Tuxie Tuesday

This is the chair where Mom usually dumps her stuff when she gets home, so that's why you haven't seen pictures of me in it.

Last night I was napping, minding my own business, when Mom approached with a bag full of quilts she will bring to a meeting later today.  I was forced to tell her to put her stuff someplace else.

I mean, sheesh! I was napping, for heaven's sake!

It was warm yesterday, and it rained most of the night, but there is still snow out there. I am terribly sorry Poppy Q and KQ Sue, but you will not be the winners of the When When Contest.

It will be When soon, but when?

Sunny Sunday

It's going to be a gorgeously sunny day! The temps will get up to 55F (12.7C) today.

Nobody guessed this date for the When When Contest, but we will have a winner soon. How soon? We'll all have to keep watching to find out. The weather guys have predicted five days with high temps above 54F and lows no lower than 32C (0F).  Stay tuned.

Me? I'm just waking up, but I'm going to stay in my tent for a while longer, remembering the lovely time I had with my sweetie, Monty Q, last night as we celebrated my birthday.

Finally Friday

Another sunny day, but there is still snow.

I am so sorry, Derby and Ducky, but you are not the winners of the When When Contest.

I'm getting my beauty rest, because tomorrow is a special day for me.

Lookit how much the snow is melting.

We had a frost overnight, but no snow.

We still have enough of that. I am sorry, but Mr HB White, and Mr OB Kitty, neither of you has won the When When Contest.

It is supposed to be 52F (11.11C) and sunny all day today. It is supposed to be 63F (17C) on Tuesday. Do you think the snow will last that long?

Yucky Monday

JJ, I am sorry, but instead of the snow going away, we got a little bit overnight and as you can see there is still snow on the ground. You are not this year's winner of the When When Contest.

Mom cleaned the house yesterday, which included dragging the rug sucking monster in all the rooms. It looks nice in here, I have to say. She hasn't been "motivated" most of the winter, and now she is happy. She finished a nifty black-and-white quilt she's been working on, and that makes her feel good.

It ought to. It is made of MY COLORS! It only took her how many years to make a quilt inspired by my furs (and Gizzy and Jasmine's)?  Anyways, after she finishes a quilt she always cleans the house. 

I am celebrating by camping out in the nifty tent she made for me.

Sloppy Sunday

It's been raining all night, and a lot of the snow has melted. The When When Contest is on in earnest.

There are a few small piles of snow up that side street, but the one we are really watching is this one, on the other side of the fence. 

This is the pile of snow that will determine the winner.  The temperature is supposed to stay above freezing for the next five days and nights.

I have rediscovered my tent.

Thursday

Mom has a cold. She is honking and sneezing. It's pretty funny actually, but she doesn't seem to think so.

This is what it looks like outside today. Mom has been taking these pictures through the window because it's been so cold. (It was 12C when Mom took the photo. That's -11.11C for my Aussie pals.) That's why there are some funny reflections in the photos. Mom says when the weather warms up like it is supposed to, she will open the window to take pictures (like she has done in the past.)

Anyway, as anycat can plainly see, there is still snow out there. It is supposed to get warmer today and then sunny, and stay warm for the next couple of days, and we should also have some rain. Mom and I are tired of the snow and want it to melt ASAP. We'll see!

When Mom finished one project, she moves on to another. I am napping on the backing for a blue quilt she is making for our friend, R. Of course, it is my perogative to nap wherever I choose.

Yesterday Mom took the day off from her day hunting gig and took Mim-may to the Portland Museum of Art to see their Biennial Show.They had a good day. Mom says they had awesome real live dead fish for lunch at Nara Sushi.

Me? I stayed home and napped in the sun.

Mother Nature played a good trick on us yesterday. It was a better prank than I could have thought up on my own. We did not get as much snow as we could have, and it is melting, so I am sure we will have a winner soon.Can you see the birdies I am stalking?
