Pinkie & Blue Boy

No, I am not talking about cats. I am talking about two famous paintings.

This is Pinkie.

This is Blue Boy.  You can read their "official" stories here.  You know Mom. She's an Art nut, and she always loves to look at pictures. She was very happy to have an opportunity to see these two at the Huntington Library.

Mr Karate had to ham it up. At least he got the shirt color right.

Mom traipsed around the gardens at the Huntington with Mr Karate & Rubylocks.

They saw lots of cool things,

including a man who made trees out of concrete.

Cats were not allowed. (It was too hot anyway.) Yoda and I stayed home, napped and hung out.

Flying Millie Monday

Yup, cats & kits, I am in the City of Angels.

I am a very good traveler, but I was not the only four footed furry passenger, however.

Mom says this little guy was considered a "personal item." Mom makes cuter totebags.

It was fun to look down on the clouds below.

Mom liked watching the map to see where we were. We knew the air was cold way up at 37,973 feet, but holy Bast! Minus 62° F (-52C) !!! Eek!

Lookit THIS. The City of Angels is GIGANTIC!

Yoda and I, getting to know each other. He was very eager to hear all I know about training humans. I emphasized the need for using small words and speaking slowly.

Vacation Update

Mom went to the beach again.

I think Mom is a big pretender.

This is a cupcake, not an ice cream cone, and this is doesn't look like sunset to me.

Wait a minute. there aren't any palm trees in New Hampster...

Snoozy Saturday

Um, haven't you got tennis to watch, Mom?

Family Friday

This is my fur-cousin Yoda. He lives in Catifornia with Mr Karate and Rubylocks.  He looks like a regular snuggle bunny.

A completely shameless snuggle bunny by the look of it.

Truthful Thursday

Do you see what I see?
There are no pellets in my Breeze box.

Mom keeps packages of pellets here, and there spot is empty.

You would think that Mom would have noticed there were NO PELLETS when she cleaned the box and threw the OLD pellets away, but NOPE.  She had to go out to the pet store and buy some.

I mean, seriously?

Vacation Update

Vacation Day Two was Auntie Karate's birthday. Mom also went shopping for a suitcase. Not a bigger one, but a smaller one. (Go figure.)

Mom says it is a lot lighter and easier to lug around and it will save her green papers because she won't have to check it.  Checkit? I don't see any checks, it's RED! What ever.

On Vacation Day Two, Mom cooked the books, and paid the Mr Bills. She cleaned the human litter box room and the kitchen, and even washed the floors, then she watched the tennis in New York.

Me?

I did this:

At least ONE of us knows the meaning of vacation.

First Day of Vacation

Mom is on vacation. You all know how much she loves to watch the Tennis in New York, and takes vacation time so she can stay home and watch the tennis on TV.  The tennis starts today, but the vacation started on Saturday. So what did Mom do on her first day of vacation (aside from buying new sneakers?)

She went to Oo-ick's for a lobstah roll.

Mom laughs when the fancy cooking shows try to "gussy up" a lobster roll. Mom says a lobster roll should have these, and only these ingredients: lobster, mayo (not much!), salt and pepper and some chopped celery. This should be served on a roll that has been lightly grilled with butter.  The lobster roll is pretty terrific by itself if the lobster is very fresh and perfectly cooked, but even better if you are sitting at a table overlooking the water on a sparkling blue day.

Mom says steamed clams, fried onion rings, french fries and fresh coleslaw don't hurt either.

Mom says you can't be that close to the ocean and not dunk your toesies in it, so that's what she did next.

The ocean water is COLD! Mom says in the summer it is about 58F (14.4C), and she calls it "invigorating." (What-ever. It's WATER, and water is WET, so I am NOT interested. Come to think of it, I don't like fish either.)

A nice drive along the coast is always in order. Mom says the smell of the ocean is just wonderful. The drive should end with ice cream, and this one did too.

Mom stopped at The Beach Plum and had a hard time choosing from the 78 flavors of ice cream. Finally she selected Coffee Almond Caramel. Then she sat on the seawall as the sun set behind her, watching the waves crash gently on the beach.

Mom says very soon she will be doing the same thing, eating ice cream on a beach at sunset, but the sunset will be in front of her.  I do not understand how that can happen. I know she can make magic but I am not quite sure she has a magic wand big enough to make the sun change course.

Then again, she's Mom, and there's no telling what will happen.

Happy Birthday Auntie Karate

Happy Birthday Auntie Karate.

(Auntie Karate is not as old as Mom, so I can't say she's older than dirt. But I think she's getting close.)

Anyway...

Happy Birthday to You!
Happy Birthday to You!
Happy Birthday dear Auntie Karate!
Happy Birthday to You!

Sneaky Saturday

Mom went out this morning and came back with these.
why she finds this so exciting is beyond me. But then I saw this:

Hmm....

Finally Friday

When a quilt comes back from the long arm quilter, it is my job as Quality Assurance Inspector to make sure the quilt is full of love, kindness, warmth, generosity and gentleness.

A little cat fur never hurts either.

Truthful Thursday

I don't know why Mom is giving me the evil eye. I'm not doing anything bad. I'm just napping.

Tuxie Tuesday

Here I am on my current favorite napping spot.

Mom sighs when she sees me here. I think it's because she'd rather I nap elsewhere. If she wants me to nap someplace else, then she needs to put this fabric away.

Which might happen. Some day.

Until then, I nap here, and she sighs.

Life is good.

Millie Monday

Crap. Mom's going day hunting today. I like it when she stays home so I can get scritches any time I want.

Easy Like Sunday

Mom got home from teaching her class yesterday, took her shoes off and dumped her big bags of quilts on the bed. Then she went to lie down on the couch. I found a place to nap, and I don't know why she thought it was worth taking a picture, but there you go.

Today both Mom and I are resting and enjoying the day. She's making a quilt, and she will bake some cookies later. I am looking forward to roast beast when she has her lunch, and then chick-hen for dinner.

It's gonna be a great day. Have I told you lately how glad I am to be a cat?

Friday, August 16, 2013

Finally Friday

Mom has been busy getting ready for a class she is teaching on Saturday so she hasn't been helping me blog.  It's OK, really. The weather has been perfect. I have been spending a lot of time in the cat hammock watching the world go by outside.

Wordy Wednesday!

Lookit! My friend Miles is visiting (or as he says, "bisiting.")

Miles Meezer is one of my oldest and dearest furriends. He has been traveling all over by riding with the man in the bloo shorts's truck.  Here we are talking about old times, like the Road Trip for Romance way way back in the fall of 2007!

Miles is enjoying seeing all the quilts around here, and he is helping me fur them all up.

Tuxie Tuesday

Am I up to something devious?

Why do you ask?

Heh!
