I had to inspect it very carefully.
Ok, looks good so far.
Mom really likes that the lights are already on the tree so she doesn't have to wrestle with them.
Here it is, all decorated. Mom is very happy.
Me too.
Here's the tree across the street. A year ago it didn't have as many leafs. That's not what I to tattle about today.
Any designer who works primarily with black and white has my vote!
A few days ago somebody asked what would happen if the leafs fell after December 16. Mom screwed up my answer last Friday. She wrote "if they fall before Dec 16, oh well." I meant for her to say "if the leafs fall after Dec 16, oh, well." Beans are so inferior to Cats. My apologies, dear friends.
I've been continuing to inspect the Christymas decorations. Mom didn 't make much progress yesterday, but we did get my Secret Paws package ready. It will go out to the man in the bloo shorts today. In the meantime, I get to nap in the tree without her having a complete coronary.
Heh.
Sea Three Pee O, there are still leafs stuck to this tree. You will not win the Last Leaf Falls Contest.
Here is the tree today. It -appears- to have lost some leafs, but there is still a very stubborn bunch clinging to some of the higher branches, as you can see in the detailed photo below:
So, the contest continues. Nobody picked today, so while we have no winner, we do not have a loser.
It's raining today, and might be a bit windy. Maybe the wind will knock off all the last leafs. Several of Mom's friends and fambly members who were visiting over the Turkey Day Holiday said Mom should just "call it" and decide the contest was over. Mom and I feel that Fair is Fair, so we will continue the contest until the last leaf really does fall or until December 16.
Our tree is still holding on to some dried up leafs. Mr Karate volunteered to climb the tree and rip them off. I do not know why Mom discouraged him. I thought it was an excellent idea.
A and I have become friends, sort of. I'll play with him, and I let him give me a few pets, but I'm not gonna sit next to him.
Here Mr Karate is showing D some neat stuff on his latest gadget. There was lots of spaghetti and meatballs and pork. There was also a salad named Caesar (not from a bag) and some cake that disappeared pretty quick. Everybody had a good time.
There is a big fambly dinner planned for tonight. There is already cake in the oven, and this...
will be simmering on the hot-as-hell box later today.
There are still dried up dead leafs clinging to their branches of the tree. There are several clumps of them, and Mom has highlighted two in this picture. In this detail photo below (which you can click to biggify), you can see several of them.
The wind was good to blow many leafs away, but many houses in New Hampster do not have electricity because of it. Mom went food hunting yesterday afternoon to find the store completely dark! She had to drive across town to another store.
Me, I'm just catching up on my Beauty Sleep!
It is so windy, the Santa and Snowman decorations that usually stand on either side of the front door of this house got blown right over.
So I'm staying warm inside and I have a good napping spot.
Mom's gonna clean the house today, and that means the rug-sucking monster will be making an appearance. She's also working of a few Gizzy Quilts...
Mom got a new pair of glasses. She is wicked happy because she can see better with them. My duties as Quality Assurance Inspector are not limited to the quilts she makes. Everything that comes in here needs inspection.
These passed. (Did you know Mom's an eyeglass snob? She really likes neat glasses frames. She isn't a spiffy dresser, but she thinks glasses are like jewelry you wear every day.)
Mom goes day hunting today after a week of stay-cation. She says she's gonna be wicked busy because she has to hunt the ever elusive Month End before Turkey Day. Then the Turkey Day festivities will be here, and we'll have "Company."
Good thing I don't have to do any of that "werk."
That tree is being very stubborn. Mom says it is a true New Englander; determined, stubborn and independent.
If the leafs do NOT fall off the tree before December 16, then Scooby, Shaggy & Scout will be declared the winners.
but I'm not telling! I'm keeping this secret!
When Mom works in the Sewing Room, I love to make her think.
This is my bionic leg sticking out from under the bureau. What do you think?
Lookit our tree across the street. It doesn't have very many leafs left, but some are still hanging on. Cory & Camie's Kitties, you will not be the winners of the Last Leaf Contest.
My Pip-pay is having surgery today. He needs a new hip, and his heart isn't so good. His doctors are gonna be very careful, but I would appreciate your thoughts and purrs. I really like Pip-pay, and everybody in the family loves him. Mom is gonna be with Mim-may all day. I'm gonna have my purr-er working overtime all day long. Any cats who want to teleport over and purr with me are most welcome.
Angel & Kirby, you will not be the winners.
