Sneaky Saturday
I'm still enjoying the crunchy brown paper. Mom has left it there so I can play with it.
The de-cluttering continues. Mom went through her closet and her bureau last night. Do you know she has twenty-eight turtleneck shirts? That's enough for her to wear a clean one every day for a whole month. She has that many pairs of socks too. Sheesh.
I gotta hand it to Mom. She's trying. She thinks that putting my foods in this crate will make me like it.
Yeah right.
I'm no dummy. It's a trick, I know it.

Millie Monday
Mom, I'm taking a nap. Please take the flashy box someplace else. Honestly, all this cleaning you have been doing has been quite exhausting. I'm quite worn out.

Too Much Thursday
How much snow did we get yesterday?
Too damn much. Mon thinks we got a foot or so.
Mom cleaned the bookcases in three rooms and emptied out practically every drawer in the house. She found pens, pencils and highlighters in every single room. Now they are in one place.
Mom was a raving maniac, and I stayed out of the way and napped.

Mom.
You moved my foods.
You rearranged everything. You shredded eight bags of papers. You even bought a spidery Darth-Vader chair.
Now could you please stop so I can get some rest?

Shredded Sunday
Mom went through all the papers that were on her desk yesterday. She sorted and shredded. Can you believe I missed this? Can you imagine the FUN I would have had?

Sorting and Shredding Stuff Saturday
Mom decided to move the bureau to the other side of the room. She emptied a lot of stuff out of the drawers. I just HAD to check everything out.
This is the mess that is her desk. As you can see, she has a LOT of cleaning to do. Mom has already filled FOUR grocery bags with shredded paper, and she isn't finished.
Lookit that same wall now. My foods have moved, and I am not exactly happy about it. Lookit in the corner... Mom is trying to trick me to get into that cage. She put a big pile of 'Nip in there to tempt me. I'm not stupid. I didn't go near it until she left the house to go food hunting. She isn't the only smarty-pants in this house.
Here's the desk in its new home. Don't let the clean surface fool you. Mom still has LOTS of sorting and shredding to do.
Me? I'm gonna find a quiet place to nap.

Junk in the Trunk
Yesterday after Mom fed me my dinner she went to the dungeon to get some grey bins. Then she went into the "office" (also known as the junk room" and started pulling stuff out of the closet. She didn't work in there long but she did fill up three bins.
The bin on the left is full of stuff that's going in the trash. The two in the middle are filled with stuff to go to Goodwill. The red plastic bins are going to Auntie Karate and the boots are going to Mr Karate. Mom has a stack of stuff she is giving away on her quilting blog. It was messy for a while.
I was napping in the recliner under this quilt. When Mom was done, we watched the new episode of SHERLOCK, which was hilarious and hysterical.
I got lots of scritches. It was a good evening for the both of us.

Tuxie Tuesday
Mom could learn a lot from me if she paid attention. She took this picture of me washing up after I had my dinner. It's a lesson she should learn. When she is sewing like a maniac, she makes dinner and then just puts the dishes on the counter and leaves them there. Tsk, tsk. Things are so much harder to clean if they are left to sit for a few days.
Case in point. Mom got home from day hunting last night, fed me my dinner (as usual) then sat down to read her tippy tappy lapbox. When her tummy started growling, she put the lapbox aside and went into the kitchen. I heard a big sigh, and then she came back into the living room rubbing her face. She walked around for a few minutes then went back into the kitchen.
I heard pots banging and the water running. She was washing the dishes. This went on for about half an hour. Maybe less, I don't know, I'm a cat!
The next thing I heard was Mom rummaging around in the cold box, taking stuff out and putting stuff on the kitchen counter. Naturally I had to investigate. She was cutting up some yukky green stuff and doing other stupid cooking stuff. She went outside to cut some stupid green herby stuff from her garden and put it on her foods. Then she sat down to eat.
Guess what she did when she was all done? She washed all her dinner dishes and the pots she used to cook with. But that's not the kicker. When she was finished, and the kitchen was nice and clean, the counters were empty of stuff (so much easier for me to get up there now), she comes into the living room and says to me, "Millie, it's so much better to take care of the dirty stuff right away."
Really? I mean, Mom, really?
Have I told you lately how glad I am to be a cat?

Tuxie Tuesday
Mom did another one of her twenty-minute cleaning jags last night, and cleaned out a shelf in one of the kitchen cabinets. Can you guess which one it is?
I dunno. I wasn't watching. It sure isn't the bottom shelf though!
(And for those of you who are wondering, yes, Mom has one of pretty much everything.)

Formerly Feral Friday
It's supposed to be warm today. Mom has a couple of windows open for me, and she pulled the curtains apart so I can watch the antics of the folks next door.
Mom is at it again, this time she cleaned out the kitchen cupboards. See this stuff? Mom says it's all past the experate, exrate, operation... oh whatever. Mom says it's too old, so it has to go. Mr Karate used to say that Mom's kitchen was the "kitchen of endless possibilities." Mom says the possibilities can still be endless with less stuff.
She's even been clearing out the cookbook bookcase!! You should see the stack of cookbooks she has put aside to give away.

The Truth Is Out
Why did Mom clean the house last weekend? The real reason? A quilting buddy of hers will be visiting on Saturday. Big Whoop.
Then Mom told me her friend is particularly interested in meeting ME!
Well, that changes everything.

Silly Saturday
Mom is getting rid of 50 things. See? She's gone through every drawer in her bedroom. She's been through the junk drawer on the nightstand. Then she sorted through the books underneath. She found twenty green papers, so that made her all excited. (I think she's crazy. I could see there was only ONE piece of paper, but she says it was twenty. I may only be a cat, but even I know twenty is not the same as one.)
She sorted through the drawer that had all the old jewelry, threw away a lot of that stuff. Most of it was broken or had missing pieces. She found lots and lots of buttons, all of them in little envelopes (dunno what that's all about). She put those in a box. She found at least FOUR old pieces of plastic with her picture on them. She says they were her old driver's licenses. Dunno what she needed them for, but they went through the shredder. She found about six pair of old glasses she can't see through. Those are going to "a good cause" but Mom didn't say what it was.
Lastly she took all the drawers out of the bureau and started throwing clothes around. I confess I tried to get into the bureau when the drawers were out, and Mom went running for her camera so she could take my picture, but I was faster than she was. I was saved the embarrassment of a photo of my spot # 13 hanging out for all the world to see.
Now she's all done. The wastebasket is full of stuff she doesn't want, and there is a stack of clothes for Mr Good Will. She says if it's in the bedroom now, it's coming.
Oh - kay. I'm glad I was in the bedroom when she said that.

Oh Boy!
Wow. Mom got the junk out of the dining room, and she cleaned off the table. Even I have to say it looks really nice. Now she has four rooms de-junked.(Well mostly. See the bookcase? It's ALL cookbooks. She says she is going to get rid of some, but I don't believe her.)
As long as I have places to nap and get my foods and my scritches, I'm good.

Tattle-Tale Tuesday
You know how Mom's been "de-cluttering?" Remember how I said she had six big boxes of books in the dining room all packed up? They aren't in the dining room.
Remember these?
Well, today they are go-go-going. Mom found a place on line that will come and pick up used books and take them away.
Mom is excited. She has cleaned up junk stuff out of four rooms, and only has a couple more to do.
She also needs to find a home for this yellow Fiestaware sugar and creamer set. If you want them, do email me at darlingmillie AT gmail DOT com and ask. Be sure to tell me where you live.

Family Friday
The treadmill is gone. Woo hoo! I don't have to put up with it's scary noise any more.
Guess who, in the middle of all this housecleaning, cannot find the spare battery for the digital camera?
Heh.

Millie Monday
Mom is going day hunting today, so the craziness is over until she gets back.
Still.
Mom finished fixing up her own bedroom, and cleaned the litterbox room. She packed up SIX boxes of books for pickup later, and finished moving stuff around in the living room. She's also been going through some of the stuff on the top shelves in the kitchen. She ran the dishwasher -three- times today, and even put some dishes out in the trash!
She wants to get rid of the treadmill, but couldn't get it out the door, so it's parked in the dining room until some strong young men can help her get rid of it.
Me? I've managed to get my food dishes moved out of the way of all this foolishness, and even get some good scritches.
Heh.

May Day! Mayday!
Holy Bast! Mom's gone completely crazy! She's been making a GIGANTIC mess! First it was the shelves in the computer room... there are boxes full of books in the dining room! Next, it was the encyclopedias. (Mom says nobody would take them, and believe me, she checked!)
Then, she emptied out the CD rack, and put that out on the street (where it disappeared less than an hour later).
Next, she moved a bookcase across the room (but first she had to empty it out and clean every shelf.) Then she emptied the hutch and moved that near the phone.
Can you see me trying to find a place to hide in the photo below?
She put the dry sink where the hutch used to be, and moved one of her drawings to the wall above it.
Fortunately, my foods are safe and sound.
With Mr Karate's help, she moved the bookcase from her bedroom to the living room, then moved the other bookcase to the same wall and rearranged the furniture a bit.
Not without my approval, of course...
Naturally she couldn't do any of this without dragging the rug sucking monster all over the place, and holy bast, what noise! I spent most of my day avoiding that!
She even moved her bed and one of Mim-may's paintings.
The house is still a disaster. There are boxes of books all over the dining room floor. The table is covered in stuff, and there kitchen is full of dirty dishes.
Mom isn't finished yet either.
Give me strength!

Formerly Feral Friday
I told you Mom is de-cluttering. Check this out...
Mom got rid of the old encyclopedias.
She got rid of the old broken water cooler, and the little purple chest of drawers. (She put the out with the trash last night, and this morning when she got up they were gone! The trash truck hadn't even come by yet!)
Look at all the empty space!
Mom says I have nothing to worry about. Me and all my stuff are staying put.
That's one of the advantages of being formerly feral.
I am a very happy cat.
