Finally Friday

Mom has finished setting up the living room.  She says it's "perfect."

I have lots of places to nap, there are lots of sunpuddles and I can watch bird TV from any of the four windows in the room.

So I have to agree with Mom. I think the room is "purrfect."

Mom has only one room left to fix up, and she'll do that over the weekend.

Naturally I will snoopervise. In the meantime, I need to nap.

ps. Happy Halloween if you're into that kind of thing. Me, I don't "do" costumes.

Tuxie Tuesday

Here I am on the new couch, proving once again that I am the true Queen of the House. I can nap any place I choose. Last night I slept right here. Why not? It's soft, warm and cozy.

Millie Monday

Hey, just because Mom bought this chair for herself doesn't mean I can't take a nap on it.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

It's a lovely morning here in our corner of New Hampster. Mom has already done some sewing on her newest quilt (actually it's a tablecloth) and now we are watching tennis.

Sleepy Saturday

Sometimes Mom sleeps late on Saturdays. That means I don't get my foods on time, and I get hungry.

When I get hungry... well, what can I say?  I was hungry.

Finally Friday

Mom and I are very happy the weekend is here. It's been raining all week and it is supposed to be sunny. Mom has to blow leaves around and plant some tulip bulbs.

I shall stay inside and watch.

Millie in the Drawer

I'm still checking out every cabinet, closet and drawer. I was actually able to get into this one. Mom had to hurry to grab the flashy box to take this picture.

Heh.

Tuxie Tuesday

It is one of my biggest jobs to make sure Mom sits down and relaxes every day. Yesterday after she got home from day hunting we sat on the couch. She sewed on her quilt, and I purred. It doesn't get much better than that.

Millie Monday

It's almost the end of our leaf-peeping season, and the leaves are falling off the trees.  There are lots of trees around our new house. Some turned the color of this chair.

The leaves fall off the trees and get blown around. They fill the rain gutters on the sides of our house, and have to be removed or the gutters will get clogged, and the water can wreck the roof.  So yesterday Mom cleaned them out. She climbed up on a ladder and blew them out with a leaf blower. It made a heck of a racket, although it was fun to watch the leaves fly through the sky.  Mom says her butt is sore. Dunno how that could be.

Have I told you lately how glad I am to be a cat?

Abandoned

No, there are no pictures, but it's true. Mom opened the door to the porch last night, and I went outside to sniff around.

I came back inside to have dinner, but Mom didn't know I went out again, and found a nice hidey place to nap a bit.

Mom thought I was inside, turned out the light, closed and locked the door.

I was out on the porch as it got dark and cool.

Mom didn't notice for a couple of hours, and then suddenly the door opened and Mom was calling me, waving a bag of treats.  I didn't make any noise until she started shoving the boxes around, and then, because I was cornered, I let out a yowl. That didn't stop Mom.

It didn't stop another of the neighbor woofies from barking at me. I had a woofie barking behind me, and Mom shoving boxes around in front of me. I do not like being cornered, and this was very uncomfortable.

Mom moved stuff around so I would have an easy exit, and then she kept coming. She moved a chair and reached toward me, when I darted out of my hiding spot and back into the house.

Now, I was never in any REAL danger because the porch is fully screened in and there's no way I could get the porch door open, but still.  I got stuck out on the porch in the dark.

I think I'm gonna spend my weekend IN the house. Mom says we won't have porch days until next summer anyway.

Frisky Feline Friday

Mom spent last night looking at Mr Karate & Rubylocks's wedding pictures and choosing which ones to buy for her own album.

I spent the evening doing acrobatics on my kitty condo.  I plan to take it easy this weekend. That's what weekends are for, I think.

Still Warm

It was warm all day yesterday, and Mom left a couple of windows open for me so I could sniff the outdoors.  When she got home from her day hunting gig, I got to sit out on the porch again.

We live on a very, very, very quiet street. There are no motorcycles, no fast cars, no sirens, no streetlights, no people walking by talking or arguing. It is different outside, but I like it. There are lots of birds and skwirrls and chipmunks and other critters. We do see some folks walking their woofies every day. (Beau lives next door and Hector lives across the street.) The sky is dark out, and you can see lots more stars in the sky than at the old place.

The Porch

It was really warm (for October) when Mom got home from day-hunting last night, so she opened the door to the porch and let me go out there.  I stayed on the porch a long time, sniffing the outside and watching.

I really like the porch.

Tuxie Tuesday

I like the new couch. I can hide behind it, but mostly I love sitting next to Mom getting scritches.

Mom's almost finished setting up the new house. She's hung a lot of artwork and quilts, and organized most of the cupboards and closets. She still has to do the big bathroom, and she's put all the extra stuff in the office, so that room is very messy.  Usually I watch, but last night she was banging nails in the walls of the studio and that freaked me out, so I went UTB.

Have a nice Toosday, kitties!

Mom worked in her new sewing studio yesterday. Naturally I snoopervised from my perch on the kitty condo.

Weekend on Kitty Condo # 2

On Saturdays Mom gets up and does all kinds of silly stuff, like taking the sheets of the bed an putting them in the washing monster, emptying the trash and yesterday she brought stuff to the dump.

Me? I took advantage of the view outside the studio.

It is a good spot because there are things to look at all around.

Eventually, though, I needed a nap.

I am so lucky to have a heated cat cup ready for me any time I want a cozy napping spot.

Formerly Feral Friday

When Mom bought me the first kitty condo, I didn't go near it for a week.

But this one, I liked right away.

Don't tell Mom, but the reason I like this kitty condo is where it is in the house. I can see everything that goes on around here, inside and outside.

I'll sit on the other kitty condo when Mom is in that room working.

Or whenever.

There Will Be When Wednesday

Dear TBT, Ayla, Iza, Marley, and others who are wondering... YES! There will be a When When Contest (assuming we have snow this winter). Mom isn't quite sure which window we will use, but it might be this one.

In the meantime I have been giving this place the good once (twice, three times) over. I have been opening cabinets and sniffing what's inside. I have even tried to open drawers (with varying degrees of success). I have investigated the closets. The new kitty condo is my absolute favorite place to watch everything. Mom tells me there have been vishus deer spotted here too, along with wild turkeys. Whatever happens inside or outside, I have a perfect observation post.

Tuxie Tuesday

I have been sleeping right next to Mom, ON her bed every night since we moved in. (OK, not the FIRST night. I was so freaked out I slept UTB instead of OTB.) I have been having good times. I have been playing with toys and getting treats and finding all kinds of spiffy places to nap. Mom has seen me on BOTH my kitty condos, and I have used both litterboxes.  I know how to get around and have found all kinds of fun hiding places.

I am glad the M-word is all done.

Gone

Mom went to the old apartment yesterday to run the rug sucking monster all around, clean the place up.  She took these pictures of the empty place.

This is from the living room looking into Mom's sewing studio.

This was Mom's bedroom. She said she couldn't believe how tatty it looked. (I dunno what that means, but it doesn't sound nice.)

This is the dining rom.
This is the kitchen looking in from the dining room.

I already like the new place better.

Paper!

Firsts things first.  I slept right next to Mom on her bed all night last night.

Next, I spend a lot of time on the new kitty condo. I can see a lot from up there. (Derby & Ducky, the reason there are windows between Mom's bedroom and the studio is the studio is room that was added on to the house after it was built.)

Now on to the paper...
Mom wrapped all her stuff in paper so it wouldn't break while it got moved around.  She used lots of paper.

I have been having a lot of fun running around in it, and playing.

There's paper everywhere, and I think it's great.

Mom, not so much.

I Found It!

The new place is bigger than our old place, and all the stuff is in different places.  This house smells a lot different too. I have been sniffing everything. My sniffer has been getting quite a workout, so I have been taking frequent naps under the bed.  There are still towers of boxes everywhere, and piles of crumpled paper. I like the paper, the boxes, not so much.

However, in my travels today I found the new kitty condo!
I think I am going to like it.

I have, however, found all kinds of neat ways to navigate around the new place. There are windows between the bedroom and the sewing studio, so I can just hop through instead of walking the long way around, and I can travel behind our nice new couch if I want to stay hidden.

M-word Preview

Mom woke up early yesterday and put "tranks" in my foods. I'm no dummy. I wouldn't eat them.

However I got jammed in the crate anyway.
I was able to snoopervise.

Mom was as good as her word. She stayed with me the whole time. It took the giants just 90 minutes to fill the truck.

It took them about two hours to move it all into the new house.

I watched from the kitchen counter.

The first thing the brought into the house was my kitty condo.
After they left Mom opened the door to the crate. I stayed put.

I waited until it was safe and THEN I got out.

Where did I go?

Under the bed!!!

I waited a good long while. Then I went exploring. The new place is different. There is lots of stuff to investigate.

More later. This is the best mom and I could do using her cell phone to post.

The M-word Impementation

Today is The Day. Today is the day the M-word will be implemented. Mom will try to give me "tranks" and then catch me and put me in the cage where she thinks I will stay all day long.  She has made sure I cannot escape by attaching the bottom to the sides with tie-wraps. (Last time I was almost able to push the base out.)

Three guys and very big truck will be coming here. The guys will pick up every box and every piece of furniture and artwork and put it all in the big truck. Mom says I will go with her in the metal masheen. We will drive the 4.5 miles to the new house, and the guys will take everything out of the truck and put it in the house where Mom tells them to. I will be stuck in the cage until they leave.

Kitties, it will not be pretty. I know this.

Mom says when the guys and the big truck leave she will let me out of the cage. She says she will make sure my kitty condo (the one I have now), my litter box, my heated cat cup and other beds will be all set up, as will be my special foods place. THEN she will let me out of the cage and I can explore.

Mom says the innernets won't be set up until later tomorrow, but she will help me update my blog so you can all see what the new house looks like with all our junk our stuff.

You may see the stuff. I may hide under the bed.

Almost, But Not Quite

Mom has finished packing. The bureaus are empty. The drawers are empty. The cabinets are empty. The coldbox is (almost) empty. The bookcases are empty. The walls are bare. The basement is empty. The hallways are empty. The porch is empty. Even the big table has shrunk.

Today is not the day we implement the M-word, but it will happen very, very soon.  Mom was over there yesterday putting stuff away, hanging a blind in the kitchen and filling the coldbox there. Today some guys are going to suck the rugs and make them clean.  Yuk! I don't even want to think about that.

I do not like it this way. I want all my stuff. Mom says I shouldn't worry, that when she goes, I'll go too, but I have heard words like "tranks" and "cage" and I am pretty sure I won't be having a lot of fun.

I'll see you on the flip side, I guess.
