Mom thinks putting my Gizzy Quilt and sprinkling some 'Nip on it, that I will be encouraged to go into this thing.
Yeah, right.
*Mom DOES say there will be NO woofie, EVER.
As if that's supposed to console me somehow!

Freaky Friday
Lookit what Mom brought home last night.
That's a crate for a WOOFIE!!!!
You can see right through it. It has TWO doors.
Mom must think she can trick me into getting into this thing to get the treats she put for me in the corners.
All I have to do is reach in there with my paw, grab the treat and pull it out.
Heh.

Seven Years Ago Today
Seven years ago today, I was a feral kitty, and I got hit by a car. As you can see my leg was broken and my hip was dislocated. It hurt bad, and I couldn't move. I was terrified, stuck in the middle of the street with cars zooming past.
Bast must have been watching out for me, because somebody [Malcolm] picked me up and saved my life.
The rest is history. My leg got fixed and cat lovers around the world helped by sending green papers to pay for my bionic leg.
Life is funny, and like Mom says, the world changes every day. That was a very bad day, and it became a very good day.
I did not like being held. Some things never change.

The Big W
As you know Mom and I are big tennis fans. Right now the biggest tennis tournament of them all, Wimbledon, is taking place now. Mom was shocked when Nadal lost in the first round, but Steve Darcis played magnificently. We have a soft spot in our hearts for Roger Federer, who has won the big W seven times, but this year Mom wants Andy Murray to win.
We were very sad to see the Bruins lose last night. Since we are part of Red Sox Nation, the "Broons" are our guys on ice.
It's been wicked hot. (We say "wicked" a lot here in New England.)
I've been hiding in all the cool spots, which is why there isn't a picture of me here today. Instead, here's a picture of how green it is here in the summer in lovely New Hampster.

Garden Day
It's hot here in New Hampster. I have found a cool place to nap.
Mom is happy she got the house all nice and clean before the hots got here. She wants to show off her garden. She's pretty cool, so I will let her.
Here is a picture of what it looked like at the beginning of June.
and here is what it looks like now.
Mom has been picking lettuce and spinach and a-roo-gala, and clipping herbs like basil, chives, rosemary, thyme, parsley, sage, oregano and marjoram to add to the things she cooks for dinner.

Easy Like Sunday
Mom is tuckered out from teaching yesterday. She is taking it easy. So am I, but I am watching the neighbs next door. It's warm out, so Mom has the window wide open, and I can see (and smell) everything that's going on over there.
Heh.

Mom is happy because today is the longest day of the year and it is sunny. I am happy because this is my 'Nip! Lookit all those wonderful 'Nip plants! I am SO excited. Now that the rains have gone away, we can have the SUN which will grow my 'Nip to magnificence!
I am so excited!

Thursday Thought
Yup, that's Mr Karate looking silly. He is holding Yoda, a young kit who has found his forever home. I can tell Yoda thinks Mr Karate is more than just a little bit silly.
And from this photo I have to agree with the little guy.

Tuxie Tuesday
Mom could learn a lot from me if she paid attention. She took this picture of me washing up after I had my dinner. It's a lesson she should learn. When she is sewing like a maniac, she makes dinner and then just puts the dishes on the counter and leaves them there. Tsk, tsk. Things are so much harder to clean if they are left to sit for a few days.
Case in point. Mom got home from day hunting last night, fed me my dinner (as usual) then sat down to read her tippy tappy lapbox. When her tummy started growling, she put the lapbox aside and went into the kitchen. I heard a big sigh, and then she came back into the living room rubbing her face. She walked around for a few minutes then went back into the kitchen.
I heard pots banging and the water running. She was washing the dishes. This went on for about half an hour. Maybe less, I don't know, I'm a cat!
The next thing I heard was Mom rummaging around in the cold box, taking stuff out and putting stuff on the kitchen counter. Naturally I had to investigate. She was cutting up some yukky green stuff and doing other stupid cooking stuff. She went outside to cut some stupid green herby stuff from her garden and put it on her foods. Then she sat down to eat.
Guess what she did when she was all done? She washed all her dinner dishes and the pots she used to cook with. But that's not the kicker. When she was finished, and the kitchen was nice and clean, the counters were empty of stuff (so much easier for me to get up there now), she comes into the living room and says to me, "Millie, it's so much better to take care of the dirty stuff right away."
Really? I mean, Mom, really?
Have I told you lately how glad I am to be a cat?

Millie Monday
Lookit! Mr Karate sent Mom these flowers for Father's Day. He sent along a note saying that since she did the work of two parents he could celebrate her on two days. Pretty cool, huh?
Of course I have always known Mom is seriously awesome.
After all, she picked me!

It doesn't get any spiffier than this. Lying next to Mom while we both enjoy the tennis and the blogs.

Happy Birthday Pip-pay!
Today is Pip-pay's Birthday. I know for a fact he is older than dirt a geezer bean. I like him a lot. He takes care of me when Mom goes on walkabout. He feeds me, keeps me company and plays with me. Mom loves him too.

I Can't Believe...
Mom was in her sewing studio last night while I was having my after dinner nap.
Normally she doesn't do anything exciting, but somehow I missed this.
Drat! I could have had such fun.

Rain, Rain, GO AWAY
I mean it! Holy Bast! We have had so much rain Mom has had to tip over her garden pots to get the extra water out.
And it's cold. Where are the hots? Where is the Sun?

Millie Monday
It was a good weekend. I think it's gonna be a good week. Mom got a small quilt top finished. Now she has to clean the sewing room. I have great view from here. It's good for napping too!
Be sure to check out Google's page today. There is an awesome Google Doodle celebrating a very special person!

Finally Friday
Lookit this disgusting green stuff. Parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, marjoram, oregano, tarragon, chives, basil, tomatoes, roo-gala, lettuce, merry-golds and nasty-tur-tums (or whatever they are) are all growing in Mom's container garden out back.
This is the big pot of flowers hanging on the porch. My 'Nip plant is on the porch, where rude cats cannot steal it. The plants are very tiny now, just poking through the dirt, but they are there.
It's going to be a good weekend. I'll be napping, Mom will be sewing. What will you be doing?

A Space-y Problem
The spacebar on Mom's tippy tappy lapbox stopped working. Mom did some investigating and this exceedingly tiny collection of my furs was found inside the keyboard.
Mom also admits to using a very high pressure air hose to blow the dust out of the keyboard (after she removed it from the lapbox.) Mom says the spacebar works now, and she doesn't have to spend one hundred green papers to get a replacement keyboard.
I do not know how she thinks this could possibly be -my- fault.

Easy Like a Hot Sunday Morning
Sometimes Mom doesn't know where I am. I am in this picture. Can you find me?
Yup, I am on one of the chairs.
Since the chairs are pushed against the table, it is not always easy for Mom to see where I am.
I will be staying cool today. I hope you are having a good day too.

What Do You Do When It's Ninety-Two?
Find a cool spot (see the fan in the corner?)
Take a nap.
If you're Mom, you make a nice healthy lunch (The recipe is here) and sit back on the couch and watch tennis on TV.
