Easy Like Sunday
We got a few inches of wet, slushy snow Friday night, but the temperatures have been above freezing, so a lot of it has melted already. It won't stay around long. We're taking it easy today. But lookit this! Mom brought her suitcase out from the back of her closet.Seventeen days until we go to Mary-land! Woo hoo!

Rainy, Windy Formerly Feral Friday
We've had a lot of rain, and it's been very windy. The eleck-trik-city went out three times last night. It's back on, but many in New Hampster are not so lucky. It was really scary with all the wind blowing. There were sounds of banging and clattering and things got blown off porches and rolled away. Somebody's doormat is in the middle of the street. Can you see it in the picture Mom took this morning? We are supposed to have more rain and snow for the next THREE days! I needed some extra petting to make me feel better. Mom's got to hunt the ever elusive Month End today, and she'll be getting home really really late tonight. I am so very lucky to be formerly feral and to live a happy, safe life inside!
Thursday Treats
Lookit! Mom got her quilt for the Doll Quilt Swap, and her partner sent ME treats! She sent me red heart-shaped 'Nip Raviolis! OH! They are SO awesome, as you can see!
Thank you so much Jodie!

Millie & Miller Monday
You don't think I slept ALL DAY yesterday, do you? Because I didn't. I watched Bode Miller win a Gold Medal at the Olympics! Bode Miller is from New Hampster! Woo hoo!

Sweet Sunday
It was a nice sunny day yesterday. I napped in the hammock.
Mom went to the evil little chocolate store yesterday, and bought chocolate. Some Most of it is for our trip to Mary-land, some is to go with her Doll Swap Quilt, and there is a box for the winner of the When When Contest.
Some was for Mom to eat.
Mom likes Chocolate the same way I like 'Nip, so I think it's a good thing she indulges herself once in a while.

Sunny Saturday
Mom has finished the quilt for Mooshie. She wants me to lie on it so she can take a picture. What does she think I am? A dog?
Pfft!

Finally Friday!
Mom's really happy today is Friday. She will finish Mooshie's quilt tonight while watching the Olympics on tv. (You can watch anything you missed here.)
She has been watching something called "Curling." I confess I do not see the point of throwing a rock into a house. Sounds kinda silly to me. It's even sillier when you see grown beans hurrying to clean the ice so the rock goes where they want it to. I mean, the thing's got a handle! If they want the rock in the house, why don't they just pick it up and put it there?

This is my favorite little sticky person. Isn't he cute? This is Mooshie, and he belongs to Monty.

Got Snow Wednesday!
We finally got that snow! It didn't start until late yesterday afternoon, which made Mom's drive home from her day hunting gig a real adventure. You've seen sixty squillion pictures of the snow during the day, so I thought you might like to see this one, taken just before it got really dark.
Mom says it supposed to be sunny and warm over the next couple of days, so the snow won't be hanging around much. But go see Monty! The When When Contest has moved to Mary-land, so be sure to enter the contest, by leaving a guess in the comments of THIS POST!
Now, for those of you who aren't interested in snow, here's a new picture of me. Mom took this while working on Moochie's quilt.
As you can see, I'm fine. I just needed a little break after watching New Hampster's Bode Miller win a medal at the Olympics.

Snow When!
Monty and I have decided that since the snow is at his house (and not mine), we will have the When When Contest in Mary-land.
Here's how it will work:
Sometime on Monday, MomBean will post a picture of the snow at their house.
The cat, woofie or bun who guesses the date when there is NO MORE SNOW when MomBean looks out the window will get a prize.
Every day MomBean will get up and take a picture of the same view and post it on Monty's blog. On the day she wakes up and THERE IS NO SNOW ANYWHERE IN THE PICTURE will be THE DAY. If you guess the EXACT day, you will get a prize. If NOBODY guesses the EXACT DAY, the cat who guessed the day CLOSEST TO the day, but not AFTER the day, will get the prize.
Here are the rules:
1. Each cat, woofie or bun gets ONE GUESS EACH.
2. Guesses must be in the comments of this post
3. Deadline is Midnight Wednesday February 17, 2010. (So when it isn't Wednesday anywhere in the world, the voting will be over.)
4. You have to have a blog, or leave some way for us to get in touch with you, so we have to know who you are. If you have a blog, you're good to go.
5. It's
This year's When When Contest will probably be a quick contest, not only because Mary-land doesn't usually get -any- snow (and this year they got Snow-mageddon) but it's usually a lot warmer in Mary-land than New Hampster. Nobody knows how long it will take the snow to melt, so we don't have any idea what dates might be the best.
The prize will be treats, some of the famous evil little chocolates, and bragging rights!
Have fun, and good luck!

Happy Valentine's Day
Happy Valentine's Day to all my dear friends (too many to mention individually), readers, followers and to my sweetie, Monty Q. Happy Valentine's Day also to my Mom, and all the other Moms and Dads and fambly members.Mom and I will be in Mary-land for Mooshie's dunking in 31 days. We are working on the quilt for Mooshie. You can see me checking out Mom's work on the Rocket House block. Monty and I are both in it along with some of our friends.

Finally Friday!
Mom's really happy it's Friday. She's been working on Mooshie's quilt, which I can't show you. She really wants to finish it up. There's too much to do to get it done this weekend, but she is looking forward to sewing very much. We are both eager to watch the Winter Olympics.
I like the ski jumping, and curling. I am an excellent jumper, and I curl up real well. I bet I could win a medal.

Thursday Thoughts
Lookit me, sitting in Mom's drawer full of what she calls "unmentionables." Why call them unmentionable, I keep wondering? The drawer is full of them, and Mom puts some on every day. I like this drawer as a place to watch things.
I can watch Mom get ready for her day hunting gig, I can look out two windows, and I can watch the birds outside from the same spot.
I can't watch Mom sew on Mooshie's quilt, and I can't watch the Olympics from here, and Mom closes the drawer before she goes day-hunting, but for a little while every day, it's the best spot in the world.

Snow: Been There, Done That
In case you snowbound cats have the feeling that Mom doesn't feel sorry for you with all the snow you have gotten in the last week, I have news.
You are right. She doesn't. This picture was taken seven years ago after a particularly nasty series of storms. That's an old Ford Escort in the driveway. The snowbanks on either side were higher than Mom.
So snow, been there, done that.
Your turn.

Dunno When
Everybody keeps asking me if Mom and I are going to have the When When Contest again this year. Well, first of all we gotta have SNOW on March 1st. This is what it looks like outside this morning. The average snowfall for this part of New Hampster is 42" per year. The first year of the When When Contest, we got almost 120" of snow, almost three times more than normal. Last year, we got over 90" of snow, almost twice as much as normal.
This year, we have had 39" of snow, and the winter isn't over yet. We are expecting snow tomorrow, but it won't be as much as my pals in Mary-land and Furr-ginia have received in the last few days.
So instead of When When, it's Wait, Wait!

Easy Like Sunday Morning
This is my current favorite napping spot. It's soft and warm. I am very lucky. We didn't get any stormy weather here yesterday. There was 3-1/2" inches of rain at Megan's house, almost three feet of snow in Mary-land and Furr-ginia, a couple of feet in O-hi-o and mudslides in Rusty's neighborhood.
Mom says we're not out of the woods yet, that snow might be coming later this week. I dunno if I can believe her though, because I've lived here 3-1/2 years, and this house hasn't moved at all in that time. And we certainly aren't in any woods.

Saturday Caturday
It's funny to be hearing about a big snowstorm in the news and not be in the middle of it. I hope my sweetie Monty Q is staying warm and cozy inside with his fambly. Any of my cat pals who want to teleport over to my house to escape the snow are more than welcome.

A Little Adjustment
Mom got a new computer monitor with a few of the green papers she got from this Uncle Sam guy. The rest went to her our tickets to Mary-land and she gave lots of green papers to some guys named Bill. The monitor is nice and sharp, but she says the colors need a bit of adjusting, as they are pretty strong.
Oh, Monty, I love you lots darling, but if you think the snow that fell at your house belongs to me, well then, get used to it... I hear you're gonna get a lot more this weekend!
PS, I do not live in that yellow house. That is the house across the street.

Millie, Mooshie, Monty, Mary-land Monday
Forty-four days and counting....until I go to Mary-land with Mom for a certain Little Sticky Person dunking. I will get some time with my sweetie, Monty Q (who takes special pride in protecting little Mooshie while Mooshie naps). Mom will make cooking magic in the kitchen.
I can't wait!
Mom's gotta finish up the quilt for little Mooshie, and stock up on some Evil Little Chocolates.
