Rain

It's raining and we need it. I can watch that from the porch too.

Rain

It was raining this hard all night. Can you see the water running down the hill? It was just like that. I think Mom might need boots AND her umbrella when she goes day hunting later. It was pounding on our metal carport and the awnings. It splashed on the screens in the sewing studio. Mom opened the door to the front porch so I could check it out.

We needed the rain, but not like this.

(btw, this photo was taken in May. It was too dark to get a picture of what it really looked like.)

Finally Friday

It keeps raining. I can't wait for it to stop. Fortunately, I can watch the rain from the porch and not get wet. I really like the porch.

Mom is feeling good, but is always tired. She lies on the couch and reads or watches the tennis. Last night she was in bed by 9 PM, which is pretty amazing for her.

I keep trying to tell her, napping solves most problems!

Wet Week

Yesterday it rained.

It rained so hard the rain ran down the street like a little river. Fortunately we live on a hill, and the water flowed down and into the grate in the street.

When Mom was working in the garden yesterday, she saw this little guy hiding near the downspout. I'm sure he's happy today with all the rain. It's supposed to rain most of the week, and we need the rain, so that's good.

Tuxie Tuesday

It's raining out. Mom says it will rain most of the week. I think we should send the rain to sunny Catifornia. They need it a lot more than we do.

April Showers

It was 61F yesterday, and it never got below freezing last night. It is supposed to rain most of the day today. Remember what I said about rain? It melts the snow faster than the sun does.  The snow is really go-go-going. When will it be gone? I don't know, but I think it's coming (I mean going) soon!

Mom has a lot of errands to do today.

Me? Not so much.

Got Rain? We do.

I am watching the rain.
There's lots of it.

I'd be happy to send it to my friends in Catifornia, who need it, but I am pretty sure it's beyond my Cat Powers to do so.

Rats.

Soggy Saturday

It's raining out, and it's chilly. I'm hiding out under the bed.  Hey, I don't like being predictable!

Rain Rain Go Away

Honestly, it has been raining for days and I am very tired of it.

Yucky Monday

JJ, I am sorry, but instead of the snow going away, we got a little bit overnight and as you can see there is still snow on the ground. You are not this year's winner of the When When Contest.

Mom cleaned the house yesterday, which included dragging the rug sucking monster in all the rooms. It looks nice in here, I have to say. She hasn't been "motivated" most of the winter, and now she is happy. She finished a nifty black-and-white quilt she's been working on, and that makes her feel good.

It ought to. It is made of MY COLORS! It only took her how many years to make a quilt inspired by my furs (and Gizzy and Jasmine's)?  Anyways, after she finishes a quilt she always cleans the house.

I am celebrating by camping out in the nifty tent she made for me.

Finally Friday

Mom is really happy it is Friday because it has been a rough week with all the snow.  Lookit! It's been RAINING all night. Remember yesterday I said that sun melts snow, but rain melts it faster?  Well I'm not just whistling Dixie.

This snow is gonna melt for sure, we just don't know WHEN. That's where YOU and your furry furriends come in. YOU hafta enter my When When Contest and GUESS. It's easy. You just pick a day and tell me in the comments of THIS post. Only a coupla cats picked a date in March, and the snow often does melt before the end of March, so there are lots of good guessing days left.  It's supposed to rain for a couple of days, and we're going to have some sun tomorrow, so that will help.

Mom wants it GONE and SOON, but nothing she can do can make it go faster, so we might as well have some fun watching it GO.  The deadline for entering is midnight tonight, and we need a lot more guesses to make this a really fun contest.

This is the 6th (I think) year of the When When Contest. Let's make it the best ever!

Now I am going back to the top of my kitty condo and take a nap.

Icky Monday

I am napping on the tall stool in the Office, on my window perch, in my heated cat cup. (I like to keep Mom guessing.) It is raining outside, and has been raining most of the night. The sun is up, although you can't tell from this photo.

While it rained most of the night, the temperatures were close to freezing, so that black road really very slippery and Mom will have to be careful when she drives to her day hunting gig in the metal masheen.

Yesterday Mom went to see the new Hobbit movie with Mim-may and Pip-pay. She was so tired later that she couldn't stay up to watch the first episode of Downton Abbey.  Tsk Tsk.  No spoilers, please!

Rain, Rain, GO AWAY

Mom says we should be grateful it rains around here, because so many places aren't getting any and they are at risk for fires.  I know she means well but I'm beginning to feel a bit waterlogged.

Every day this week we have had sudden downpours, and then fifteen minutes later it stops and the sun comes out. The weather liars say it should be sunnier the next few days. I don't even mind it the hots come back if the sun is out.

Every night after she gets home from day-hunting Mom has had to tip over her garden pots and let the water run out. She says her some of her basil is suffering, that it's yellowish and spindly.  Still, she made a batch of pesto last weekend, so that's good.

Mom says she's been wrestling with words for her talk in Saint Loo-is later this year, but really, all she's been doing is tippy tapping on her little lapbox.  I've been napping in all my cool spots, avoiding the flashy box.

Tuesday

It's been raining here every day for the last several days. Sure the sun comes out for a bit, but then it goes away and we get heavy rain and lots of cracks and booms.  I do not like crack-and-boom-storms, so I hide. When I hide, Mom can't take any pictures of me.  So I sent her outside to take a picture of how green and wet everything is.

This is what she came back with. It is a boo-kay of the yukky green junk she grows in her garden.

Sigh!

Hooman beans.  Can't live with 'em. Can't live without 'em.

Rain, Rain, GO AWAY

I mean it! Holy Bast! We have had so much rain Mom has had to tip over her garden pots to get the extra water out.

And it's cold. Where are the hots? Where is the Sun?

Sandy's Coming

You all know that hurricane Sandy is coming. She's not coming HERE, but her winds will visit us here in New Hampster and may knock out our electricity. Mom is all stocked up with foods for both of us, and we have flashlights and batteries.  Let's hope that all our friends in the mid-Atlantic region and Mew Jersey are all safe and sound.

I'm gonna be camped out behind the recliner on my soft fleece pillow.  See ya later!

Millie Monday Monday

Yesterday, I was napping, and Mom was doing what Mom does on the weekend. Then all of a sudden, I looked up from my napping spot and saw her in bed, sleeping.

In her pajamas.

At three o'clock in the afternoon.

I mean, I know it's been raining and the weather's been cold and crappy, but seriously...

Mom. Napping. In the middle of the day...*

Holy carp!  Maybe there's hope for her after all!!

*Mom's fine. She's just been staying up too late reading and watching tv.

Rainy Day

It is raining.  Mom says it's good, because after our dry winter, we need the rain. Can you see the trees outside?  The leaves are coming out, and everything is getting nice and green.

Mom is recovering from her big weekend. Last night she sat in the recliner and read a whole BOOK!  Not on her Kindle, either, this was a book book with real pages.

Naturally I sat right next to her and got lots of scritches.

You know what her project for the week is?  She has to write stuff on paper to convince a bunch of ladies in Saint Loo Ess to let her talk.

Go figure.
