I Work At Home

Mom just added the binding on this big quilt. She put in on this red chair and went to do something else, but I knew this quilt needed some of my furs.

What better way to do that than to take a bath?

In other news, Mom decided to get me some help in keeping mice outside our house. She hired an ex-term-inator to come over and make sure the mices and mousies stay away. Some dude came over and left some bait traps all over inside the house, left a couple of spiffy traps outside and then sprayed some stuff outside. Mom says I should not be insulted but the ex-term-inators can get to the mices and mousies in places neither of us can reach.

I'm good with that.  Now it's time for me to take a nap on this nice comfy quilt.

Millie Monday

Wowza. Mom worked like crazy yesterday. She washed the floor in the kitchen, and dragged the rug sucking monster around. She made a nice dinner for both of us (chick-hen) and baked her favorite chocolate cake. (I'll tell you a secret - she puts coffee in her chocolate cake. And yesterday she grated the skin of an orange into it too, and she added some sinna-minna-min. I am not sure if that still makes it a "chocolate" cake, but hey, what do I know?)

Then she mowed the lawn and watered her garden. She said an evil intruder kitty has been digging in some pots on the porch, so she moved some stuff around so the evil intruder can't jump up there any more.  Mom did all the dishes and washed all the laundry, AND she folded it all and put it away. Which kinda sucks, because last week I napped in the basket full of clean sheets all week long.  She washed all the pots and the pans, watched the tennis and finished sewing the binding on her Black Crayons quilt.

I'm glad she's going back to her day-hunting gig today, because I'm exhausted just watching her.

Wacky Wednesday

I'm telling ya, you'd think she was going away for a month the stuff she's trying to jam into her suitcase. Now she's got another one she's stuffing full of junk. (Excuse me, presents.)

She has a long list of destructions for Mr Karate and Auntie Karate for when she is gone. When and how much to feed Millie (huh? I'm going with her, what's that all about?), when to water her so-called garden out back, and my Nip plants on the porch, and when to pick her metal machine once it has been inspected.

She left the eye-tin-error-a-ray of her train trip and the numbers for the Sprout House.

She made a special trip to the grocery store to buy foods for Mr Karate (peanut butter and jelly and bread for sandwiches and lots of ice cream and milk). She got ginormous peaches. They smell interesting. (Mr Karate wants Mom to leave a note that there are peaches for him in the coldbox. Heck, I can tell they're in there when the door is open, why can't he?)

She wants to burn a CD with pictures. I'm trying to imagine that. Hmm.

Who would have thought that getting ready for a vacation involved so much WORK?

(shudder)
