Hey, I've been hanging out on the porch for the last couple of days. Right now I just need a quiet place, and I found it behind one of Mom's quilts.

OK, coupla things.

First. There is nothing in this house that is not mine. I will nap wherever I want.

Second. I am a fan of my pals, the guys named Pat. No matter what you say about them, I am a loyal fan.

Third. I am going to watch the Super Bowl. I really hope we win. The waiting is kinda nerve-wracking.

Fourth. If we win, I will brag. But I will not gloat, and I will not diminish the guys who lose.
Likewise, if we lose, I will be sad, but I'll be quiet.

It was sunny and warm yesterday so I spent a lot of time on the front porch, but today it is cooler and cloudy, so I am in my tent.

Yup, it doesn't get any easier (or sweeter) than this. Napping at the very top of my kitty condo, in the sun.

When Mom eats at the dining room table, 

I always try to get some scritches,

Mom is always generous.

Yup, this is what I am doing today. Napping in my tent.

And it's what I was doing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Mom was sewing, and I was napping in the tent.

So now you're all caught up with what I was doing last week.

We had a freeze last night. I spend a lot of the night on Mom's bed. What part of the night I didn't spend on Mom's bed, I spend UNDER one of her quilts.

I'm not saying which one.

I love the front porch, and I watch EVERYTHING when I am out there.

It rained last night, and will be cooler and rainy today. Mom opened the front porch for me, and I have been sitting on the porch checking everything out.

Mom spent a lot of yesterday in the garden, planting more stuff. She says the shade garden is all planted. She put some of her "extra" plants in pots to decorate the entrance to the yard. Watching her sweat makes me glad I'm a cat.

You do not see this very often. Me, napping on Mom's bed. (You don't see Mom's bed unmade either, but that's another story.)

Mom got up yesterday, got dressed, cooked herself breakfast (don't worry about me, I -ALWAYS- get my foods first thing in the morning before Mom does anything else), and then went food hunting.

When she got back, she planted two big pots of plants that attract hummingbirds. (There is one fuchsia plant, two dragonwing begonias, two coleus plants and one ipo-something.) One is in the middle of the front garden, the other is near the side house, so I will be able to watch hummingbirds eat from the flowers.
 
After that, Mom went to the hardware store and bought bricks.  I kid you not.

Then she went BACK to the hardware store to buy a gas grill. Then she went to the food store again to buy some real life dead BEEF steak too cook on said grill. Did I get any?

I did not.

These are some of the reasons I did not post yesterday.


Fair warning: Today the tennis starts in Paris, at Roland Garros. It's going to be all tennis all the time here for the next couple of weeks.

Sigh.

I am having a lovely nap. Mom has ordered some Nip seeds as well as some Cat Grass for me.

The weather warmed up, so Mom opened up the door to the sewing studio. Now it is very cozy and I have taken over the kitty condo in there.

As you can see we had a little bit of snow. The weather is supposed to be cold again this week, but typical of the weather we usually have in January.

Mom has been a bit tired lately, so we haven't blogged every day like we like to, but I don't want her to get sick, so I am happy she has been resting a bit.  The tennis has started again. Next week our attention will be in Melbourne and we will be watching the Australian Open. Of course, we shall also be following our pals, the guys named Pat, who won a crazy game against the Ravens last night.

Dear Mom,

There is no fabric you can wash, that I cannot find to make into a nest and fur up.  Look at it this way, I get to do a preliminary QA check on whatever it is you're making.

Mom says this is a Very Big Deal. Why? Because she has never seen me nap with my back to the room. Usually I nap where I can simply open my eyes to see anybody coming.

Mom got Jackson Galaxy's new book "Catification" and he says that a cat is really comfortable with her territory when she does what I am doing.  Mom has been reading the book very closely and wants to set up a "cat superhighway" here.

I can't wait.
