Not Quite When Wednesday

Kikky Kats, Smudge and Sweet Purrfections, I am sorry to say you are not the winners of the When When Contest. As you can see, the snow is still there. The snow is melting everywhere.

Mom has been cleaning up the gardens and uncovered these crocuses.  There are green shoots everywhere and Mom is happy.

I like the warm weather too. I can tell you right now I am going to like the screened-in porch a lot.  Fresh air, 24/7 bird, sqwirl and bug TV, my own 'Nip plants... yup, life is pretty good.

Tuxie Tuesday

Mom and I have decided that this pile of snow will determine the 2015 When When Winner.

But since it's still here, that means Sasha and Kirby, you have not won this year's When When Contest. It is raining this morning, but will get sunny and warm later, so a lot of melting is going on. When will the snow melt? I do not know. It is really going gangbusters.  Lookit the snow piles around the house...
This is along the sewing studio. Eek!

This is the view facing West, from my kitty condo.  Wow!  Two days ago this was covered in snow.

The big pile under the kitchen window is go-go-going too. (the vent from Mom's dryer helps too!)

Since it's Tuxie Tuesday, I felt a photo of me was required.  Have a nice day everybuddy.

Millie Monday

First things first... Happy Birthday SweetBean! You are one of my most favoritest little sticky people on the whole planet.

Now, dearest Monty Q, it breaks my heart to say this, but you can see the snow outside the window, and that means you have not won the When When Contest this year.  Camie's Kitties, you too. You made a great guess, but you have not won the When When Contest either.

That pile of snow across the street is being very stubborn.

The pile on the other side of our front yard is almost gone. But if you look down the hill, there is a big pile of snow in front of that white house.  Mom can see it from the window, and that means it has to go away before a When When winner can be named.

It is going to be interesting.

Super Sunday

It is supposed to be sunny and in the mid 60's today. That's snow melting weather for sure.  There are still big piles of snow in places (like under our kitchen window for one) but will Mom see any snow when the sun comes out later?
Wow! A lot of the snow is GONE... but not quite!

Mom and I can both see a big pile of snow in the neighbor's yard across the street.

And there is still snow in our front yard. When will the snow melt? Dunno, but here is a snow update for the snow you can't see from our front room.

This snow is on the South side of the house, outside Mom's sewing studio. As you can see, there is a lot of it.

This is the view out  back. This faces West.

This pile of snow is under Mom's bedroom window. Mom will plant a special "shade garden" here later and she is furry excited about it. This wall faces North.

This pile of snow is under the kitchen window. You can see the snow near the carport, and across the street, our neighbor's pile of snow, and you get a view of the new thing.

So what was the big thing Mom bought yesterday?

Yup, it's a new metal masheen. Mom said it took longer to buy the metal masheen than it did to buy the house we live in.

Mom has been raving all about it. She says the seats are heated so her tushie will be warm in the winter. I suppose that is nice. She says she can open the door if it is locked and the key is in her pocket! (That's a blatant lie. I know there is no such thing as magic.) She says there is a camera in the back so she can make sure the masheen does not run into anything when it backs up. (I guess it isn't as flexible as I am. I just turn around and look.) Mom says the seats are leather and it has a sunroof. (yawn) Mom also says it has that "new car smell."

I bet it doesn't smell as good as Beef.

Superior Saturday

Holy Toledo! Lookit this! The snow is melting fast!  Hannah, you will not win the When When Contest this year.

There is still snow in our front garden, and you can see  big piles in front of the white house down the street. It will go soon, but when?

It is a superior Saturday today because it is going to be sunny and a lot warmer than it has been lately.  Also, Mom is going shopping later, and she says she's looking for something big. I dunno what it is, but she says I probably won't like it. I guess that means it isn't a big pot of 'Nip.

Drat.

Finally Friday

It's raining out, but the snow is still here. I am sorry, Kippie, but you have not won the When When Contest. Thank you for entering.

Terrible Thursday

This is what it looked like when Mom got home from day hunting last night. The weather guys say we are supposed to get as much as 1 - 3 inches overnight. We'll see what it looks like in the morning, but Mom has already said a lot of the werds on the bad werds list. She put her snow shovels and windshield scrapers and brushes in the shed the day before yesterday.  She had to get them all out again!

Mother Nature sure does have a funny sense of humor.

This is what it looks like outside this morning. Thank Bast we didn't get three inches. I think Mom might have exploded or something.

Mom's not too worried though. This is the weather report for the next few days. (Notice how the temperature never gets below freezing for any of these days.) Mom says it will melt, and it will melt in April. Mom has NEVER seen any snow on the ground in this area in May. In the mountains, maybe, but not here, in Southern New Hampster.

Of course, she's never seen a purple cow either.

Not Wordless on Wednesday

Camp Stanhope, Calypso, I am sorry, but there is still snow on the ground.

Neither of you will be winners in this year's When When Contest. The rest of you shouldn't give up hope just yet, because the weather guys said it might -gasp- snow tonight or tomorrow!

Mom said, "It figures! I just took all the snow brushes and scrapers out of the car and put them in the shed last night!"

Well, that's New England weather for you.

My tummy is feeling much better today. Thank you all who left good thoughts and purrs.

Tuxie Tummy Tuesday

This is what it looks like outside chez Tyler today. There is still snow on the ground. Nobody picked today, so there is no loser, but no winner either. The weather guys say the next couple of days will be cooler than normal, but they also say it will rain, so we'll see.

My tummy was upset this morning and I hacked up a lot of my stinky goodness all over the rug. I got some scritches from my Mom to help me feel better. I'm going to pick a nice cozy spot and have a nap.

Millie Monday

This is what I did on my birthday.  Mom gave me Chick-hen stinky goodness for breakfast. I love Chick-hen.  For dinner I got BEEF! I really love BEEF. For treats I ate the treats SweetBean sent me. Yeah, I know they are SAMMON, and I don't usually like fish, but they were good.

The snow is melting fast.

It's my Birthday

Today I am Nine. It's kinda surprising because I almost didn't make it to One.

It did NOT rain as much yesterday as the weather guys said it would. In fact, it got sunny in the afternoon, and the temperature got over 60F. Mom even opened a window in the studio so I could smell the outside air. I liked that a lot.  Actually, I was escaping this:

So what was going on? Mom and her dad replaced the faucet in the bathroom. Why the big mess? Apparently the cold water shutoff did not shut off all the way, so it leaked. There was a bucket brigade until Mom figured out how to stop the dripping.

Here is the new faucet. Mom is really happy with it.

Although a lot of the snow has melted, there is still some left. We'll see what happens when the sun comes out later...
I am sorry, Messrs White & Kitty, and Maggy, but none of you has won the When When Contest. There is still snow on the ground. It is melting fast. Here are some more photos of our front yard.

The great big garden rock is almost snow free.

Turning to the right a bit you can see the ground at the base of our lamppost.  It's going fast. When will it be gone? I do not know, you will have to check back every day to see.

Happy Easter!

April Showers

It was 61F yesterday, and it never got below freezing last night. It is supposed to rain most of the day today. Remember what I said about rain? It melts the snow faster than the sun does.  The snow is really go-go-going. When will it be gone? I don't know, but I think it's coming (I mean going) soon!

Mom has a lot of errands to do today.

Me? Not so much.

The Heating Monster

The heating monster in this house lives in a closet next to the washing machine. Apparently it has been unhappy, because it stopped working in the middle of the day.  Mom got home from day hunting and the house was 61F inside. We usually keep it at 67F. Mom called the heating monster v-e-t's and they sent somebody over (at very expensive so-called "emergency" rates because it was after 5:00 PM).

The guy came in and fiddled with it, then he went outside and fiddled with the tank that holds the food for the heating monster. He fiddled some more and got it working. All good. Happy happy joy you.

Then yesterday it did it again. Mom called the heating monster v-e-t's and again agreed to pay the very expensive so-called "emergency" rates because it was after 5:00 PM. Hey, Mom goes day hunting during the day. It's kinda sorta not fair.

Anyway last night another HM V-e-t came over and he fiddled for along time and got it going. He said it needed some fine tuning. Not only did he get it working, but it isn't as noisy as it was before. As long as it makes heat, I'm happy.

Anyway, there is still snow on the ground outside, but the next guess is for Sunday April 5, and that's my birthday. I will be NINE! I think it will be a terrific birthday present if the snow is gone by then.

Remember, the rules state that THE DAY will be the day Mom looks out the window and sees NO SNOW! Although you get to see the house across the street every day, this isn't the only snow we can see outside.

Thursday Three or Four or Five

Dear Cosmo, I am sorry to tell you that because there is still snow on the ground, that you are not this year's When When Winner.

Remember, this view faces East. Here is what it looks like when we look outside the windows at the other end of the house, facing the hill and West. The hill doesn't get much sunlight because of all the trees.

Looking out the windows from the studio, there is still a lot of snow there too.
These windows face South, but there are a lot of trees in the way.

That's the kitchen window above that big pile of snow, and our side door just beyond it. The kitchen faces North, and this snow will be among the very last to melt.

Although the carport is no longer a car tunnel, there's still a lot of snow there too.

When will it all melt? I dunno. We'll have to wait and see!

April Fool!!

Did I fool you? Were you fooled by the picture from the old house?  April Fool!

This is what it looked like outside this morning. As you can see, the snow is melting at a very good rate, but it will be a few days until it all goes away.

Is It Wednesday Today?

Yesterday Mom thought it was Wednesday. She had trouble all day at her day hunting gig. Guess we've just had too much snow this winter and it's getting to her.  As you can all see, there is still snow outside, so the When When Contest is still on.
