me pets and scritches.)
Last night it was Mr Karate here. Mom and he were both hungry, but didn't want turkey, so Mom made baked pasta with four cheeses (Pasta ai Quattro Formaggi), and omigoodness, did it smell good! Mr Karate ate enough for four people!
Today is gonna be a snoozy day. Mom is gonna make a Gizzy quilt for a ginger boy, and tomorrow she is going to give the hot-as-hell-box a workout. She's gonna make some Red Velvet Cupcakes for her friends Diana and Art who will be visiting next week.
Oh! Mom's watching tennis, too!

Monday Funday
Mr Karate gave Mom this penguin shaped thing. Mom says it's good for pancakes too, but she wanted an egg for breakfast yesterday, so here is a penguin shaped egg. Go figure.
But that wasn't the most unusual thing that happened. This is.
This is our friend Red. Mom says Red is a Geek of the Absolute Highest Order and that seeing her do this (she was kneading bread) is Very, Very Unusual, and that everybody who knows her is gonna fall down and faint when they see this picture. Red says it might ruin her reputation.
Hey, she gives me treats and pets me, I think that makes her sixty-three kinds of Awesome. Mom thinks Red is nine hundred sixty-three kinds of awesome no matter what.
That's what's nice about friends.

Wordy Wednesday
I can still see dried leafs stuck to the tree across the street. ML & KC, dear friends, you are not the winners of the Last Leaf Falls Contest.
I am really getting tired of this tree. I have decided that unless the leafs GO AWAY, we will only post pictures of the tree on December 3, 5, 7 & 16, the last dates chosen as possible Last Leaf Dates.
This is Mom and her friend, D. They have been email pals for about ten years; have spent the last couple of days together and had a blast. Yesterday they went for a walk at The Mall and then went to the store that sells the Evil Little Chocolates that DKM and others have raved about. They've been yakking about quilts and stuff. Having a grand time. Today Mom's going to show D & A her day hunting spots, and then they will be flying home to Catifornia.
Finally I can have my own Mom all to myself. Company is nice, but I like my regular routine.

Tattle Tail Tuesday
Our tree is still holding on to some dried up leafs. Mr Karate volunteered to climb the tree and rip them off. I do not know why Mom discouraged him. I thought it was an excellent idea.
A and I have become friends, sort of. I'll play with him, and I let him give me a few pets, but I'm not gonna sit next to him.
Here Mr Karate is showing D some neat stuff on his latest gadget. There was lots of spaghetti and meatballs and pork. There was also a salad named Caesar (not from a bag) and some cake that disappeared pretty quick. Everybody had a good time.

Mmm Mmm Monday
First, here is the "famous tree". When D and A arrived last night, the first thing D asked was "Where is the famous tree?" (She couldn't see it because, you know, it was dark...)
Well this is the tree, and it has no fewer leaves on it than it did yesterday. Megan-from-Australia, I regret to inform you that you are not the winner of the Last Leaf Falls Contest.
There is a big fambly dinner planned for tonight. There is already cake in the oven, and this...
will be simmering on the hot-as-hell box later today.
I can't wait.

Sunday Funday!
WOW! It looked like the strong winds knocked the last leafs off the tree yesterday! Mom walked over and took a closer look to check for sure. But no.
There are still dried up dead leafs clinging to their branches of the tree. There are several clumps of them, and Mom has highlighted two in this picture. In this detail photo below (which you can click to biggify), you can see several of them.
Momsbusy - you did not win the Last Leaf Falls Contest.
The wind was good to blow many leafs away, but many houses in New Hampster do not have electricity because of it. Mom went food hunting yesterday afternoon to find the store completely dark! She had to drive across town to another store.
Why is today Sunday Funday? Mom's very first internet friend, a lady she has been emailing now for almost ten years, is coming to New Hampster to visit. This will be the second time they see each other in person! (First was when Mom and Mim-May visited Mr Photographer & fam about five years ago.)
"D" and her husband "A" are from Catifornia and spent Turkey Day in NYC with their daughters. Today they take the train to Beantown, where they will get a bus here. Mom will pick them up and bring them over to meet me, and then bring them to their hotel. D and A will be visiting for a couple of days. There is a big fambly dinner scheduled for Monday Night.
Now you know why Mom has been cleaning the house like crazy!
Me, I'm just catching up on my Beauty Sleep!

Saturday Cat-NIP-turday
Yesterday I got a little package in the mail from my dear friends, Skeeter, LC & Ayla and their Big Thing. They had read about how Mom had planted a whole lotta stupid Basil, but no 'Nip. So they sent me some!
This is the letter I got with my 'Nip:
Isn't that sweet?
So is the 'Nip, I gotta tell ya. I sniffed it, ate it, and rolled around in it.
This morning, Mom got up real early and went out. When she came back, she had lots of this junky stupid stuff:

But she -also- bought this:
My very own pot of 'Nip. Mom says it will grow real big, and I can have 'Nip leafs whenever I want.
I guess Mom is pretty cool after all!

Awards Day
My sweetheart Monty Q, gave me this lovely award:
I am flattered that I make his day. He makes mine every day! I know I have to award another cat, but I can't just select a few. Every cat who is happy with the Gizzy Quilt that Mom has made for them makes my day. Like Rocky, who was given a Gizzy Quilt by Lilly Lu & Mu Shue, and Miss Peach, who was given a Gizzy by Junior.
Mickey and Skeeter & LC gave me this award:

Thanks so much!
Here are the rules for the Thinking Blogger award:
1. You must write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think.
2. Acknowledge this post.
3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote.
4. Go tell your humans to fork over the treats!
I tag:
1. Faz, who has a very interesting story on her blog.
2. Samantha & Tigger, who always give me something to think about.
3. Poppy Q, my pal from New Zealand, is one of the most thoughtful cats on the blogosphere.
4. Diva Kitty, who shows pictures of weird (i think) bean foods.
5. Dragonheart & Merlin, because I would be totally ignorant about Sphynx cats were it not for them.

Wannabe
OK, so you all know I think Jasmine can be kind of a piss-pot. I mean, she doesn't want to play, but there is no other cat around for me to cuddle with, so I really want her to like me. It would be nice to be able to walk around the house without having her hiss at me whenever she sees me. This is kinda how it looks whenever we are in the same room together:

But it's not always like that:
See, she's coming around. I bet she'll like me one of these days. I want us to be friends.
Mom's cut up all the strips into blocks and has started designing the Holiday Gizzys. You can check it out over at Bizzy for Gizzy.

But it's not always like that:~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've got a real big anniversary coming up on Wednesday. It's not my birthday or my gotcha-versary or anything like that. It's not exactly something to celebrate. Lotsa beans and cats know what day it is and why it was such a Big Deal. And it was a Big Deal. I'll have a post about it then.Mom's cut up all the strips into blocks and has started designing the Holiday Gizzys. You can check it out over at Bizzy for Gizzy.
