Tuxie Tuesday

Now that Mom's finished with that great big quilt, she is bringing up more of the Christymas decorations. This is me and my Holiday Gizzy Quilt.

HEY EVERYBODY! Mom Robyn's car was hit by a truck yesterday. Mom Robyn's knee is hurt, but not broken, and she is pretty banged up. Let's go on over and give her some purrs so she feels better soon. She has been having a lot of bad luck lately. We have to help change that. Thanks!

My Own Holiday Gizzy Quilt

I am -so- happy! Lookit, a Holiday Gizzy Quilt just for ME! It is mostly red and white, and it is MINE! Mom is gonna finish it later today, but it is MINE! She didn't keep any other Christymas fabric when she made the Holiday Gizzy Quilts this summer, but she made this for me and kept it a SECRET! Now the secret is OUT and I am gonna have my very own Holiday Gizzy Quilt! Yippee!

Oh shoot! Mo-----------mmmmmm! This picture makes me look FAT! I am NOT fat! It is just a terribly unflattering angle! Sheesh, Mom.... Now Monty's gonna have to spend the day in the icebox.

(What am I gonna do? Mom can be such a pain in the patootie!)

Fantastic Flying Quilt Friday

I dunno how Mom does it, but she tells me that most of the fabulous, fantastic, flying Holiday Gizzy quilts have landed.

She says several have landed in Catifornia and Illinoisy. There have been Holiday Gizzy Quilt landings in Floridacat, Cat-hio, Oregonicat, Washingticat, Meowsouri, Whiskeronsin, Nevadacat, and New Yorkat.

A fabulous fantastic, amazing technicolor flying Babybean Raffle Quilt is expected to land in Alabamacat at any time.

Lisa ordered a Holiday Gizzy, so Mom sent both quilts together. They arrived earlier today and Lisa and her cats love them. You can check out pictures and videos here!

I'd say that's a Fantastic Friday!

More on the Boo-Boo

A customer changed her mind about the Holiday Gizzy Quilts she ordered on Monday. Mom has sold one, and there is another available. Please email me at darlingmillie AT gmail DOT com if you are interested.

Mom turns a funny shade of red and her face crinkles up when I ask about it, so I'm not going there.

Flying Quilts and a Boo Boo

Holiday Gizzy Quilts are now airborne, flying their way across the US to their new homes. Here is what the man in the bloo shorts saw:

Through a series of errors and misunderstandings, there is another Holiday Gizzy Quilt available. It is up for grabs. If you want it, email me at darlingmillie AT gmail DOT com right away.

Holiday Gizzy Quilt Sale Information

Hi everybody! At noon Sunday, according to the countdown clock on the blog, the Holiday Gizzy Quilts will be available for sale. You will be able to follow this link: Holiday Gizzy Quilts and add either one or two quilts to your cart to purchase.

Here are a few things Mom thought you all might want to know before "Q-time."

1. The ONLY place to order a Holiday Gizzy Quilts will be at the page above. An "Add to Cart" button will be added at noon tomorrow.

2. If there is no Add to Cart button, click the refresh button on your browser.

3. Mom does not have the programming skills to prevent folks from adding more than 2 quilts to the cart, so here's the deal: any order that comes in for more than 2 quilts will be rejected immediately.

4. Since Mom can't set up the cart to automatically count down from 20, Mom plans to be sitting at the computer watching, and plans to take the Holiday Quilt page down as soon as the quilts have sold out. There is the chance that some folks will place orders for quilts after the 20 quilts have been sold. Mom will immediately refund these orders.

5. Mom will confirm all Holiday Gizzy Quilt orders.

6. If you order a quilt and you are outside the US, Mom will contact you about the additional shipping charges.

7. The quilts will be shipped out to lucky buyers in the US on Tuesday September 4 via USPS Priority Mail. All buyers will get email confirmations.

8. Mom will be the final arbiter of all conflicts.

thanks! The quilts are all packed up and ready to go.

Mom's a little nervous.

Tennis, Tennis, Tennis

Mom's been watching the US Open. She's sewing Gizzy quilts as she watches, and we check my email fairly regularly. The Babybean Raffle Tickets have been selling well. And of course our big Holiday Gizzy event will happen on Sunday at Noon. It's gonna be a big weekend at our place this weekend!

You Got Questions? I Got Answers

1. Dragonheart was worried about what time it would be in Germany when the Holiday Gizzy Quilts go on sale. When it is noon here, it is 6:00 PM in Germany. Here is a link to a Time Converter.

2. Derby said Mom should stop and smell the roses. She did! She bought Mrs Big a ginormous bouquet of 18 roses when Mrs. Big got her Black Belt. She said they smelled GREAT!

3. Whenever I post a tummy shot, I always get comments from beans saying they want to kiss it. Well, let me set the record straight... Nobody, but nobody, touches my tummy.

4. Mom got my website back up. It's got all old stuff on it, nothing new. But everything works. Tomorrow she has to add a new page for the Babybean Raffle. Stay tuned! How does Mom do all this stuff? She likes to be Busy. She says she doesn't do Bored real well.

5. How do Jasmine and I make sure we get enough attention from her? Well Jasmine jumps up onto her worktable and plops herself right on top of whatever Mom is doing. I just walk over to Mom and MEOW as loud as I can, over and over and over and over. Fortunately, both strategies work very well.

6. Why haven't I left so many comments on the blogs? Well, Mom has been so busy. We try to visit as often as we can, and we try to visit everybody at least every other day, but we don't always have time to comment. We haven't forgotten anybody!

Holiday Gizzys

The # 1 vote getter for the sale date for the Holiday Gizzy Quilts by far is Sunday September 2, 2007. So THAT's when they will go on sale.

The time will be NOON, Eastern Time. That means 9 AM for California cats, and 6 PM (or thereabouts) for my special pal, Dragonheart, in Munich Germany.

(phew!)

Monday Update

Guess who found my special spot this morning and took it over?

That's right, Princess Jasmine herself. So Mom moved all the Holiday Gizzys to someplace she hopes neither Jasmine or I will find comfortable. Because the -last- thing she needs is a little territorial marking going on.

Thanks a lot, Miss Piss-pot!

A Holiday Gizzy Quilt Poll

Now that Mom has finished the Holiday Gizzy Quilts, all that is left is to sell them. Mom had decided not to sell them before August 5, so cats could save up their green papers. But lots of cats have told us they are very eager to get a Holiday Gizzy Quilt, so Mom and I have put up a poll in our sidebar (to the left).

If you are interested in getting a Holiday Gizzy Quilt, please vote in the poll.

After the results of this poll are known, Mom will post a poll asking about what time of day would be best for everybody. (And it won't be in the middle of the night here.)

Thank you all very much.

Same Jasmine, Different Quilt

I dunno what it is about the Holiday Gizzys, but Jasmine can't seem to get enough of them. Here is Jasmine on a -different- Holiday Gizzy than yesterday.

Mom has finished 8 of the 20 Holiday Gizzys. When she finishes them, she is replacing pictures of the quilt designs with pictures of the finished quilts on the Slide show at Bizzy for Gizzy.

Personally, I think it's just Jasmine's way of getting Mom's attention.

OOooooooh! My Secret Paws package just arrived!

Napping on Gizzys

Lookit this nice pillow Mom left on the wing chair for me. It makes such a nice pillow for me while I am napping on my Gizzy quilt.

Jasmine really liked this Holiday Gizzy Mom was working on yesterday.

Holiday Bizzy for Gizzy Quilts!

I'm gonna let Mom tell you about her idea for the Holiday Gizzys. Take it away Mom...

"As the Bizzy for Gizzy quilts grew to be a phenomenon, I realized that many cats would like "Holiday Gizzys" and that I could be deluged with orders for Christmas. Since I already have a demanding job, and the quilts take a big chunk of my remaining free time, I tried to think of a way to make Holiday Gizzys that would be fair to the cats who wanted them, yet provide me with enough time to enjoy the holiday season with my family, free of the stress of a drop-dead delivery deadline.

"Fortunately, retailers offer Christmas fabric very early in the year. Making a fixed number of quilts, alerting the blogosphere of their number, price, and sale date ahead of time seemed to me the fairest way to do it."

Holiday Gizzy Quilt Plan

1. There will be 20 quilts only.

2. The size & construction of the Holiday Gizzy Quilts will be the same as now: 24” square, 100% top quality cotton fabric on the top and bottom with fleece in the middle. As usual, the quilts are machine washable and dryable.

3. The Holiday Gizzy quilts will be in the traditional Christmas colors of Red, Green, Gold and White. There will be no predominantly blue or purple fabrics, no religious themes, no Santas, no cats or dogs, and no "novelty” designs. I feel this will make the quilts timeless and have wide appeal. And -gasp- they can be used as woofie quilts also!

4. Photographs of each of the finished Holiday Gizzys will be posted on the Bizzy for Gizzy blog as they are completed so you can see them ahead of time.

5. They will be sold first-come, first-served.

6. No pre-ordering. No waiting lists.

7. Orders will be limited to two Holiday Gizzy quilts per email address per 24-hour period. This way all cats that want a quilt will have the opportunity to get one.

8. The Holiday Gizzy quilts go on sale no earlier than Sunday August 5, 2007. The exact sale date will be announced two weeks ahead of time. My original idea was to start selling the quilts on November 1, but so many cats expressed an interest in them now, I have decided to make them available sooner. Information about how to purchase a Holiday Gizzy will be posted here and the Bizzy for Gizzy blog on that day.

9. Nobody gets to choose. I'm going to package the Holiday Gizzys up the day before they go "on sale." When an order comes in, I will grab a bag, slap a label on it and ship it out. Even I won't know which quilt will go where.

10. When they're gone, they're gone.

11. There will be no custom "Christmas" quilts. And I will not promise "Christmas Delivery" for any other quilt. Women have too much to do at the Holidays already.

12. Payment will be through Paypal only (to avoid the "check is in the mail" syndrome). You don’t need a Paypal account to pay through Paypal. They can take your credit card or they can suck money right out of your checking account. And they have “e-checks.” It’s safe and secure.

13. As of July 1, 2007, the price for a Gizzy quilt has increased to $45 each. I have really been agonizing over this. The truth is the quilts take far more than 2 hours to make, and 100% cotton fabrics now routinely sell for $10.00/yard.

14. The price for a Holiday Gizzy Quilt is $52.50 USD each and includes US Domestic Priority Mail shipping and a small handling fee. International shipping will be extra.

15. Since I make the quilts, I make the rules, and can bend or change them as I see fit.

Helping Mom

Mom has been designing the Holiday Gizzys. She arranges the pieces then photographs the design so when she sews the pieces together they are the way she wants. Then she puts all the pieces in a bag. I have been helping.

See? That's my work.

You can see some more Holiday Gizzy designs at the Bizzy for Gizzy blog.

I am very happy the BfG 4th of July Quilt Auction Benefit is going so well. Fiona Bun is kinda blown away.

Mom says she is pretty sure she has enough Red White and Blue fabric to make another quilt, so if you don't submit a winning bid, and want a Red White and Blue quilt, email me at DarlingMillie AT Gmail DOT com.
