To the City of Angels

Here I am.
Waiting to get on a jet plane to go visit the newest member of our family, Little Miss. I can't wait.

OK. I have to wait an hour before we can even get on the plane.

Guess it's time for a nap.

The Family

Miss BG was released from the NICU yesterday, which was a really happy event for Mr Karate & Rubylocks.

It was an even BIGGER event when everybody went home later.  WHEE!!!

OK Everybody, now's your chance. The Baby Girl needs a blog name. Suggestions are most welcome, as Mom's brain is still mush.  Leave your ideas in the comments and we'll pick one we like best.

Thanks!

Family Friday

Yesterday started with a walk around the neighborhood with Mim-may.

(And a cup of coffee at the local bakery.)

Then Auntie Karate and PlusOne arrived and shook things up a bit with their Nerf guns.

Then it was time to drive to the mountains.

We drove.

And drove,

Until finally we got to the mountains, then we drove some more.

Until finally we got here.

I am so tired. I need a nap.  It's gonna be a big day tomorrow.

Holiday Photos

This is Mr Karate and Rubylocks modeling the hats they were given for Christymas.

As you can see, Mr Karate is very silly.

This is Mim-may and Missy-the-woofie enjoying the quilt Mom made for them.

This is Auntie Karate and my fur-cousin Roxy, who tried to lick the plates when Mom and Auntie Karate were putting them in the dishwasher. Roxy will eat anything.

Really. Anything.

Here's PlusOne, who loves nothing more than a gigantic pile of mashed potatoes.

Lastly, here I am enjoying my heated cat cup.

Happy Boxing Day!

Family Friday

Mom is home from the bean v-e-t.

She was not a happy camper this morning drinking that yukky junk. I had to MEOW several times to get to use my litterbox.  She did finally understand, and left the litterbox room so I  could do my bizness.

Finally she was done drinking that junk, and done with the human litterbox. She got in the rainbox and came out smiling, so that was good. Then she put the bedsheets in the washing monster. (She was muttering about stupid pills that woke her up at fourthirtyam and leaving a trail... I do not know what that was about, but I made sure to get the hell out of the way.) She got dressed, and emptied the dishwasher. "Macaroni and cheese when I get home later, Millie. I can't wait!" She blew me a kiss (like she always does) and sailed out the door.

When she came back a few hours later she was kinda dragging and Mim-may was with her. She made her macaroni-and-cheese and dug into it with as much enthusiasm as I dig into my Beef stinky goodness. Then she lay down on the couch and watched TV. I made sure she was OK, and rubbed myself all over her for good measure. Now she's watching TV and I'm catnapping, keeping an eye on her.

She said the bean v-e-t- took one little pollip and a sample of something else that looked funny, but she is OK. She will get the results in a couple of weeks. Today she can't do any driving in the metal masheen and she can't sew or use her fabric pizza cutter, so she'll be watching the tennis on TV and napping on the couch. She can do her normal stuff tomorrow.

That's all folks. Mom thanks you all for your best wishes.

Family Friday

My Mom, the sucker for all things feline, has downloaded a book to her new Kindle called "A Street Cat Named Bob."

I've been reading over her shoulder, and I think it's pretty good. Bob is one smart mancat.  You should check it out.

Oh yeah. Mom got herself that new Kindle...

Family Friday

Yoda is a cute little guy.

but he's a very serious little dude.

Don't let that fool you though, he really knows how to have fun.

He's learning to be an expert napper.

He thinks he's a contender for the annual Cats on Quilts Contest, and he's already practicing for next year.

Of course he loves Mr Karate (and Rubylocks)

But I'm the one that got to go to Malibu Beach!

After all, Rank has its privileges.

Family Friday

This is my fur-cousin Yoda. He lives in Catifornia with Mr Karate and Rubylocks.  He looks like a regular snuggle bunny.

A completely shameless snuggle bunny by the look of it.

Family Fun

The Pretty Girl is visiting from Oregon.

Naturally, photographs had to be taken with PlusOne, who is six months older.

Naturally, kids have to show off.

Naturally, fun must be had.

Family Friday with Yoda

Rubylocks sent Mom this picture of Mr Karate napping with Yoda. I think it makes a perfect Family Friday photo.

Me? It's so blasted hot I'm hiding in a cool spot. Mom even has a fan going just for me.

Family Friday

Mom and I snuck away for a trip to Mary-land
This photo was taken at Annmarie Gardens in front of Mom's favorite sculpture. That's Mooshie sticking his tongue out, then Mom, then KidBean holding the Caboose and SweetBean.

Tucker likes me.
He -really- likes Mom.

I think the Caboose and Mooshie like each other. They like to rassle.

Of course, Monty and I only had eyes for each other.

Thursday

Mom and I pride ourselves in posting only current pictures. We don't go back to the photo album unless the occasion calls for it.  Mom took this photo of me just a few minutes ago as we were preparing this blog post.

It was a rough time last night. Mr Karate called. One of his very best friends had hurt his feelings and he called Mom to talk about it. Mom know the friend very well, and got very upset. Mr Karate was happy to know he had Mom's support. Mom said, "Excuse me? I am ALWAYS in your corner." It's funny. Mr Karate once said of Mom, "Mom, you are only five feet tall, but when you're mad you're a lot bigger."  Heh.

Anyway, here is the standard outside shot.

The ten day forecast shows temperatures well above freezing, with a few sunny warm days coming up. The snow will go away. The only question is, when?

Feline Friday

After Mom's silly photo of me yesterday, I think we can all agree THIS photo is much better!

Mom doesn't like it when I spill the beans, but hey, I'm a cat and I'll spill knock over any beans I choose.  (Figuratively speaking, of course.) Anyways, Mom's big wordy project is why I haven't been visiting many blogs and leaving comments.  Please accept my humble apologies, but in this case, I'm on Mom's side. I really want her to get this wordy project done for so many reasons, I can't list them all here. Suffice it to say she wants to let the world know how important cats are, and how we small furry four pawed creatures make the world a better place.

Fam Friday

Mr Karate was visiting last night. He surprised Mom at her day hunting gig yesterday by showing up on a yellow motorcycle. He told Mom he is going to the desert to see a man burning. I may only be a cat but I don't think I'd want to be anybody burning and I certainly wouldn't enjoy being in a metal masheen for three or four days to get there.

But hey, he's Family, so I'll trust he knows what he's doing.

Have I told you lately how glad I am to be a cat?

I Am a Family Cat

I have a couple of fur-cousins who are woofies. They are part of my family.  Families come in all shapes and sizes and you have to love your family members, even if they are woofies.
Roxy and Lucky own PlusOne and his Mom and Dad (Auntie Karate & Mr Big.). They are selling raffle tickets to this Asian-themed lap robe to raise money for PlusOne to go to France, Italy and Greece this summer and play music as part of the People to People Student Ambassador Trip.

PlusOne has always been very good to me. He never tries to grab me and he is always very patient with me. I let him pet me, and I like to play with him. He is a good almost grown up sticky bean and I want him to be able to go to Europe and see the world.

The lap robe is 48" x 60" (122 x 152 cm) and will be filled with puffy, very warm batting and tied. It will be PAWSOME for napping on and under. Raffle tickets are $5 USD each.  You have to go to Roxy's blog to buy tickets.

Thank you.
your friend,
Millie

Family Friday

Violette's quilt is visiting Mom and I for a few weeks.  Mom will enjoy looking at it, and sleeping under it, but I have a big job to do. I have to cover this quilt quite thoroughly with my furs.

I'm totally up for the challenge.  Let the napping begin!

Family Friday

Mom did it.

She made two dozen Red Velvet Cupcakes. She made them at home, in her own kitchen. She's nuts. She brought them to her day-hunting gig. She even turned on the air-colditining in her metal masheen for the trip. She had to. It was so hot the frosting was melting!

Eight-thirty in the morning, and they were already half gone.Later in the day, it got really, really hot. 100 is a Really Big Deal here in New Hampster. We didn't only have the Hots, we had the Stickies. Yuck! Mom says it's so hot she might even leave the air colditioner on all day for ME!

Family Friday

The quilt Mom calls Laughing Out Loud is back from an extended trip to Tennessee. As you can see, we are getting re-acquainted.

Gosh I hope it stops raining soon!

The Family Monday

There was a big family brunch at Mim-may's on Sunday. Here are Mr Fine Furnituremaker, PlusOne, and Mr Karate. (Mr FF is uncle to both "younger" boys.) Mr FF isn't a grouch, he just doesn't like being fussed over and having to pose in pictures.Mr FF used to play a musical instrument in high school, and listened to Mr Karate play cello.
Did you know that Mr FF and Mr Karate have the same first name?Do you think they look alike?
What about now?

A good time was had by all.
