Millie Monday

It's starting to get chilly here in New Hampster. Mom has to call the lord of land, because when she turns on the heating monster down in the basement, the smoke detective down there starts beeping. She checked it all out - no smoke - but when the heating monster turned off, the beeping stopped.

So, as my Brit friends would say, she's not best pleased.

Oh, did I mention the lord of land is away on a trip right now?

Scritches Sunday

Here I am getting scritches from Mom. I've got her trained pretty good.

Now, if you'll excuse me.

(Mom, a little to the left please...)

Surprising Saturday

When the Hots are here, I only eat half my stinky goodness at breakfast and dinner. Mom usually leaves me some crunchies, but I don't eat them much. So Mom decided to see if I would like a new kind of crunchies.Um, yeah.

nom, nom, nom...

Thursday Thing

Mom has a new "thing."

Dunno what it's all about, but she's spent the last few nights parked in front of the tippy tappy lapbox tippy tapping for hours. No sewing, tippy tapping!

Tippy tappy, tippy tappy, tippy tappy... Then she runs to the other room and the other computer where she makes papers spit out of the printer. She looks at papers, draws squiggles on them, brings them BACK to the tippy tappy lapbox, does some more tippy tapping, then she throws the paper away!

Then she does it all over again!

Sometimes, before she draws the squiggles, she admires her handiwork while she eats.

There are papers ALL OVER THE PLACE! She has them piled on the desk, on the big table in the table room, on the coffee table, laying on the floor near the recliner, stacked up on the nightstand... you get the picture. Sometimes I see her rummaging through the various stacks. Then she'll find a piece of paper, and go back to tippy tapping.

Now, I've looked at those papers. There isn't anything special about them at all. Each one is just like the other. But hoo boy! Does she get her knickers in a twist if I mess up her stacks!

She says she's "busy" and working on a special project.

Frankly, I think she's lost her mind. I think she's obsessed. Last night I had to meow for a whole minute to get her to get up and give me my treats at treat-time.

I know I'm glad I'm a cat, but I think this is one of those times stronger action is called for.

Tattle Tale Tuesday

I have a few tales to tell today.

1. Mr FF attended the College of the Redwoods. He has never made furniture for any manufacturing company.

2. Mr Karate has a form of alopecia.

3. Mom is supposed to pack this box to go on a very long trip, and my lying here on top of this nice fleece (which is intended to go -in- the box) means I am an IBOL Kitteh.

Heh!

The Family Monday

There was a big family brunch at Mim-may's on Sunday. Here are Mr Fine Furnituremaker, PlusOne, and Mr Karate. (Mr FF is uncle to both "younger" boys.) Mr FF isn't a grouch, he just doesn't like being fussed over and having to pose in pictures.Mr FF used to play a musical instrument in high school, and listened to Mr Karate play cello.
Did you know that Mr FF and Mr Karate have the same first name?Do you think they look alike?
What about now?

A good time was had by all.

My Tabby Man

I have seen a picture of Monty, sans furs. (No, I'm not going to show you.) I know what it's like to get shaved, so I know how funny he feels. He's the same Monty, but I'll tell you something you might not know.

He -isn't- fat.

In fact, he's a lean, mean, handsome feline machine...

MY feline machine!

Surprising Saturday

Mom spent the whole day yesterday with her brother, Mr Fine Furnituremaker. You can read about it on her quilting blog. I was left to fend for myself. Fortunately there are plenty of good places to nap, and there was a big bowlful of stinky goodness, and another of my favorite crunchies along with several bowls of water. It was a nice warm day, and Mom had windows open so I could sit in the sun and smell the nice warm smells.

However.

This morning, news of an alarming nature reached me.

Monty's beans have been on vacation the last few days (visiting some weirdos named Mickey, Pluto, Minnie and Tinkerbell, among others). Monty was sent to kitty jail. But that's not the worst part.

The worst part is...

is... is... (I am so sorry, I'm having a hard time getting it out...) he was...

he was...

shaved clean.

(gasp!)

Yes. He was shaved clean. He is now a nekkid tabbyman.

I think I have to go lie down now.

Thursday Thought

Mom's brother, Mr Cabinetmaker, from the high desert of Color-ado is visiting New Hampster. Mom hasn't seen him in six years.

I think that means she's gonna spend a lot of time with him over the next few days.

Oh well.

Mooshie is One Year old today!Happy Birthday to You!
Happy Birthday to You!
Happy Birthday dear Mooshie!
Happy Birthday to You!

This picture was taken when Mom and I visited last March. Now Mooshie is bigger, and he's walking!

Mom and I love Mooshie so much!

Millie Monday

I was hiding out all weekend. Sometimes I was under the bed, sometimes I was in my tent.

One time, I was on Mom's new quilt. She says I was on her lap, but I wasn't. I was on the new quilt. If the new quilt was covering her legs, that's different.

She didn't get any pictures, so she can't prove anything.

Heh.
There is still time to vote for your favorite cats in Monty's Do The Q Contest!

Where Am I?

(Hint: I'm NOT in the tent.)

Friday, September 17, 2010

Finally Friday!

Mom got this new quilt from a friend of hers. You can read about it on her quilting blog. As you can see, I am giving it a very thorough QA test. Mom can have it when I'm finished.

Maybe.

Thursday Thoughts

The Hots have gone. Mom's got the windows closed. I'm spending most of my time on anything fleece I can find (fortunately there is -lots- of it around) and on the fleece pillow in my nifty tent. The tent is up against the heater, so it's going to be nice and toasty once the heating monster going.

Mom says not yet.

Oh and she says the upstairs next-door neighbors are being really obby-nox-ess. Actually, that's not the word Mom said. Mom used a few words from the bad werds list. Dunno what that's all about, but it's really got her upset.

Have I told you lately how glad I am to be a Cat?

Sit!

I'm always telling Mom to sit down so I can get my scritches. Lookit what the man in the bloo shorts brought yesterday! A little chair quilt that says SIT! Maybe now Mom will listen.

(Mom's pal Lucinda made this little quiltie for her.)

Oh! Did you see Rafa last night! What a match! I am so happy he won, and got the Career Grand Slam! Whee!
