Beating the Cold!

Ha ha ha!

Lookit me! I am beating the cold of New Hampster! I am really and truly at the famous Opera House in Sydney Australia!

 Yup, I am really here! Up close and personal! 

You can't get more up close and personal than THIS!

OF COURSE I am with my best buddy Megan!

I told Megan that the next time I come, I'm going to bring my Mom, because she has always wanted to see the famous Sydney Opera House too.

Our dinner guest was Megan from Sydney Australia, who came with her husband to see me yesterday. I even ate Kangaroo treats from her hand. Lucky lady. I'm not always a fan of new visitors to my house.

Megan brought Edna the Emu as a present for Little Miss. Naturally I had to inspect it first.

Megan was very excited to get her own box of Evil Little Chocolates. I don't think she wants to share, though.

Seriously, when your Number One Fan travels over ten thousand miles to visit you, it's an honor. I was very happy to meet Megan and Michael.

This is the view from where I am staying, overlooking Garigal National Park.  It, and I, am in Oz.

Here I am in a banksia tree. It's in the high 60's here during the day.

Here I am in the wattle. At night it gets down to the mid 40's. Not too cold as far as I am concerned, but those who live around here disagree with me.

Here I am in a bird's nest fern. They say it's winter here, but I don't see any snow, so I'm not buying it.

I am SO EXCITED!!! I am with one of my oldest and very bestest friends.

I am Down Under. I am in Australia, with Megan from Sydney.

Can you see how HAPPY I AM!!! Can you see how EXCITED!! Because I AM!!! I am going to be visiting here in Oz for a while. Naturally I will zip back to the City of Angels to visit Mr Karate & Rubylocks and the new kit, but I will then return to Oz for more sightseeing and visiting with Megan. After that, a big surprise.

Dear Megan in Sydney Australia,

You have certainly given me a lot to think about. For those of you not paying attention... yesterday I admitted I was a bit hard on my Mom, but it was because I didn't want her to think she had me wrapped around her little finger. Megan in Oz, one of my regular readers, left this comment...

PS. Millie - thanks for your note. I feel as if I'm famous - I've had my name included in one of your blog postings!

I understand the whole "cat as aloof goddess-like creature" facade, but to be brutally honest, I don't think it suits you. I think you're a much warmer, loving cat than that.
Another option might be to present yourself to your mom and the world as one of the cleverest cats on the planet: one who was born "in the gutter" (almost literally, I guess), but who had the determination and smarts to elevate themselves to their present very happy circumstances by choosing - from all the possible moms around - your mom. As you might say: "Wowza!"

You have scored yourself a wonderful forever home with a doting mom and every comfort that you could possibly want.

If you went with this approach, then you could acknowledge your mom by boasting to the rest of us about every new wonderful thing she did for you, which, in turn, would add to your cleverness in finding her.

Well!

I've learned a lot since I came to live here. Gizzy (my bestest pal, who with my big sis Jasmine is now waiting at the Bridge) told me if I was smart I would continue to learn new things. I am very fortunate to have friends in the blogosphere who help keep me on my toes, (so to speak.)

I've given it a lot of thought, and Megan, you're right.

I did start out in the gutter, I certainly have scored a wonderful forever home, and I do have every comfort a cat could want. My Mom is pretty awesome. She's smart, she's talented, I've got her wrapped around my paw, and she's all mine.
