Thursday 13 Things

Here are thirteen things Mom packs and brings to work every day. No, the alarm clock isn't one of them. And her pen and mechanical pencil are not in the list of 13 either, even though she brings them with her wherever she goes.
Lookit this... I photoshopped her picture and numbered her 13 things. You will figure out what most of them are. There is at least one that you have never seen before. I'll leave it to you to work out which one it is.

Someday I will tell you which it is and explain why it is so very special to Mom.

Oh, # 6 is her busy-ness card holder. (Sometimes I am really terrible at keeping secrets.)

P.S. Mom got her turtlenecks today. They weren't what I thought they were going to be. They are stupid shirts. And one of them is PINK! Now there's a big surprise!

Feh.

Thursday Thirteen

You all know Mom and Auntie Karate are sisters.

Mom is the Big Sister, and Auntie is the Little Sister. Mom is 8 years older than Auntie. They don't have too many pictures of them together. In this picture, Mom is on the left, and Auntie is on the right. It was taken about three years ago. The ladies at the fabric store call them "The Bicker Sisters," which they think is pretty funny. They love each other a lot, and they are Best Friends.

But when they were girls, they weren't too fond of each other.
Thirteen Things About Little Sisters.

1. Little sisters think they know everything.

2. Little sisters think they have all the answers.

3. Little sisters keep reminding you they are important.

4. Little sisters want all the attention

5. Little sisters are such pests.

6. Little sisters embarrass you in front of boys.

7. Little sisters tell all your secrets.

8. Little sisters think they can do everything better than you.

9. Little sisters think being younger is better.

10. Little sisters tell your boyfriend every silly thing you ever did.

11. Little sisters think you don't know anything.

12. Little sisters are so bossy.

13. Little sisters keep telling you you're old-fashioned.

I wonder what Auntie Karate would think?

Thursday 13 Things

Here are 13 Random thoughts for my Thursday Thirteen:

1. I really really really like my Temptations treats.

2. Mr Karate came over for dinner tonight. He said mashed potatoes were practically the best thing in the whole wide world. I think Mr Karate is a nice guy, but this has me wondering about his sanity...

3. Mom didn't work on her super secret project tonight. She stood in the sewing room looking around, but didn't actually do anything. Go figure.

4. Mu Shue, Lilly Lu & Iris got their Gizzy quilts yesterday. Mama Laura said Mu Shue helped her open the box, and claimed his quilt right away. Lilly Lu and Iris loved their quilts too.

5. Mom had bought some ham-micks from 40 Paws for Roxy and Lucky and Missy, but the woofies didn't appreciate them, so Mom and I got them back, and then sent them to Parker.

6. I think I would have liked to keep them, but Mom said four ham-micks is too many for one cat, but one ham-mick is not enough for four cats. I made sure to leave my special stink on each of them.

7. Mom talked to Mr Karate tonight about somebody making sure to feed me for a week in Joo-lye. I do not know what this is all about, and I am very suspicious.

8. Mom has been looking for her book with pictures of butterflies. She can't find it. So she spent some time tonight looking at pictures she found on the innernets and drawing some in her sketchbook. I do not understand this at all.

9. Mom has received the special video card for her computer, but she still hasn't put it in yet.

10. Mom wants to buy more dirt this weekend. I do not understand why beans pay green papers for dirt you can get anywhere. Mom says she buys "good" dirt. This means there is also "bad" dirt. I'm not going there.

11. Poor Monty Q. First Sprout hijacks his blog, then his MomBean posted a picture of his toes. How humiliating!

12. I do not jump much, so I don't know if I will enter Kimo & Sabi's jump and shout contest.

13. I still haven't found "it" yet.

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen MORE Things I Do Not LikeLast week my T13 was about things I don't like. I have more.

1. I don't like it when air blows at me.
2. I don't like being in a room with the door closed (last week #1), but I also don't like it when Mom is in her room with the door closed and I am on the other side.
3. I don't like it when I have to wait for dinner.
4. I don't like shouting. (Mom never shouts, but the sticky people next door do.)
5. I don't like it when Mom doesn't plant 'Nip for me!
6. I don't like it when some other bean or woofie sits on my pillows, beds, or blankies. I won't sit on them after that.
7. I don't like it when Mom doesn't give me the attention that I want.
8. I don't like getting my claws trimmed.
9. I don't like that Mom can't figure out what I want when I ask politely.
10. I don't like that I can't go outside.
11. I don't like being cornered.
12. I don't like strangers.
13. I don't like missing what's going on. I want to KNOW!

I think that's it.

Thursday Thirteen

I was just sitting with Mom, and she was petting me, but then she blew some of my fur off her hands, and I jumped away. It's one of the things I don't like. So I decided that would make a good start to a Thursday Thirteen.

13 Things I Don't Like

1. I do not like being in a room with the door closed.
2. I especially do not like being in the PTU.
3. I do not like being in any kind of container where there is not at least three escape routes.
4. That means I do not get into boxes or bags.
5. I do not like being surprised.
6. I do not like things that rustle, like Mom's puffy pink winter coat, or those shopping bags she sometimes brings stuff home in.
7. I do not like noisy people. Or noisy toys.
8. I do not like being stared at.
9. I do not like tuna.
10. Mom bought me a heated cat cup, and I don't like it. In fact, I have never gotten into it.
11. I do not like anybody touching my feet
12. I do not like being picked up, or held.
13. I do not like my tummy being snorgled.

(Except by Monty Q.)

Mom finished the backpack, and it's gorgeous. She just loves it. Here is an in-progress photo for you. I told her she couldn't hog my blog today and brag about it. (you can click the picture to biggify)
So she's gonna wait till tomorrow.

My bad!

Heh!

And now, (thanks to Pixel), my Knock Knock Joke:

Knock, knock!

Who's there?

Juliet.

Juliet who?

Juliet me in?

Thursday Thirteen Things

I haven't got 13 things that are the same to talk about today, so I just have 13 thoughts.

1. Mom made another block for the Meezer Raffle Quilt yesterday.
2. Mom went to her day hunting gig yesterday. She fixed all the problems that cropped up on the days she was sick.

3. Then she went to the dentist and got a crown, but it isn't at all what I expected. What the heck is it doing in her mouth, anyway?

4. Derby's got his Gizzy quilt, and he likes it. Pictures to follow this weekend on his blog.

5. Mom hates the snow, we got another two inches last night.

6. Rami is going to show his collection on Project Runway next week. He beat Chris.

7. The landlord fixed the drainpipe in the kitchen sink. Finally. It's been leaking every time Mom uses it. Now she hasn't got an excuse not to do the dishes. Good thing. She's running out of clean ones.

8. The washing monster spins just fine if Mom uses it on Permanent Press. Mom is not interested in having to replace it, but she figures it's gonna cost lotsa green papers one way or another.

9. Mom and Auntie are a little bit behind schedule working on the HAM Meezer Quilt. Between you and me, I don't think it's gonna be finished on Sunday. They are whispering about an extension (but don't let them know you heard it from me.)

10. You should go over and check out Auntie. She's got some very striking combinations she's putting together for the HAM Meezer Raffle Quilt.

11. I have been sleeping next to Mom at night. Every night. I don't go to bed when she does, but I join her later.

12. Sometimes she wakes up, and feels me lying up against her, and she reaches over and gives me scritches. I purr contentedly.

13. We're supposed to have 4 - 8" of snow Friday night into Saturday. I've had it with the snow, too. ENOUGH ALREADY!

A Present and T13

Mom missed me so much, she bought me a PRESENT!

She says it's a heated cat cup. Now, don't get me wrong or anything, but this doesn't look like any cup I have ever seen. She tried to lure me into it by putting my sparkly ball and Nip-filled mink mousie in it, but I'm smarter than that.
Yup. I ain't gettin' in that silly thing. I'm just fine right here, thank you very much.
Oh yeah, it's Thursday, and that means Thursday Thirteen. So here is a list of 13 things I missed while I was on the Road Trip:

1. My cat hammock
2. Getting Mom to give me scritches behind my ears
3. Watching the birds in the bushes outside
4. Mom giving me scritches under my neck
5. My very own bed that Monty gave me for the Summer Secret Paw (it's next to the new cat cup thing in one of the pictures above)
6. Getting Mom to give me Roast Beast when she makes herself a sandwich
7. My special spot in the window in the studio where I can watch the little sticky people next door run around and scream.
8. Walking on Mom while she is sleeping in bed
9. Getting scritches behind my ears
10. Checking out every single Gizzy quilt that she makes for cats all over the world
11. Napping in my cat hammock in the sun
12. Playing with my Nip Mousie
13. Getting scritches behind my ears. Did I say how much I missed those?

'Course now that I am home, I miss Monty Q. Maybe HE can come over and try out the heated cat cup thing. Dunno if he'd fit, though. Bet he could squeeze himself into it.
