Today is the last day to enter the When When Contest. You can be a When When Watcher too! As you can see, we have a LOT of snow. I cannot wait until it all melts. It certainly won't be today.
It is sunny out, but cold. I am going to nap in this sunny window, and then when the sun moves, I will to nap on my other kitty condo in the studio.
Heh.

Toasty Thursday
There's still snow outside, but I can't show you because Mom had to get up early today to see a bean v-e-t for a checkup so she left me to post.
Here I am licking the butter off Mom's toast. What can I say? It was the best part of her breakfast. I sure didn't want all that stupid green rabbit food with yukky radishes, ah-voh-cah-does, fat-ah cheese and runny poached egg.
Yech.
We have got lots of entries for the When When Contest. Some days where chosen by as many as FOUR different furriends. Mom says there are still two or three what she calls "viable" days that have not been selected by anybuddy.
On Saturday, after the contest is closed to entries, Mom and I will post the winning dates of the prior When When Contests. Mom says the numbers are very interesting.
But she also says that if I give any hints I won't get any Temp-tay-tions treats until the snow melts!!
EEK!

Millie Monday
Don't forget to enter your guesses for this year's When When Contest. Please enter in the comments of this post! And Noela, I have decided you can enter even though you are a hooman.
We had a little bit of snow last night, and although it might be sunny tonight, we might have more snowy and snishy weather this week. (sigh) Actually the snow doesn't bother Mom so much as the cold does. She wants normal March temperatures. And sun. Lots of sun.
Enter the contest here! It's easy and the contest is fun. Check back every day to see when the snow will go away! Be a When When Watcher!

The Sixth When When Contest is ON!! - Entry Deadline Extended!
I am happy to announce the Sixth When When Contest will is ON for 2015.
The When When Contest is not an annual event because there isn't always snow on the ground on March 1st. The first When When Contest was held in 2008. The contest was held in 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2014.
This is the view outside the front of our new house in the town of ----, about four miles away from our other place. We had two full winter's worth of snow in just over a month. The piles of snow on either side of our driveway are both taller than Mom (60"). We have more snow on the ground now than we have ever had in any previous When When Contest.
The big question is.... "When will the snow MELT?" That's what I want to know.
When will it be ALL GONE?
Would you like to guess? I am having a contest. The cat, woofie or bun who guesses the date when there is NO MORE SNOW when Mom looks out this window will get a prize. The prize will be treats, and bragging rights! (Occasionally evil little chocolates have been known to appear in prize packages, but Mom is making no promises.)
Every morning Mom will get up and take a picture of this same view and post it on my blog. On the day she wakes up and THERE IS NO SNOW ANYWHERE IN THE PICTURE will be THE DAY. If you guess the EXACT day, you will get a prize. If NOBODY guesses the EXACT DAY, the cat who guessed the day CLOSEST TO the day, but not AFTER the day, will get the prize.
Here are the rules:
1. Each cat, woofie or bun gets ONE GUESS EACH. (Our friend Megan from Sydney Australia can enter even if she isn't a cat, but she's the only hooman who is eligible.)
2. Guesses must be in the comments of THIS POST.
3. Deadline is MidnightWednesday March 4 Friday March 6, 2015. (So when it isn't Friday anywhere in the world, the voting will be over.)
4. You have to have a blog, or leave some way for us to get in touch with you, so we have to know who you are. If you have a blog, you're good to go. (We don't do Facebook.)
5. You can enter no matter where you live. Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada... all are welcome to enter.
6. It's my blog, so if I wanna change the rules, I can.
Now for some useful information.
1. We face true East. South is to the right.
2. Sun melts the snow.
3. Rain melts it faster.
4. The average high temperature for March in New Hampster is 44F
5. The average low temperature for March in New Hampster is 18F
6. Winter isn't over, either. We have had big snowstorms at the end of February, and in March. It snows in April, too. So, guess accordingly.
7. *****The contest ends when there is NO SNOW on the ground in the picture. If it snows the next day, oh well, that's New England weather for you!*****
8. When the contest is closed, Mom will post a big list of all the entries and dates in my sidebar, so everybody will know who guessed what date. It is your responsibility to check that your name is there, and that your guess is correct. It's usually a big list, and adding the names gets complicated, so if your name is missing, let me know right away.
So put on your thinking caps, leave a guesstimate, spread the news, tell your furriends, and check back every day to see if you are the winner!
Good luck!

Sloppy Sunday
It's been raining all night, and a lot of the snow has melted. The When When Contest is on in earnest.
There are a few small piles of snow up that side street, but the one we are really watching is this one, on the other side of the fence.
This is the pile of snow that will determine the winner. The temperature is supposed to stay above freezing for the next five days and nights.
I have rediscovered my tent.

Sunny Saturday
Mom plans to take it easy today. Me too.
Here's what it looks like outside today. It is supposed to be well above freezing today, and should stay sunny all day. Mom is hoping a lot of the stuff will melt. She doesn't care about the SNOW, she wants the ice on the driveway to melt, and all the snow on the roof to melt too.
I have her promise to add the names of the When When Contest to my sidebar today also.
Enjoy the day, kitties.

Finally Friday
Mom is really happy it is Friday because it has been a rough week with all the snow. Lookit! It's been RAINING all night. Remember yesterday I said that sun melts snow, but rain melts it faster? Well I'm not just whistling Dixie.
This snow is gonna melt for sure, we just don't know WHEN. That's where YOU and your furry furriends come in. YOU hafta enter my When When Contest and GUESS. It's easy. You just pick a day and tell me in the comments of THIS post. Only a coupla cats picked a date in March, and the snow often does melt before the end of March, so there are lots of good guessing days left. It's supposed to rain for a couple of days, and we're going to have some sun tomorrow, so that will help.
Mom wants it GONE and SOON, but nothing she can do can make it go faster, so we might as well have some fun watching it GO. The deadline for entering is midnight tonight, and we need a lot more guesses to make this a really fun contest.
This is the 6th (I think) year of the When When Contest. Let's make it the best ever!
Now I am going back to the top of my kitty condo and take a nap.

When When Contest Wednesday!!!
We got twice as much snow as the weatherguys thought we would. We now have 10" (25 cm) above our average winter snowfall. What does that mean? It means we have had as much snow as Mom is tall.
It's pretty, no doubt, but everybody here in New Hampster says they are tired of it, and want it to go away. Mom says it WILL go away, we just don't know WHEN.
The big question is.... "When will the snow MELT?" That's what I want to know.

Not Wordless Wednesday
Ok everybody, the contest is closed. Over the next few days Mom will add a list of everybody's guesses on the sidebar. Mom and I were kinda surprised how many cats picked days in April. I would have guessed a day in March, but we'll see. This is what it looks like outside as Mom and I write this today.
I made sure Mom had a good picture of me, because photos of MOI on this blog have been scarce lately.
