TEN YEARS!

WOW! Time flies.

TEN years ago. Count 'em. TEN!

TEN years ago I was hit by a car and left for dead in the middle of a busy street in New Haven Connecticat.

TEN years ago, my leg was broken in two places and my leg was dislocated at the hip.

TEN years ago, Malcolm rescued me, and then hundreds of cat lovers around the world helped with green papers to pay the very big bill and put me back together.

Lookit those stitches.

I am still here. I can run and jump and do whatever I want, thanks in no small way to the cat lovers who helped save my life.

TEN years ago I could have gone to the Rainbow Bridge, but I am still here, enjoying the simple pleasure of being alive.

It has been TEN years, but I have not forgotten those of you who helped save my life.

THANK YOU, once again, from the bottom of my little furry heart.

My Rescue-versary

Mom often says how life is funny. Who in their right minds would celebrate the day they got hit by a car and left for dead in the middle of a busy street?

Um, well, if you get rescued, your leg gets fixed up, you make a squillion new friends, and get a furrever home in the end... Me!

I was a feral kit. I didn't even have a name, so they wrote "No Name Yet" on the bill. It was two pages long...

Mom was one of the many cat lovers who helped with green papers to pay this big bill to fix my "bionic leg."

Ugly, isn't it? It healed up great, and I can run and jump like any other cat.  Ask Mom, she can never catch me (heh!)

That was nine years ago.  I have a terrific furrever home, friends all over the world, and I am a Very Lucky Cat.

Who would have thought that the very worst day of my short life would turn out to be one of the best of what has become a long, full life.

Life is indeed funny. Mom says we should all keep our "I love yous" up to date.

Thank you, and I love you all.

smootchies,
Millie

My Special Day!

Today is a special day for me. Eight years ago today (gosh, I can't believe it was that long ago) was the worst day of my life, and it was almost the LAST day of my life.  I got hit by a car, and was left for dead in the middle of a busy street. I couldn't move, and I was terrified as cars zoomed by.

It turned out to be the BEST day of my life (until then) because I was rescued by Malcolm.  You can read the story here, and see the very scary pictures of my broken leg.  I needed expensive surgery and cat lovers all over the world helped Malcolm raise the thousand green papers needed to fix me up.

My leg did get fixed and I can run and jump any time I want. Later I moved to New Hampster to my furrever home with my Mom and my big brother Gizzy and sister Jasmine. They went to the Bridge the following year, but they taught me how to be "social."

Now I live the life of a Top Cat with my Mom, who loves me very much. I have lots of furriends all over the world and I have had many excellent adventures.

I'm a very lucky cat, and I have lots of folks to thank for it. If you own part of my bionic leg, I want to thank you from the very bottom of my happy heart.

Seven Years Ago Today

Seven years ago today, I was a feral kitty, and I got hit by a car. As you can see my leg was broken and my hip was dislocated. It hurt bad, and I couldn't move. I was terrified, stuck in the middle of the street with cars zooming past.

Bast must have been watching out for me, because somebody [Malcolm] picked me up and saved my life.

The rest is history. My leg got fixed and cat lovers around the world helped by sending green papers to pay for my bionic leg.

Life is funny, and like Mom says, the world changes every day. That was a very bad day, and it became a very good day.

I did not like being held. Some things never change.

Truthful Thursday

Thank you all for remembering my Rescue-versary. Mom and I knew the day was coming, but we both forgot to post about it.  I am so happy it turned out to be a Very Good Day because it could so easily have been my Very Last Day.  The stars were all aligned that day. Malcolm rescued me, and everybody helped.  There are lots of Good Folks in the world.

Getting back to Monday's post about Mom making the bed, Mom likes to make the bed for a couple of reasons. First, when you come to visit, you see the bed from the door when you enter. Mom doesn't want visitors to see a sloppy bed.  Secondly, Mom likes the blankets a certain way when she gets into bed at night, and if it hasn't been made in the morning, Mom has to do a lot of rearranging, and she doesn't like that. But the biggest reason Mom likes to make the bed is to show off the fantastic quilt her friends Julie and Chris made for her with her leftover bits from other quilts.

The Fresh Stuff

You all know how much I love my 'Nip. Mom grows it for me. Yesterday she brought me the "trimmings" from my own 'Nip garden. You all know the dried stuff is good. The fresh stuff is pretty good too! Sometimes the littlest things can be the best!

****Four years ago today, I almost went to the Bridge. I got hitted by a car, and Malcolm rescued me. The rest, as they say, is history. You can read the story here, but be forewarned, it's long, so make yourself comfortable!

Three Year Rescue-versary

Today is my 3-Year Rescue-versary!

Three years ago I was a feral kitten living in Connecticat, and I got hit by a car. I almost went to the Bridge. My leg was badly broken. I was stuck in the middle of the street and I couldn't move.

Malcolm rescued me, and later, many other cat loving beans helped with the green papers to pay the v-e-t to fix my broken leg. A couple of months later, I moved here to New Hampster, to my forever home.

You can read a short version here, and the whole story here. My story continues, and it's a -really- good story. You have all been a part of it, and Mom and I are extremely grateful. My life changed three years ago today. Mom didn't know it at the time, but hers did too.

Now I am a spoiled well-loved kitty. I am Top Cat, have a Mom who really loves me, a handsome mancat boyfriend, and friends all over the world. I get stinky goodness, temptations treats and I get to sleep in nice clean laundry.

And no cars to worry about! What could be better than that?

One-year Rescue-Versary!

A year ago today, my life almost ended. I got hitted by a car, and my leg was badly broken and my hip was dislocated. I was in the middle of a busy street with cars zooming by. I was terrified. Malcolm was on his way to get his second iced coffee and saw me, ran into the middle of the street and carried me to safety. He couldn't find my mom, and nobody knew where I belonged, so he did the only thing he could think of - he picked me up and ran to the New Haven Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine.

Malcolm already had a cat, and surely didn't need another one, but he stepped up to the plate and because of him I am alive today.

I didn't even have a name! I was called "No Name Yet" or "NNY"

Lookit those stitches!

Here is the x-ray of my leg, after it was fixed. That's a titanium rod in my leg.

Many of you already know this story, having found out about me way back then through Malcolm's blog. Here is the link to the Story of How Malcolm Rescued Me, and if you keep reading, you will find out how I got my name, and how beans and the cat blogosphere got together and saved me.

Today is my Rescue-versary (thanks Daisy). Were it not for Malcolm, I would be at the Rainbow Bridge. In one way, that day a year ago was the worst day of my life. By a twist of Fate, it turned out to be one of the best days of my life.

Malcolm is my HERO!
