Millie Performs Quality Assurance

Hey kits and cats, just checking in.

I am fine! The weather is getting warmer, the snow is almost gone and Mom lets me out on the porch every day now. Sometimes I can stay out there for half an hour!

But you know it's not all fun and games, I have to do the Quality Assurance checks on all her quilts, and omicat, has she been prolific this past year. I'm pretty sure I've had to do these checks on a dozen quilts! This particular one is the second one this week! It's a good thing I'm an expert.

It's a tough job, but somecat has to do it.

Beating the Cold!

Lookit me! I am beating the cold of New Hampster! I am really and truly at the famous Opera House in Sydney Australia!

OF COURSE I am with my best buddy Megan!

I told Megan that the next time I come, I'm going to bring my Mom, because she has always wanted to see the famous Sydney Opera House too.

Merry Christmas Kits and Kats!

I am perfectly fine and warm here in my winter tent! It is snowing outside so we have a white Christmas!

Morning Snow

It snowed late yesterday so when I woke up this morning everything had a pretty white coating of snow. Naturally I had to go out on the porch to see for myself.

I am fine, just not blogging so much, so don't worry about me. I'm not going anywhere.

Well, maybe back into the house. It's below freezing out here.

Millie the Nurse

Mom woke up yesterday and today with tummy trouble. It was nasty. She ended up sacked out on the couch covered up with a quilt,

and naturally I decided to nap on top of her to help her get better.

But I'm pretty sure this wasn't helping.

Even if it's 9 PM, I still want to check out what's happening outside.

Even if it is 40 degrees F.

I am feeling much better. I have been eating everything in my food dish, and I even got treats last night. I am sleeping well and I haven't been bumping into things. I'm still not quite at 100 per cent but I'm much better. I even meowed at Mom this morning, but softly. My meow-er is still a little stiff and sore.

Scritches, of course, are always welcome.

My V-e-t Visit

My Mom stuck me into the crate yesterday and brought me to the v-e-t.  I didn't even get to have breakfast first!

I stayed there all day.  It was really weird. I stayed in my crate a lot of the time, but not all of it. I got stabbed and my leg got shaved as you can see and they took some of my blood. Then they stabbed me again, and everything got real fuzzy after that.

When I woke up I felt really dizzy and wobbly and my mouth felt funny. They took three of my teeths. The v-e-t says they were bad, rotten and ginny something. The v-e-t says I will feel better tomorrow after I catch up on my sleeps.

In the meantime, I'm so wobbly, I've been napping in the big bathroom next to Mom and she brought my litter box over so I wouldn't have to go far if I needed to use it. My foods are close by, but I'm not feeling all that hot.

I need a nice quiet nap.

Company is Coming

Yup, Mr Karate, Rubylocks and Little Miss have flown across the country from the City of Angels to New Hampster to visit friends and family.

My very own private little sticky person. I'm not quite sure how I feel about this.

I Was Insulted

I was debased.

Iwas humiliated.

I was chased.

I was caught.

I was caged.

I went to the vet.

I was poked. I was prodded. I was shot (twice!) I was "raked" to find any clumps (there were none) and my teeths were examined. (They would like to take some away, I guess I have some bad ones.) I had my claws trimmed and my ears cleaned. They put goop in my ears.

I weigh 13.6 pounds and the v-e-t was amazed that my eyes are good and I can run and jump as well as I could when I was a kit.

I am perfect.

I am unsurprised.

A New Litter Box

Mom got me a new litterbox and new, softer, litter. I've had two Breeze boxes for over eight years, but lately my aim isn't so good. Mom wondered if I didn't like the way the pellets felt on my paws. We've watched enough Jackson Galaxy to know that sometimes if a cat misses the box it's a good idea to change the kitty litter, so Mom did.

Naturally I'll never tell, but I haven't used the other litter box since Mom got the new one, so Mom is counting that as a good thing.

 It's not quite as nice as spending a sunny morning on the front porch, but it'll do.

Easy Like Sunday and Millie Monday...

Hey, I've been hanging out on the porch for the last couple of days. Right now I just need a quiet place, and I found it behind one of Mom's quilts.

Mom was at Quilted Threads this past weekend, when  a lady came up to her and asked, "Excuse me, are you Millie's Mom?"

Mom has never heard that before, and it really made her smile.

It made me smile too. OK, it made me purr.

My 11th Gotcha Day!

Eleven years ago I was Gotcha'd by my Mom, and I've lived with her in New Hampster ever since.

It's also my 11th Blogoversary. I've been blogging for 11 years (although I've slacked off a lot lately.)

I wish every cat could have as good a life as I have now.

Yup, I'm a lucky girlcat.

I am watching Wimbledon and rooting for Roger Federer.

 Oh holy carp! Roger won his 8th Wimbledon title! Now he has 19 Major titles, more than anybody else! Woo Hoo!!
