Well, Mom is in love with her new Kindle. It's in COLOR, so now she's all excited. She can surf the innernets and check her email on it too. Good thing she can't take pictures with it. Oh wait, she got a new camera before we went on vacation. Mom is such a gadget queen. (She thought about getting one of those spiffy new iPads but decided against it.)
Yeah, things are back to normal around here. Mom's got six hundred eighty-four things going on (like usual). She's got quilts to finish, and books half read. (She finished the first Harry Potter book and started right in on the second.) What does she do? She buys more fabric (she wants to make dresses for SweetBean) and more books.
But go figure. She went to the bookstore (a real one) and brought home a
book called "Throw Out Fifty Things."
Yup, things are back to normal around here.

Thursday Three
1. Mom went back to her day hunting gig yesterday. I have been hogging her lap all evening. Heh.
2. She brought herself a new gizmo. She got a Kindle Fire. She really likes it.
3. The Harry Potter books are now available as ebooks. Mom bought them all for her new Kindle. She's already 80% through the first book. (Hey, that's what napping on her does - she reads because she can't do anything else!)

Vacation Photo Album
Here are a few pictures from my vacation with Mom to Mary-land and Washington DeeCee.
In this first photo, I am resting near the pool at the World War II Memorial. It was a hot day, and lots of beans (including Mom) were cooling their feet in the water and splashing around. I chose not to do that.
Here I am at a very fancy restaurant called the King's Contrivance. Very fancy. I took a nap while Mom ate fish stuffed with crabs. I do not like fish.Or crabs.
This is at the Jefferson Memorial. I liked this place a lot. Birds could fly in and out, it was open all around, and it was very light and airy.
Sometimes you have to be careful what you ask for. I asked if I could have my picture taken with this actor from the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company and he was happy to oblige, but he hammed it up a bit.
Here I am at the Washington Monument with some Cherry Trees. They were very pretty but the park rangers didn't want anycats climbing the trees. Darn it.
Here I am at the American History Museum. It is part of the Smithsonian. The Smithsonian is very big.
This is a picture of the Jefferson Memorial. You can see a lot of the cherry trees near it. Mom and I liked this view the best.
This is my new friend Lex. He lives with R, Mom's friend in DeeCee. Lex is a good looking Man-Cat, but my heart belongs to Monty.
Sight-seeing is very strenuous exercise. It is best to eat a good breakfast, especially if it includes ham.

No Place Like Home
Mom and I are home. We have had a wonderful time, but there's no place like your own bed, or your own comfiest place to nap.
I'll post more pictures later, right now I have some serious napping to do.

One Last Day
Oh bast! You should have seen the places we went yesterday! We had breakfast at the Paper Moon Cafe. What a wild place that was!
I'm using Mom's iPhone to post and it puts the pictures where it wants but look it these. (below) The colorful people greeted us as we drove up.
The green lady with the small plastic army guys for hair was waiting for us when we came through the door.
And I posed for Mom I'm front of the most amazing, um, ah, collection of weird stuff.
The food was good and then we were off to another weird place, the American Visionary Art Museum.
It was full of weird stuff too. But I'll have to tell you about that tomorrow.
We are leaving a day early, so we won't be going to the Hirshhorn Museum. Instead Mom and I are going home. She is eager for her own cooking, her own bed and less of the big city hustle and bustle.
Me, I'm eager to get out of this silly outfit.

Baltimore
Mom really lucked out. Friday was a "peak" day for the cherry blossoms. Today it is supposed to rain and knock them all down.
We are going to spend today in Baltimore visiting the Museum of Visionary Arts.
Mom says tomorrow we will be visiting a museum shaped like a donut.
Whatever. I'm kinda getting homesick though.
Here is a picture of the big fountain at the WWII Memorial, which was very grand compared to the Vietnam Memorial, which was quite intense.

Back in DC today
Mom and I are back in DC today. We will be visiting the Vietnam Memorial and the WWII Memorial. Then it's off to the Smithsonian.
Here I am on the subway, which is a lot like a train but noisier and with lots more people. I was lucky to find a seat

Not Wordless Wednesday
Mom and I are having a great time in Mary-land.
Here are some of the famous Cherry Trees in blossom near the Washington Monument.
Lookit the caption on the middle banner. It says "www.moneyfactory.gov." WOW! I wanted to go in there and get some green papers for Mom, but she said that's not how it works.
This is the little Caboose. He is very cute, and sweet. He loves me, you can tell.
This is Mooshie. He loves me too. As you can tell. He likes to squeeze me.
This is my sweetie Monty Q. Isn't he the most handsome ManCat ever?
Well, that's it for today. More pictures of my adventures later, but I gotta go. I got lots of fun stuff to do.
PS, Happy Anniversary Mim-may and Pip-pay!

Tuxie Tuesday
Wow. No wonder Monty doesn't post very often. Four little sticky people running around all day long is enough to make a cat sleep ALL DAY.
They (Kidbean, Sweetbean, Mooshie and the Caboose) all LOVE Mom. They hug her and kiss her and sit on her and want to play with her all the time.
Mom reads books, pushes the swing and plays in the sandbox. She laughs when the remote control car she gave Kidbean hits her foot. She pushes the grocery cart and makes the little sticky people treats.
Even the big woofie, Tucker, loves her.
I'm exhausted just watching.
Monty and I... Well, that's private.

World Cancer Day
Cancer sucks. It took my big bro, Gizzy and it took Jasmine too. Let's work to make cancer go away for good!

To Montys House!
Oh Bast! Last night we went to a play and I got a picture with one of the actors in the play! He thought I was awesome. (I will post a picture later)
Today we are going to Monty's house. I am furry excited. Here I am in Mom's bag, ready to go.
Mom can only post photos to the blog from her iPhone, but she took lots with her camera and I promise to post them later.

The Monuments
Wow! Now I get it! Here I am at the memorial to President Lincoln. This place is awesome! I am having a lot of fun here and I am learning a lot of history.
A Concert
Lookit where we went last night. To the Kennedy Center to see the Chieftains! It was awesome! There was Irish music and singing and dancing!
Today we are going to Washington DC and we are going to see the Monuments. (I dunno what they are but I will take pictures so you can see.
Mom says we are also going to see some famous Cherry trees.
Well gotta go!

On the train
Mom and I are on the train to Mary-land. Right now we are in Connect-i-cat. It is rainy out. I am being very good.
Ready To Go
We are all packed and ready to go. Mom's suitcase is stuffed with stuff. She's got her clothes, of course, and the evil little chocolates, Violette's quilt, and practically every electronic gizmo known to beans. I ride in the blue knapsack along with Mom's lunch, her Kindle and the green papers.
I know what you're thinking - "Millie, you're wearing a COLLAR!" But it says "Favorite Aunt" and hey, that's me!
We're on the road to Mary-land... HEH!

Counting down
Mom's got an app on her phone that counts down the hours till we leave for Mary-land.
The suitcase is full of stuff and all she has to do is make her lunch for the trip.
I'm enjoying the peace and quiet before all the craziness begins.
And scritches. One can never get enough scritches.

Almost Wordless
Guess who got a new digital camera?
Guess who was called upon to be the subject of the learning pictures?
I was -not- ready for my closeup.

Tattle Tail Tuesday
It snowed on March 1st. Less than 10 days later, it melted. Spring is coming, and so is our trip to Mary-land!
Whee!

Millie Monday
It is simply a cat's prerogative to not eat what your bean puts in your bowl and ask for something else.
This morning, I got my usual bowl of stinky goodness - today it was Beef, usually my most favoritest flavor, but Mom just bought a new bag of crunchies, so when she put some in another bowl, well, I just couldn't help myself.
Change is good.
Changing your mind when your Mom doesn't expect it... Priceless.

Easy Like Sunday Morning
It's easy for ME! Mom's been scurrying around like an overworked gerbil on a treadmill. She's been food hunting; stocking up on almost a month's worth of stinky goodness for me. She's been stuffing that suitcase so full she actually went out and bought a backpack! Yesterday she cleaned the house, dragged the rug-sucking monster around, changed the bed sheets and did the whole washing machine shuffle. The kitchen is clean (she just made herself a big breakfast of ham, eggs, fresh strawberries, pineapple and pancakes). She's organized all the travel plans (home to bus station, bus station to train, etc...) and has been punching numbers into that mini computer that is disguised as a cell phone like a madwoman.
Oh well, in a few sleepsshe we will be on our way south to Mary-land. We'll be spending a couple of days in DeeCee before heading down to Monty's. I am as excited as she is, but at least I have the good sense to take it easy first.
ta ta!
Oh well, in a few sleeps

In The Bag
Ok Monty Q, honey! I'm in the bag, and I've got some goodies with me. Mom says we're not going anywhere just yet, but soon. Mom says a few more sleeps, but I can't wait! Smoochies!

Truthful Tuesday
Mom says it's always best to be truthful.
I didn't do anything fancy yesterday. I just napped under my quilt tent on the big wing chair.
The movie Hugo was awesome. Mom and I highly recommend it.

Millie Monday
Mom and I watched the movie Hugo yesterday. Mom was sacked out on the couch, covered with my favorite-quilt-of-the-moment. As you can see, I was quite comfortable.

The Idjit
Mom was pretty upset yesterday with the idjit upstairs. He decided that two inches of slush needed to be snowblowed out of the driveway at ten minutes to seven on Saturday morning, when the temperature was supposed to get up into the forties later.
Let me tell you about two inches of slush. No snowblower can throw it anywhere. It's heavy as wet beach sand. Trying to snow blow it means the snowblower works really hard and makes a terrible noisy sound. This particular snowblower is pretty wimpy, and doesn't throw real snow more than a foot away. Mom thinks it's pretty useless. She says shoveling it to one side would have been faster and left the driveway cleaner. Not only that, the idjit didn't even do the whole driveway. And he didn't do any part of the parking lot out back.
Sure enough, after the bozo woke Mom up from a deep sleep (on a day she could sleep late), the weather got warmer and the slush melted on its own. In fact, it was gone by lunchtime. (It had melted away in the parking lot too!)
What was funnier (!!!) was the upstairs idjit never went anywhere until AFTER the slush melted.

Formerly Feral Friday
Here I am in my most favorite napping spot of all -- on a quilt that covers Mom. You don't get this unless you are formerly feral.
We got 10" (25.4cm) of snow yesterday. It's pretty, but it will melt soon, and too fast for there to be a When When Contest.
With Mom's back as bad as it is, she hasn't been getting much done lately, and that includes helping me blog over the weekends. Please accept my apologies for this. I do visit everybuddy, so my thoughts are with you all!
smoochies!

Snowy Day
We have known for a few days that we would have "measurable" snow this week. It started last night, and should snow all day. This is what it looks like this morning. It's pretty to look at.
