Mom just added the binding on this big quilt. She put in on this red chair and went to do something else, but I knew this quilt needed some of my furs.
What better way to do that than to take a bath?
In other news, Mom decided to get me some help in keeping mice outside our house. She hired an ex-term-inator to come over and make sure the mices and mousies stay away. Some dude came over and left some bait traps all over inside the house, left a couple of spiffy traps outside and then sprayed some stuff outside. Mom says I should not be insulted but the ex-term-inators can get to the mices and mousies in places neither of us can reach.
I'm good with that. Now it's time for me to take a nap on this nice comfy quilt.

Checking In
Hello kits and cats!
It's Spring in not-quite-sunny New Hampster. Mom has been to the big box hardware stores and bought dirt and herbies, which she will be planting when it isn't raining outside. Me? I keep finding new quilts that need my Quality Assurance checks and need an even distribution of my furs.
I've been spending a lot of time on the front porch watching the birds and everything else. It isn't quite warm enough to leave the window to the porch open all the time, but Mom has moved a kitty hammock out there for me for the good days.
I hope you are enjoying your Springtime!

Millie Performs Quality Assurance
Hey kits and cats, just checking in.
I am fine! The weather is getting warmer, the snow is almost gone and Mom lets me out on the porch every day now. Sometimes I can stay out there for half an hour!
But you know it's not all fun and games, I have to do the Quality Assurance checks on all her quilts, and omicat, has she been prolific this past year. I'm pretty sure I've had to do these checks on a dozen quilts! This particular one is the second one this week! It's a good thing I'm an expert.
It's a tough job, but somecat has to do it.

Millie Doing Quality Testing
You know, the work never ends around here. If I'm not watching over my domain from one of the two kitty condos, it's catching up on my ZZZZ's or performing Quality Assurance checks on Mom's quilts.
Not only did I check this quilt for sewing mistakes, but I checked it for softness, warmth and cuddle-ability. Yes, that is a word, and it is an extremely important quality in a quilt. This quilt passed with flying colors.
Which is funny, considering...
Oh crap. Mom won't let me tell you.
Yet.
Heh.

Millie Finds a Boo Boo
Yup, I did. Mom was sewing this quilt together and didn't notice she made a mistake. But I saw it and went to sit right next to it so she would see. It took a while. I had to be very persistent, but she finally saw the mistake and fixed it.
I'm telling you, my job as quilt QA inspector never ends.
I know I haven't been blogging much lately, but I am fine. I have been napping behind the couch and Mom hasn't been able to get many pictures. As the weather warms up and I spend more time on the front porch, that will change, but the weather has been wet and cool lately so I have been staying inside.

Thursday Testing
I've been very busy the last couple of days performing Quality Assurance Tests on Mom's quilts. This one passes with flying colors. Which is a good thing, because it has lots of BRIGHT colors and it will soon be FLYING across the US of A to give comfort to a young woman who has been fighting Cancer.
Cancer sucks. I wanna beat cancer. For everybuddy.

Sunny Saturday
Mom just got this quilt back from being quilted. It looked great before, and it's even better now. I am performing my usual QA check.
It's sunny and lovely out today, but since it's only 53F, Mom won't open the door to the front porch. She says those days are mostly over.
So I will keep napping on the quilt.
Or not.

Easy Like Sunday
Dear Mom,
There is no fabric you can wash, that I cannot find to make into a nest and fur up. Look at it this way, I get to do a preliminary QA check on whatever it is you're making.

QA Sunday
Mom finished a big quilt she'll use as a tablecloth on Turkey Day. Naturally I had to inspect every aspect of it.

Tuxie Tuesday
Mom's Chicken quilt came back from being quilted in Tennessee yesterday. I got right to work with my Quality Assurance checks. So far it passes for comfort, kindness and love. It needs more fur, though, so I'm not ready to sign off on it just yet.

Easy Like Sunday
I spent a lot of time yesterday helping Mom.
I'm telling you, this QA thing is very demanding. I have to check out every inch of the quilts Mom makes. This one is called Mashed Potatoes.
Dunno why, I can't smell any mashed potatoes anywhere.
Lookit this gorgeous picture Mr Karate sent of him & Rubylocks before they went out for a real live dead fish dinner.

Saturday Quality Testing
Before the Holidays, I tend to be extra-busy checking Mom's quilts for Love, Kindness, Softness, Comfort and Warmth. (I also have to make sure they get an adequate coating of my furs.) A Quality Assurance Cat's job is a tough one, but somecat has to do it.

QA testing
Every time Mom finishes a quilt it is my job to perform the Quality Assurance test. I check all quilts for warmth and comfort, kindness and love. Then, like all QA testers everywhere, I leave my mark.
I leave my furs.
It's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it.
Hey Mom, I'm not done here. Take that flashy box and go someplace else...

I am a Studio Cat
I guard Mom's studio. I make sure all fabric is covered with my furs. I keep an eye on her tools. I make sure everything is in order. I inspect her work. I am the head of Quality Assurance. When any quilt leaves this room complete, it does so with my paw of approval.
It is a tough job, but I am a Cat. I can do it, and I do it well.

Stay-Cation, Day 7
It was Hot, hot, hot and sticky yesterday. Mom has been working in the sewing room while watching the Tennis. I think she's getting cabin fever because she's planning to make a trip to her very favorite quilt shop later.
This little pincushion arrived from Whiskeronsin. One of Mom's friends made it, and naturally, I had to inspect it.

Silly Saturday
Happy Halloween! Here's the Japanese Maple outside today!
I'm helping Mom make the quilt for NewBean.
Mom doesn't seem to appreciate my input.
Dunno why.

Millie Monday
As you can see, from this picture taken of the Japanese Maple this morning, we do not have snow. It did not snow here yesterday. And the leaves haven't fallen off the trees.
It did snow during the game my pals, the guys named Pat played against the Titans yesterday. The guys named Pat love to play in the snow at Razor Field. I do not think the Titans had any fun. Next week, the guys named Pat are playing in London, at Wembley Stadium. Apparently the tickets sold out in six minutes.
I'm doing my usual, napping whenever I find a good spot, and doing the QA checks on the stuff Mom makes. Mom made a Gizzy quilt that will be flying across the ocean to the UK, bought some fabric at her favorite quilt shop and spent a lot of time cuddling with me.

Fluffy Friday
Lookit these gi-normous snowflakes that fell yesterday morning while Mom was getting ready to go day hunting. Mom said there were many magical sliding cars while this was happening. Fortunately hers wasn't one of them.Mom has been sewing the binding on her Alphabet Sampler Quilt a little bit each night. Here I am snoopervising her work and giving the quilt a QA inspection.
I understand a stork will be visiting Monty Q's house later this year. I guess it wouldn't be a surprise to anybody if I said Mom is gonna make a quilt for this tiny bean. She already has big plans. So what else is new?
