Snoozy Saturday
Mom and I are both relaxing today. Mom finished her Chicken Quilt and is going to take it easy. We'll be watching the tennis, and the snow falling outside.

Fabric Friendly Friday
I'm being nice here, lying on the fabric Mom is using for her Chicken quilt, instead of the quilt itself, which you can see in the foreground of this picture.
At least that's what Mom thinks. I slept on the quilt all night!
Heh!

Truthful Thursday
Lookit this crazy weather outside. This picture was taken yesterday morning (Mom has been busy sewing on her Chicken quilt.) It had rained all night, then the temperature went below freezing and everything froze. Mom's metal masheen was covered in ice. Then the weather got warmish, and the result was a thick fog. Mom says it was nasty driving because it was hard to see.
What I can see is how much of the snow is gone.

Tennis in Oz
Mom loves tennis. It is time for the Australian Open, so the only thing that will be on the picture box for the next two weeks (outside of Downton Abbey, Sherlock and my pals the guys named Pat) will be the tennis.
I sense prolonged periods for laptime and scritches.
Sounds good.
(but boy, oh boy, was Mom pissed at Julian Fellowes last night...)

Easy Like Sunday
I am napping in the sun.
We had some very interesting weather yesterday. The weatherguys said it was supposed to get warm, then rain, but that didn't happen. It stayed cold, and it rained.
Then it got warm (55F) and it got really foggy.
This is what it looks like this morning. It's a gorgeous day, sunny and 45F!
See that ice at the end of the driveway? Mom really wants that to go away. She fell on the ice on Friday. It was covered with a dusting of snow so she couldn't see it.
Enjoy your day!

Saturday Scritches
This is a selfie Mom took of me sitting on her lap while I got some scritches.
I know it looks weird, but yup, it's true. I get in Mom's lap on a fairly regular basis, and demand scritches.

Icky Monday
I am napping on the tall stool in the Office, on my window perch, in my heated cat cup. (I like to keep Mom guessing.) It is raining outside, and has been raining most of the night. The sun is up, although you can't tell from this photo.
While it rained most of the night, the temperatures were close to freezing, so that black road really very slippery and Mom will have to be careful when she drives to her day hunting gig in the metal masheen.
Yesterday Mom went to see the new Hobbit movie with Mim-may and Pip-pay. She was so tired later that she couldn't stay up to watch the first episode of Downton Abbey. Tsk Tsk. No spoilers, please!

Easy Like Sunday Morning
I am taking it very easy today. Mom is too, actually. She did all the house cleaning stuff yesterday so she is taking it easy today too. Later we will both watch the new season of Downton Abbey (No spoilers, please!)
This is what it looks like outside this morning.
The temperature is supposed to get above freezing later today, and it is supposed to rain. For those of you who are familiar with my almost-annual When When Contest, you know that although sun and warm temperatures melt snow, rain melts it faster. So we'll see what all this snow looks like tomorrow!
Have a nice day! Spend it napping in your favorite spot.

Brrr...
Don't let this lovely snowy scene fool you.
Check out the thermometer that's outside our house.
While this is certainly COLD, combined with the wind, the "wind chill factor" makes it more like -14F (-25C). Lookit what the weather guys say the temperatures are around different places in New Hampster:
and here is the "wind chill"
In weather like this it's best to be an inside cat.

Oh No, More Snow!
While I did this yesterday,
Mom took down all the Christy-mas decorations and put the Santa away.
all the decorations are in these four boxes which Mom brought down to the dungeon.
but that's not the biggest news. We're supposed to have a big, long snowstorm starting early Thursday morning and ending Friday afternoon. On Wednesday night schools in Mass and some in New Hampster have already cancelled classes for both Thursday AND Friday.
Mom has already decided to ask for a vacation day on Friday.
What can I say? It's winter in New Hampster.

2013 Wrap Up
2013 has been a busy year for Mom and me.
In January, Mom did lots of tippy-tapping.
We had a lot of snow in February.
Mr Karate came home in March and brought Rubylocks,
and Mom bought me a kitty condo.
In April we traveled to Mary-land to visit Monty's fambly.
In July we watched Andy Murray win Wimbledon.
In August we traveled to Catifornia to visit Mr Karate, Rubylocks and Yoda.
In September I discovered the Pacific Ocean.
In October Mom and I traveled to Mem-fiss and Saint Loo-eee and saw the Gateway Arch.
In November I helped Mom finish up some quilts.
In December I helped Mom decorate for Christymas.
It's been an exciting year. I traveled to fourteen states and got my very own busy-ness cards,
2013 has been a Very Good Year. Good bye 2013. Hello 2014.

Does This Look Like "Easy" to You?
On Sunday mornings, after Mom gives me my foods, do you know what she does? She goes into the kitchen and makes a mess. She does all kinds of stupid stuff. When she's all done, she helps me write a blog post, but by then it's almost lunchtime. I thought you deserved to know why my posts are often late on Sunday mornings.
This morning Mom took all kinds of stupid greenish stuff out of the cold box and cut it up. She cut up potatoes, carrots, parsnips, squash, onions, mush-rooms, something called a leek, celery and parsnips, and garlic. Then she put it in a big pan and shoved that in the hot-as-hell box.
They stayed in there for a long time, and then Mom took them out and put them in a giant pot she got as a present for Christymas, put water and soy sauce, peppercorns, bay leaves and yukky parsley in with it. Do you know what will happen next? The stuff will boil and smell up the whole house. And after that? Mom is going to throw the cut up vegies AWAY and keep the WATER they cooked in.
Go figure.
Mom's pretty pleased with herself about it. Dunno why. Sounds kinda silly to me.
And while that boiling was happening, Mom mixed a bunch of other junk in a big bowl. Oats, nuts, pumpkin seeds, coconut and cinnnnna-nninnina-mon and nutmeg. Then she added maple syrup and coconut oil, and now that stuff is in the hot-as-hell box.
Mom will add some stupid dried cranberries to it and then it will be "granola."
Granola, smanola, I'd rather have stinky goodness and 'Nip any day of the week.
After this Mom will clean the gigantic pile of dishes she made, have herself some breakfast and pronounce the morning "Good." Heck, the morning was "Good" before she made all that mess, but hey, she's my Mom and I love her.
Have I told you lately how glad I am to be a cat?

Saturday Caturday
Sorry I've been away. Mom got a cold on Christymas Eve and has been feeling poorly. She went day-hunting on Boxing day, but her Boss told her to go home, so she spent a lot of time sacked out on the couch. Here's proof:
(In case you all didn't think I take good care of my Mom.)
She's feeling better today, so she doesn't need me to hold her down. She's off spending the green papers that are trapped in all those plastic cards she got for Christymas.
Speaking of which. Remember Homer, the blind cat? His person wrote a book about him. Well, his person wrote another book, and this one is a story seen through a cat's point of view. Mom and I read it, and it's very good. It is called Love Saves the Day, and you can find all about it here. For you Kindle owners who have not read about Homer, Amazon has a special deal where you can get both books for the price of one.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have a heated cat cup and a nap I want to get back to...
(What did I get for Christymas, you ask? I got a stocking full of spiffy treats and 'Nip. The perfect gift.)

Holiday Photos
This is Mr Karate and Rubylocks modeling the hats they were given for Christymas.
As you can see, Mr Karate is very silly.
This is Mim-may and Missy-the-woofie enjoying the quilt Mom made for them.
This is Auntie Karate and my fur-cousin Roxy, who tried to lick the plates when Mom and Auntie Karate were putting them in the dishwasher. Roxy will eat anything.
Really. Anything.
Here's PlusOne, who loves nothing more than a gigantic pile of mashed potatoes.
Lastly, here I am enjoying my heated cat cup.
Happy Boxing Day!
