When I watch the birds outside, I am very quiet. When Mom watches the Tennis, she is very noisy. It's gonna be noisy here for the next few days, because Mom LOVES to watch the Tennis.
Yes, the cat cup I was sitting in yesterday is the same cat cup Mom bought over two years ago that I have never used. I was just testing it yesterday. I didn't stay in it very long. I'm not saying I'm going to use it a lot, but I had to check it out. You know how it is...

Honoring Senator Edward Kennedy
Today I would like to honor the life of Senator Edward Kennedy, a tireless champion of the disenfranchised. He was a consummate politician who knew how to get things done in Washington in a bipartisan way.
He will be sorely missed.

Family Friday
My favorite Mary-land Blue Crabs (KidBean and SweetBean & their Mom and Dad) sent Mom a lovely note and some drawings from KidBean. Mom got home late from a rough day of day hunting feeling all snarky when she found this in the mail. She went from snarky to squee-ing in ten seconds flat.
Bast, that woman needs a vacation!
(Monty Q, honey, thanks so much for making sure everything was up to snuff. I can tell you checked it out! ***smootchies***)

Millie IBOL Monday
Well, hello there! As you all know, I am an internet celebrity. I didn't ask for this. I got hitted by a car and almost went to the Rainbow Bridge. Malcolm rescued me, and lots of beans and cats on the internet contributed green papers to help pay the v-e-t bills.
As a celebrity, I feel obligated to help give back. A couple of days ago I told you all about the Iraqi Bundles of Love Project. Beans who sew and knit thought this was a terrific idea. But if your bean doesn't have roomfuls of extra fabric, it was a bit hard to contribute.
Not anymore.
Mr IBOL has made a deal with Sew, Mama, Sew, an online store, and they are offering a prepacked bundle for the insanely inexpensive price of....
Fifteen Dollars! (15USD)
For 15 US Dollars, the lovely folks at Sew, Mama, Sew will pack a bundle and send it to Mr IBOL. What's in this box, you ask?
They are offering 150 bundles. If you would like to contribute, click HERE to order. (You can even pay with Paypal.)
That I am alive today is proof positive that there are a lot of good people in the world, and if the IBOL project helps make the world a better, safer place for everybody, then I'm all for it.
Mom packed up two more boxes yesterday to send to Mr IBOL. One of then was -completely- filled with fleece! This is a project I really believe in.
Thanks for your support.

IBOL Box Ready to Fly
Mom and I filled a box full of stuff for the IBOL (Iraqi Boxes of Love Project). It has some big pieces of fabric, and an old baby quilt top Mom never finished. It's got thread, and needles and pins. It's got safety pins, elastic and buttons. Mom even got some yarn and knitting needles to add. I have checked everything out, as I usually do, and this box is ready.
Mom and I am really happy about this box.

IBOL Project
I need to ask you all a favor, it's a biggie, and you can all help: A quilt blogger, Kristin, has a husband who's currently serving in Iraq and has got a little side project going.
It's called Iraqi Bundles of Love, and it we can all participate. He's coming home soon, and he wants to leave behind something of value. You can read about the idea here, at Kristin's blog: http://kristinlaflamme.com/musings/?p=1102
So he's asking for fabric, yarns, pins, needles, thread, etc. You put all this neat stuff in a USPS Large Flat Rate Box and send it out. All the information is on his blogs. You have to leave a comment to get the shipping address, and you have to act fast. The deadline for shipping from the US is September 7.
If you live outside the US, you can participate too, leave a comment on the blog Iraqi Bundles of Love, and Mr IBOL will email you.
Here's the FAQ: http://ibol.wordpress.com/faq/
Here's information about what to send: http://ibol.wordpress.com/2009/08/05/what-to-send/
How to build a bundle: http://ibol.wordpress.com/building-a-bundle/
Mom and I are getting a box ready. Care to join me? Let's show Mr IBOL what Cats and Dogs in the blogosphere can do!

Cold Air and Closed Doors
You all know I don't like being in a room with the door closed. This makes Mom uncomfortable at night, when she has the air colditioner going in her bedroom. So last night she hung up this fabric as a curtain. She tacked it to the partially closed door (which is why it looks so funny right now).
Such luxury! I was able to go in and out without waking her up. And I got to sleep in the nice cool bedroom last night! You should have seen her jump when I came out from behind the big chair this morning! Ha ha ha!
Today is Roxy's second Blog-o-versary! You have to go over and give her the Paw's Up for two fun years!

Millie Monday
When the hots are here, the window gets closed, and the coldbox comes on. It's a bit comfy-er to watch the birds outside.
As you can tell, Mom finished her big quilt. You can read more about that here.

Family Friday: PlusOne Bakes!
PlusOne came over yesterday and he and Mom baked Brownies, and made a Yellow Cake with Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting. You can see PlusOne liked the frosting.
His Mom and Dad (Auntie Karate & Mr Big) came to pick him up, and before they left, half the brownies were gone. They took the brownies and the cake with them.
I have it on good authority there was nothing left by the time they all went to bed last night.
...I'm betting Roxy didn't get any.

Three Thursday Things
This is a nice spot.... oh, three things...
1. Mom's got a video tour of her sewing room over here if you want to go see it. Me, I'm just gonna nap...
2. PlusOne will be coming over later. Mim-may has been teaching him how to bake English Muffin Bread. Mom's gonna teach him how to bake brownies!
3. Mom made Basil Pesto with all the Basil she picked from her garden yesterday.
...zzzZZZZZzzzz...

World Cat Day
Woo hoo! It's World Cat Day!I don't care if Mom cleaned up the entire sewing studio and cleared off the table, and was getting ready to work. If I want to nap there, I'll nap there.I mean, like, seriously. Whose house is this anyway? I thought every day was a Cat Day.
Mom's just bummed because her metal masheen had to spend the day in the metal masheen hospital because the injin light came on while she was driving to her day hunting gig, and it cost more green papers.

Tuesday Treats!
Lookit the neat presents my friend Oreo sent me! Turkey Temp-tay-shuns treats, Turkey stinky goodness, a bouncy toy, some primo 'Nip and a bird toy that chirps!
Mom got a quilting book, a stinky bar of soap in a fussy box, and this bird and scissors. Mom's so dense, she JUST FIGURED OUT that the bird is a PINCUSHION and the bird's flaps are for her hand sewing needles!!!
My stuff is way better. Way Better.
Thanks Oreo!

Presents!
The man in bloo shorts brought me a package! It was full of presents from my friend Oreo and his Mom in Furr-ginia! The presents were for Mom for her birthday and me for my Gotcha Day (coming up on Wednesday). There was a quilting book for Mom, and birds and smelly good stuff for each of us.
Really!
You'll just have to wait until later to see more!

She Loves Me Sunday
Mom loves me. I know she does. How do I know? This bag is full of stuff Mom bought yesterday, and it's all for me!Lookit! There's Breeze pellets and pads for my Breeze box, enough stinky goodness in my favorite flavor for a whole week, and Temptations treats.
I'm glad she loves me. I just wish she wouldn't stick that flashy box in my face when I'm trying to sleep!
PS, the man in the bloo shorts left us a box with Presents yesterday! I will show those off tomorrow! (thank you Oreo!)
