Memorial Monday

Remember a few weeks ago when I told you about some of the things Mom carried around with her wherever she went? I told you one of them was special, but I didn't tell you which one.

It is this one, and when you look at the picture below, you will know why it is so very special, why Mom has been wearing it every single day, and why Mom and I chose this day to show you.

Prayers Needed

Millie's Mom, Lynne here:

This is Monty Q's new babybean, affectionately called "Sprout." I am her godmother.

Sprout bounced herself out of her seat and fell headfirst onto the kitchen floor yesterday, earning herself a trip in the ambulance to the local hospital, and then a helicopter ride to Children's Hospital 2 hours away.

As far as I know no bones were broken and she can move her arms and legs and recognizes her mother's voice. Those are good signs, but I don't know anything else.

She and her family need our prayers, good thoughts and support for a full recovery. I'll post more information as I get it, with her parents' permission.

Thanks.

Mom and Sprout

KidBean took this picture of Mom and Sprout this morning. Mom was holding Sprout and she fell asleep in Mom's lap.

HeBean and SheBean love Sprout's quilt. You can see a preview of it here, on Mom's Quilting blog.

It's finished!

Mom and I worked on the SSP last night. I snoopervised and did the final QA check.

I checked it for softness, color, and texture. I sniffed it, and added my own special scent. I made sure it was made with love and purrs. I made sure it had good positive vibes, because little Sprout will be sleeping under it, and she needs to be protected. It passed with flying colors.

Tuxie Tuesday Tattle-Tale Tease

OK, Here's a picture of your favorite Tuxie girl, tattling on the final stages of the SSP. Yes, I am lying on It. You can see a corner.

Mom has finished tying ten gazillion squilllion knots, and now the quilt is ready for the final step, which Mom will do later tonight. Mom had a self-imposed deadline of June 30th for this project, and she will only be off by one day. (Of course, the house hasn't been cleaned in I dunno how long but...)

So now the SSP, or rather the -Quilt- is off the floor, and on the table. Here is a picture;
You really didn't think you were going to get a picture of the quilt itself, now did you? C'mon, you should all know by now how tricksy Mom can be. This is a picture of the back of the quilt, with Mom's signature sewn in.
Isn't this fabric pretty? It's like a kaleidoscope of peacocks, butterflies, hearts and flowers. You can click the picture to biggify.

Mom will say this. When she knew she was going to be --------- -- --------, and would be making a quilt for Sprout, she started ordering fabric. She got lots of pretty things with flowers and ribbons and girly stuff. Except for this fabric, which was always going to be the backing of the quilt, (and which she had to order an additional 3 yards), Mom couldn't use ANY of the other stuff she bought.

See, she got a little idea, that grew and grew. It pestered her, and nagged her, until finally she surrendered. She knew she couldn't make the cute little baby quilt she had originally planned. She had to go with this new idea.

Instead of taking a week, this quilt took three months. Trust me, when you see it on July 26, you are all gonna faint. I don't know if Monty's jar of smelling salts is gonna be big enough.

Thursday Thirteen SSP Hints

OK, everybody! You guys wanted hints about the Super Secret Project (SSP). Mom and I decided to give you hints.

We'll give you 13. But you won't be getting any more until the Big Reveal at 6:00 PM on July 26, so don't bother asking.

I have some private thoughts I want to share about it, so they are in italics!

Thirteen Hints about the SSP (and a Bonus Hint)

1. It involves fabric. (Duh)

2. Mom will use the sewing machine to make it. (Double Duh)

3. In this next picture, I am lying ON the SSP (the brown tote bag on the right has NOTHING to do with it.)

4. Mom is designing it as she goes.

5. She's not 100% sure where it's going. (DUH! It's going to Mary-land!)

6. There is RED in the SSP.

7. There is ORANGE in the SSP (this butterfly is in it.)8. There is YELLOW in the SSP.
9. There is GREEN in the SSP. (click the pictures to biggify)
10. There is BLUE in the SSP. (And there is PINK, too!)

11. There is BLACK in the SSP. (Not much, I promise)

12. There is gonna be VIOLET in the SSP.
13. Violette is gonna sleep UNDER it!
BONUS HINT:
It's BIG!

OK, so now you know the SSP is a quilt that Mom is making, that has all the colors of the rainbow in it, that it's BIG, and that it's going to go to live with Sprout in Mary-land.

You wanna know WHY?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm not telling. You gonna have to ask Monty.
