Thinking Thursday

I love having great places to nap, like this wing chair in Mom's sewing studio. It's always nice and warm. It's also a great place for a baff.

Yes, I know it's "bath" but "baff" sounds funner.

Thinking Thursday

I am thinking.

 I like the front porch.

I like it a lot.

It's a good place for thinking.

And for napping.

Thinking Thursday

By now you have probably heard that Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson have completed their free-climb ascent of the Dawn Wall on El Capitan in Yosemite National Park. It was an amazing feat.

Mom has actually been to Yosemite, and seen El Cap. She says you stand in El Cap meadow, about a half a mile away from it, and you almost fall over backwards when you lean your head back to look at the top.

Mom's brother Mr Photographer has climbed "El Cap" over two dozen times so Mom and I already knew what was so special about the climb. We didn't need anybody to explain the terms "pitch," "crux," "belay," "jumar," or "portaledge." We know all about the difference between "nuts" and "bolts" and we actually know what "5.12c" means.

I am a Cat. I am an expert at climbing anything, but I salute Tommy and Kevin.  Congrats, guys!

Thinking Thursday

I am thinking.

I am thinking that it is nice to have some time to think, and that I don't have to tell the world what I am thinking about.

I am thinking it is fun to pretend to be thinking.

Thinking Thursday

My Mom is silly. I think EVERY day, not just on Thursdays, so please don't worry that I only do my thinking on Thursdays. She just needs something to put up there, and the word "thinking" starts with "th" and so does the word "Thursday."

Anyway. I have been continuing my investigations throughout the house. Yesterday Mom came home and found many of the cabinets and drawers open.  Yes, that was me. I get into as many cabinets and closets as I can to check out what's going on.

For instance, Mom has been shopping at that big box hardware store. Not at the actual store, mind you. Their online version. Mom chooses what she wants, checks the little boxes and then when she goes to the real store later, they will have it all ready and waiting for her. I know this because an electric guy will be coming on Saturday to replace two light fixtures in the kitchen, and she needed to buy the second one before he got here.

Mom has also ordered a new staple gun to replace the one that isn't working. You can read about that fiasco on her quilting blog.

Me, I'm gonna go take a nap.

Thinking Thursday

I'm thinking I had something to say in today's post, but I forgot what it was.

Oh yeah. Mom's sewing room is filling up with boxes.

Thinking Thursday

OK, I will come clean. I haven't been posing much lately. I've been camped out in very cool places and Mom hasn't been getting many photos. This one was taken about three weeks ago before Mom rearranged all her quilts on the walls around here.

I'm fine, and so's Mom.

Thinking Thursday

I was just thinking...

I love all levels of my kitty condo.

I liked Sausage (a LOT more than Scott) and thought his tattoo was better. (Mom says NO, she will NEVER get a tattoo. She just likes watching artists compete.)

I will miss Mr Selfridge, and Call the Midwife.

The French Open starts on Sunday. That means Casa Millie will be All Tennis All the Time for the next couple of weeks. Can Rafa do it again?

Mom has a couple of quilts that need the binding sewn on. It will make her sit down to watch the tennis while she does it, and I will be able to sit close by also. It's a win-win-win situation.

Life is good.

Thinking Thursday

Mom's going to school today. She has to leave really really early, and go for a long drive to take a class on how to put numbers on paper.  She's going with a co-day-hunter and says they will be doing a lot of thinking.

Good for her.  I'm gonna take a nap.  Maybe a few naps.

I Am A Thinking Cat

I really am a thinking cat. I think a lot. I think about how much Mom likes it when I sleep next to her at night (like I did last night). I think about how nice it is to get my favorite Catnip-flavored Temptations treats at treat time every night. I think about  how nice and warm it is inside and how lucky I am to have a nice warm furrever home.
I think about how lucky I am to have a terrific Mom who figured out how to make me happy and be patient while I learned to be comfortable around peoples.  Mom didn't need anybody like Jackson Galaxy to tell her how to act around me, and how to make me feel good. Jackson Galaxy is that guy from My Cat From Hell on Animal Planet. Mom and I watch the show together, and WOW! I knew it before, but lots of peoples are really stupid when it comes to how to live with a cat.

I think this Jackson guy is pretty cool, even if he does look a little weird.

OK, that's enough thinking for one day. I'm gonna go take a nap.

Where am I?You didn't really think I'd give up eating, did you?because, you know, that would be dumb.

Thinking Thursday

Mom says her day hunting gig got three new servants yesterday. They also got a lot of abc's. Mom says they got a SAN and NAS and three ESX's a GIG switch and a bunch of other stupid junk. Mom says the Yoop-E-Ess is getting a workout. Mom's been installing the new Office all over the place (which sounds really stupid to me) and she's talking about upgrading the stuff that cooks the books.

Mom's been doing so much thinking, and she's been so busy lately, that I'm thinking she needs to lie down next to me and nap.

I think thinking is overrated. That's what I think.

Thinking Thursday

I'm thinking.

Really.

(Noela, Queen Munchkin, Yoda, there is still snow out back.)

Thinking Thursday

I'm thinking I am very tired of snow. Meerkat, I'm pretty sure that when the sun comes up, there's gonna still be snow on the ground.Bummer.

Thinking Thursday

We're supposed to have a little bit of snow today. Supposed to have between 2 - 4" (5 - 10 cm).

What did we get? 7" (17.78cm).

And if that wasn't bad enough, Roger Federer lost in Australia.

Thinking Thursday

I haven't been posing so much for Mom lately. She's been trying to tippy-tap, and I've taken to napping on the pile of pillows in the computer room when she does it.

Mom's thinking about Turkey Day. Here's the full and complete list:

  • Mim-may is gonna bring TWO turkeys and she's gonna make the stuffing and the gravy!
  • Pip-pay is gonna make an apple pie and bring coffee
  • Auntie Karate is gonna bring green beans and milk for PlusOne
  • PlusOne is gonna bake a cake
  • Mr Big is gonna eat Ham.
  • Mr Karate is gonna bring potatoes and carrots
  • Our friend Rhette is gonna bring wine
  • Mom is gonna make the cranberry sauce, cook the turkeys and the vegies (acorn squash, carrots, green beans, mashed potatoes.)

  • The gals do all the cooking and getting ready.
  • The guys do all the clean up when it's over.
  • Everybody is gonna watch my pals, the guys named Pat on tv.

Ok Mom, thinking over, now I need some scritches behind my left ear...

Thinking Thursday

Here is today's picture of our tree with its stubborn leafs. Rusty and Deb, Boo-bah, you have not won the Last Leaf Falls Contest. Mom says a brisk wind would probably knock those last leafs down, but no such wind is forecast.
When Mom works in the Sewing Room, I love to make her think. This is my bionic leg sticking out from under the bureau. What do you think?

(I think Mr Tigger and Socks should get their furry butts HOME!)

Thursday Thirteen - Just Thinking

I was just thinking:

1. My Gizzy quilt is pink; Jasmine's is turquoise. What color would a Gizzy quilt be if Mom had made a Bizzy for Gizzy quilt for Gizzy?
2. Mom is taking two hole weeks vacation starting next week.
3. Why would anybody want something with a hole in it already?
4. Mom put noisy white boxes in windows in her bedroom and the sewing room. When they are making noise, she closes the door to those rooms.
5. I do not like being in a room, no matter how big, when the door is closed and I can't get out.
6. There is a birdhouse hanging on the side porch. I like watching the birds fly to it. They don't like it when I watch them. Why is that?
7. Mom found this quote: "How you behave towards cats here below determines your status in Heaven." Sounds right to me. If it's true, Malcolm ain't got no problems.
8. What's Heaven?
9. I have never seen it rain cats and dogs.
10. I don't think I'd like it.
11. Sometimes when Mom pets me, she touches my legs, my feet or my belly. It kinda freaks me out a little bit, and I jump away. But I always come right back for more pets and scritches.
12. Sometimes I forget to jump away.
13. Mom still says whoever orders (and pays) for the 100th Bizzy for Gizzy Quilt will get it for free. She says the Holiday Gizzys won't count. We're up around 80-something, for those of you keeping track.
