You know how I said I wanted it warm weather? Well, I got it.
Yesterday at ridiculous early Mom and I got up and went to the Boston airport.
Mom and I got on a plane.
It went up in the air.
For four hours all we flew over was white stuff. Very boring.
Then we flew over some snow covered mountains.
Finally we flew over and then into a really big city.
LOOK!!! We're in Los Angeles! It's sunny and warm here. It was 88 degrees (31 C) today. I like this much better than cold and rainy.

Tuxie Tuesday
I've been sleeping on the bed next to Mom lately. She likes it, and so do I. It's still cool out, and it is supposed to be cloudy, cool and rainy all week. That totally sucks. I want warm weather where I can smell the flowers.

Millie Monday
Mom, I'm taking a nap. Please take the flashy box someplace else. Honestly, all this cleaning you have been doing has been quite exhausting. I'm quite worn out.

Planning Ahead
It is chocolate between two pieces of toasted angel food cake. It is a crowd-pleaser and very easy to make. Mom and I posted about it several years ago, and you can see how it is made here.
This is how good Mom things it is. (She loves it even though she is making a funny face.)
Mom said NO WAY. Thus I am giving her the butt of shame.

Soggy Saturday
It's raining out, and it's chilly. I'm hiding out under the bed. Hey, I don't like being predictable!

Freaky Friday
Mom has been shopping.
It sounds perfectly normal, I know. But this is different. This is weird. Let me show you.
Last night she came home with this pink purse. She didn't need a new purse, but she saw it and fell in love. She said it would "match." Match what? She isn't pink.
The other night she came home with this stack of stuff. New undies, socks, and a bathrobe. (A couple of weeks ago she brought in a new nightgown.) That's not so strange, she wears stuff like this every day, but she didn't put these things away in her bureau. Hmmm...
When these shoes came home, I started to wonder. These shoes have holes in them. What good are they for? Mom usually wears sneakers. I am not sure if these shoes can even stay on her feets!
This, though, has me worried. Mom says it is a "bathing suit." Look, I dunno about you, but when I take a bath I don't put stupid stuff ON, and I've seen Mom washing herself in the rainbox and she doesn't have anything on in there either, but what this is for, I have no idea. I've never, ever seen Mom in a "bathing suit" before. (All things considered though, I think the color choice is just fine.)
This doesn't make any sense at all. Inside this funny looking bottle is water. Well, it looks like water, but it isn't. This stuff stinks. Mom was all excited, gushing all over the place. "Oh Millie, doesn't this smell wonderful?" Oh yeah, sure Mom, I can smell it across the room, you don't need to get any closer with that stuff...
Over the last few weeks she's been bringing other stuff home too. Shirts and pants mostly. Stuff she normally wears in warm weather.
I'm telling you, something freaky is going on...

Thursday Thought
OK Mom, the snow is gone, when is it gonna get warm out? When can we open the windows?
When can we plant my 'Nip?
Huh?

Millie Monday
I know it looks like I haven't moved, but I have. Last night I slept on the big bed next to Mom all night long. And yesterday I watched the world go by from my cat hammock.

Saturday "Issues"
Dear Mom,
Thank you for getting me a lovely placemat that makes me think I'm eating my foods in Paris.
However, it does not compensate for disassembling my tent.
I do not care if the inside of the tent was covered in my furs. It's my job to do that. You had no right to stuff it in the washing monster without my permission.

Finally Friday
OK Mom, it's time to get up. The alarm has rung, and you have already hit the snooze button once. Your light is on, and that means you are awake. I am hungry and need my foods. Get with the program already.

Thursday Thoughts
Mom wasn't exactly thrilled about scraping an inch of snow off the windshield of her car before she went day hunting yesterday.
When Mom got home from day-hunting last night, the ice on the bush outside was shimmering in the sun. Which is saying something because it was above freezing for most of the day. But it was very windy, so it felt a lot colder.
I have been hiding out in my tent, on the cushy warm fleece pillow.
Several cats have commented they might have had a chance at winning the When When Contest with this late bout of snow, but no. The rules of the When When Contest clearly state that the contest is over when Mom and I look out the window in the morning and don't see any snow anywhere. If snow falls AFTER that day, then oh well, it's New England weather for you. Sorry Sparkle.

One Year, One City
Look, I can tell you all about the non-adventures in my life, but I'd be ignoring something a lot more important. A year ago a couple of angry young men tried to destroy a very special day in Boston, a city an hour's drive from my humble home. They killed three people, and changed forever the lives of many others. The city came together and became Boston Strong.
This photo from The Boston Globe, taken a week ago, shows some of the folks who were running, watching, or injured along with many first responders, doctors, policemen, and passersby who helped. You can go here for an interactive page of who's who.
The Boston Marathon will be run next Monday, and steps have been taken to make it a safe day. I may live in New Hampster, but Boston is in my back yard. I am Boston Strong.

Foggy
Not much going on here today. It's foggy, but is supposed to get really warm later today. Mom can't wait. She spent a lot of time yakking with Mr Karate last night and didn't get the house clean the way she usually does before the work week starts. Mom finished the back of the black and white quilt and now it is ready to go away for quilting. Mom says she's going to give the house a good clean.
I'll be in the tent.

What I did yesterday
Mom and I went to a quilt show yesterday. We saw lots of amazing quilts.
I liked the "Quilt with the Dragon Tattoo" by Nancy Arsenault from Tucson Arizona.
Mom liked this one by Melody Johnson. It's easy to tell that Mom loves color.
We visited with Cynthia from WOODbyC. Cynthia turns wood into tools. She makes beautiful things.
Naturally Mom had to buy some for herself.
Do you remember I told you Mom had to buy some unmentionables?
Well she bought some of those too!
Hahahahaha!

Sunny Saturday
The weather is finally warming up. It should hit 70F (21C) today, and I think everybody can agree that makes a fine day. Mom has already baked a batch of granola, run the laundry through the washing monster, and is going shopping later for some unmentionables. This afternoon she will go to a quilt show.
I shall nap in my cat hammock, or my tent, or my kitty condo. What will you do?

Black And White Thursday
Is the snow gone? Is it when? Let's look outside.
I am truly sorry Iza, but there is still snow on the ground. You have not won the When When Contest this year.

Not Yet When Wednesday
Marley, I am sorry, but there is still snow outside. You have not won the When When Contest. On the other paw, your fur-sister Iza has a good shot tomorrow.
Then again, I could be wrong.

Tuxie Tuesday
This is the chair where Mom usually dumps her stuff when she gets home, so that's why you haven't seen pictures of me in it.
Last night I was napping, minding my own business, when Mom approached with a bag full of quilts she will bring to a meeting later today. I was forced to tell her to put her stuff someplace else.
I mean, sheesh! I was napping, for heaven's sake!
It was warm yesterday, and it rained most of the night, but there is still snow out there. I am terribly sorry Poppy Q and KQ Sue, but you will not be the winners of the When When Contest.
It will be When soon, but when?
