My 9th Gotcha-versary!

Wow! Time flies when you're having fun.  Today is my 9th Gotcha-versary.  Happy Me!

I got a Mom, a house, a front porch, two kitty condos, all the stinky goodness, crunchies and 'Nip I could ever ask for, a water fountain, furriends all over the world, and most of all, a safe Home.

What more could a Cat want?

If you're reading this today, thank you. If you contributed to my bionic leg, thank you. If you are Malcolm in Maine, or Max in California, thank you.

Seven Years Ago Today

Seven years ago today, I was a feral kitty, and I got hit by a car. As you can see my leg was broken and my hip was dislocated. It hurt bad, and I couldn't move. I was terrified, stuck in the middle of the street with cars zooming past.

Bast must have been watching out for me, because somebody [Malcolm] picked me up and saved my life.

The rest is history. My leg got fixed and cat lovers around the world helped by sending green papers to pay for my bionic leg.

Life is funny, and like Mom says, the world changes every day. That was a very bad day, and it became a very good day.

I did not like being held. Some things never change.

Formerly Feral Friday

Only if you are formerly feral, do you truly understand the benefits of a good home, a cat hammock near a window, air-colditioning and a great Mom.

I am a very lucky girlcat.

Tattle-Tale Tuesday

I love my Mom. She's pretty terrific. She isn't perfect though. I am sure that is an endearing quality in some universe, but for me it's just a good tattle-tale.

A squillion years ago, Mim-may gave Mom this notebook with cool Laurel Burch blue cats.

Mom uses it to remember stuff. As you can see, she writes stuff she needs to buy when she goes food-hunting, the stuff she wants to cook and the things she has to do. Mom liked that it had a bookmark and the cover closed with a magnet.
She was getting to the end, when my dear sweetheart Monty Q and SheBean sent her a brandy spanking new one.Mom was Over The Moon with excitement. She started filling it right up, and last week she brought it with her when she goes food hunting, like she always does. When she was done, she put it in her bag, and came home.

Except she didn't.

Put it in her bag, I mean. She came home.

She couldn't find the black book. She looked in all the bags. She looked in the metal masheen. She moved every single thing in the house looking for the black book, but she couldn't find it.

She was seriously bummed.

So on Saturday, when she was at the local bookstore, she bought herself a new one. It has a bookmark, and closes with a magnet.
When she went food hunting the next day, she had an idea, and went to the Customer Service Desk and asked if anybody found a black notebook.

Without saying a word, the lady reached into a drawer and handed this to Mom.

(Ahem!)

Got Ice? Got Electricity? Got Lucky!

In New Hampster yesterday we had rain, then it got so cold everything froze. This is the bush out front.

This might look pretty, but it is Very Very BAD! The tree branches get so heavy, they drag the tree right over. See...This happened all over the state yesterday. The trees fell over onto electrical wires, crashed into cars, and even went through the roof of a house. The toppled trees blocked roads making getting around very hard. Many schools were closed. Over one million houses and businesses lost power. Most of those had no heat. And the local grocery store was open, but had no milk, no meat and no "perishables." The local Mall closed for the day.

What's really bad is that many of the homes without electricity won't get it restored soon and it is supposed to be Really Really Cold the next couple of days.

Mom and I were very lucky. When we woke up yesterday we had power, and heat.

Secret Saturday

My Secret Paw was my sweetheart, Monty Q! Isn't that amazing? He was very surprised and couldn't believe that he got my name.

He sent me not one, but TWO special beds, a beautiful leopard one for me, and a blue one for Jasmine. (Hers is blue and it's bigger because she is fatter than me)... uh oh...

Millie, Jasmine isn't fat. She only weighs twelve pounds. Some cats in the blogosphere weigh over 16 pounds or more, like Fat Eric. Stop calling Jasmine fat. She's just bigger than you.

OK, so Jasmine's is bigger because she is. Bigger. (sound effect of Millie doing a raspberry)

Monty Q tested my bed very carefully. When his Mombean was getting ready to finish it, he got into it and curled right up.

But that wasn't all. He also sent me my favorite treat, a nice bag of BEEF Temptations and a neat feather ball toy that is also leopard like.

And of course, there's the box.

Today is supposed to be a very lucky day. I am already a lucky girl to have Monty Q as my sweetheart.

Mom finished 3 more Holiday Gizzy quilts. She has now finished 11. She can't decide if she likes one better than all the others.

She's gonna watch the tennis at Wimbledon again today. And she said something about making a couple of tree skirts. We cats all know what those are good for. (answer = nothing)
