Crack and Boom

When the weather gets really hot and sticky, we get crack and boom storms. We had one yesterday that was a doozy. Many homes in New Hampster lost power (but not us.)  This is what the sky looked like yesterday just before the storm hit.

I did not stay on the porch.

A Little Wordy Wednesday

Mom brought a friend home for dinner last night, so I stayed behind the couch. I did come out to say hello, but we had crack-and-boom storms all night long, so I went back behind the couch. Mom and her pal (they day-hunt together) had a good time cooking, talking, laughing and eating.

Have I mentioned lately how much I hate crack-and-boom storms?

It has been hot and humid and sticky for about four or five days. Really ickky weather. Mom says the muggies are done for a few days so it should be more comfortable. We got a lot of rain, though, so at least the garden will be happy.

Almost Wordless Wednesday

Every morning Mom opens up the porch so we can enjoy the fresh air, the light, and the sounds. Sometimes I go on the porch, and sometimes I lie right here on the rug. It is raining. Again. And it is thundering.

So I am here and not on the porch.

Tuesday

It's been raining here every day for the last several days. Sure the sun comes out for a bit, but then it goes away and we get heavy rain and lots of cracks and booms.  I do not like crack-and-boom-storms, so I hide. When I hide, Mom can't take any pictures of me.  So I sent her outside to take a picture of how green and wet everything is.

This is what she came back with. It is a boo-kay of the yukky green junk she grows in her garden.

Sigh!

Hooman beans.  Can't live with 'em. Can't live without 'em.

Weather Wednesday

The hots are coming. We're supposed to have a heat wave, which is 3 or more days in a row with the temperature 90F (32.2C)  or higher. I'm getting ready. 

Heh.

Mom says we are also supposed to have some strong crack-and-boom storms today. I'll be under the bed when they come through.

Thoughtful Thursday

We didn't have any of the bad storms that hit our neighbors in Mass-a-choo-cats yesterday. The weather guys said if there is a tornado warning to hide in the basement or an "interior space." Mom says this drawer doesn't count. Bast!

Whole Lot of Nuthin' Going On

While Mom was making dinner for herself last night, the weather guys interrupted the wheelie game she was watching to warn everybody about bad crack-and-boom storms with tornado warnings! We weren't in that area, but Mom could see we were gonna get a lot of rain, so she turned the computer off.

When it got dark and rainy and the wind started blowing the rain against the windows, I was a little bit freaked out, but I sat next to Mom and she petted me. I felt better.

Afterwards, she ate her dinner (I had eaten my stinky goodness much earlier) and then sat down and read a book! No sewing, no computer, no pictures.

Just a whole lot of nuthin' going on!

Crack and Boom!

According to the news, lots of places had bad crack-and-boom storms yesterday. There was a Tornado watch in New Hampster. Tornadoes in New Hampster???? That's like snow in Hawaii! It was crazy weather. It was sunny, then it got cloudy and windy, and rainy. Then it got sunny again, then it rained agai. What you can't see in this picture was that it was sunny at the same time it was pouring rain.
I found a good place to hide.

Crack and Boom

You know I do not like Crack and Boom storms. Yesterday we had a BIG one. And it rained. Mom said it was raining cats and dogs, but that's the stupidest thing I ever heard. Cats don't go out in that.

Mom came home late from her day hunting gig last night, but this time she brought home something worthwhile. She had stopped at the store and brought me lots of stinky goodness and a new mink mousie! Oh joy!



P.S. It's my birthday tomorrow! I'll be THREE!

Hot and Sticky Hiding Spot

We've had a lot of weather the tv weather guys call HHH. Hot, hazy & humid. When it's that hot, I lie under the couch. Mom can hardly see me, and had to get down really low just to take this picture. See that pink blankie? That's the same blankie that was in the box with me when I came to live here.

Where does Jasmine go? She goes in Mom's closet. That's a Millie-free zone.

We're supposed to have more HHH weather today, and some crack-and-boom storms too.

Yech.
