A Millie Calendar!

Mom went to this place... Vistaprint, and she made a calendar for 2016 full of pictures of ME!!! Isn't that PAWESOME!!! Here are just a few of the photos she used in the calendar.

Presents. Mom Gets Presents

Mom came home from day hunting yesterday with not one, not two, but THREE presents for herself.

Mom got a calendar from her friend Miss Julie. It has pictures of the quilts Julie made in 2015.

Julie added my Gotcha Day!!!  Isn't that awesome?

Julie's husband Larry makes beautiful turned wood objects, and he made Mom this awesome bowl. (Mom is a bowl freak).

This is the present Mom brought home for herself. As you can see, she was lying. It DOES fit under the Christymas tree.

Of course she had to set it up.

Getting Ready for Christymas...

As you can see Mom switched the table quilt from the Turkey Day one to the Christymas one. You can see our Santa, and this year's Amaryllis plant. That box over at the other end of the table contains some Christymas presents for the family that Mom had specially made. More on that later. Lots later, because Mom doesn't want to spoil the surprise.

What's on the computer? Something really special...

It's this year's Jacquie Lawson advent calendar. You can get more information here. Mom loves these, and has been getting them every year for a while now. This year she gave them to all her day hunting pals. Every day there is a surprise and something to do. Mom and I already decorated the big tree and made snowflakes.

Our tree isn't up yet, but Mom says it's coming.

Right now it's in the bathtub. Yeah, I don't get it either, but hey, I'm only a cat.  How are you getting ready for Christymas?

Christymas Decorations

Mom doesn't go over the top with decorations, but I think our house looks very nice.

Mom says we are supposed to have more snow and nasty weather tomorrow.  Winter hasn't even started yet and it's already a doozy.

Oh No, More Snow!

While I did this yesterday,

Mom took down all the Christy-mas decorations and put the Santa away.

all the decorations are in these four boxes which Mom brought down to the dungeon.

but that's not the biggest news. We're supposed to have a big, long snowstorm starting early Thursday morning and ending Friday afternoon. On Wednesday night schools in Mass and some in New Hampster have already cancelled classes for both Thursday AND Friday.

Mom has already decided to ask for a vacation day on Friday.

What can I say? It's winter in New Hampster.

Saturday Caturday

Sorry I've been away. Mom got a cold on Christymas Eve and has been feeling poorly. She went day-hunting on Boxing day, but her Boss told her to go home, so she spent a lot of time sacked out on the couch.  Here's proof:

She's feeling better today, so she doesn't need me to hold her down. She's off spending the green papers that are trapped in all those plastic cards she got for Christymas.

Speaking of which. Remember Homer, the blind cat? His person wrote a book about him. Well, his person wrote another book, and this one is a story seen through a cat's point of view. Mom and I read it, and it's very good. It is called Love Saves the Day, and you can find all about it here. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a heated cat cup and a nap I want to get back to...

Snowy Sunday!

Yup! It started snowing yesterday afternoon, and it snowed off and all all evening. There are still clumps of leafs on the tree. Now they have snow on them.To get out of her funk, Mom started decorating for Christymas. The big box with the Christymas tree is up from the dungeon, so naturally I had to examine it closely.

Very closely.And then there was all this other stuff...Can you see my Holiday Gizzy? After all that work, I needed a nap. Here's my new favorite napping spot. That's my pink blankie, and the basket is the one Gizzy used to nap in every day.

Saturday Caturday

Sea Three Pee O, there are still leafs stuck to this tree. You will not win the Last Leaf Falls Contest.

Mom's a bit blue. She had a fantastic week last week, what with all her friends and fambly visiting, and all that cooking and eating... Now they are all gone, and she is moping around a bit.

I have told her to Get Going! Christsymas is right around the corner, and she has to start getting ready. Our Santa has already come up from the dungeon, and she needs to decorate the house. I need to frolic through all the stuff and make messes!

She has already bought little presents for KidBean and SweetBean, and she needs to wrap them up and give them to the Man in Bloo Shorts. I know that once she Starts Going, she will be fine, so I have my work cut out for me today.

Sunday Christymas Baking

The hot-as-hell box is getting a workout today. Mom's baking more homemade bread and cookies. Cheese bread and Snickerdoodles this time, along with more English Muffin Bread.

Oh, and it's supposed to snow again. Again.

Holiday Shenanigans

Every year, when Mom decorates for Christymas, she puts a Santa hat on this sculpture she did. This year was no exception.This past weekend, the whole fambly came over to decorate our Christymas tree. When they left, the lady looked like this:

Merry Millie Monday

Lookit! Mom made me my very own Christymas stocking! And she made it from the nice red fabric that Kimo & Sabi sent! Mom was all apologizing because she wasn't able to go to the fabric store and get all kinds of geegaws like pompons and fuzzy stuff to decorate my stocking. But what do I care? It has mice, and it has 'Nip, but most of all, it is the same size as Mr Karate's stocking, and it says MILLIE on it, which means it's MINE!



Whoopee! I can't wait till tomorrow morning to see what is inside my Christymas stocking!

OH! That means Christymas is one sleep away! I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait!

work work work, and a special surprise

Mom has to go day hunting today. Again. It's Saturday, for goodness' sake! She got home last night, had dinner, fed me, then climbed into bed! She slept for almost three hours, then got up and went food hunting. She came back with about a gazillion bags and some big jugs. One of the jugs was filled with salt. The other night while shoveling, she fell. She's got ugly black bruises on her legs and one knee is sore. So she has a big jug of salt to put on the snow. I don't think it's big enough to get rid of all the snow.


But that's not what I really want to tell you. Mom and I have decided to have a special offer on the Gizzy quilts. Christymas Season Begins

Mom will start decorating for Christymas this weekend. This is the first thing she put up. You all know she makes Gizzy Quilts. Well, a few years ago, she made some quilted chessboards. This is one she made with Christymas fabrics. Anyways, she hangs a different chessboard up on this wall every month. Later today she will put up more Christymas decorations around the house.

She has almost all of her Christymas shopping finished. She just has to get something for Pip-pay. And she is working in the sewing room on things I have to keep secret. I can say the secret things are for...

(no, you can't say that either Millie.)

Mom told me about secrets and surprises. I like to surprise my friends, so if I want it to be a surprise, I have to keep it a secret. Oh! I get it now. I will try harder to keep secrets so they can be good surprises! I kept the nice surprise about the Gizzy quilts for Jan's Funny Farm, so I know I can keep the secrets Mom wants me to keep. Good thing I can share them with Mom!

Okay. Well, look what I found on Google's blog: It's the story of how NORAD came to track Santa Claus and how Google will be helping this year. It looks like lots of fun, and I will be checking every day.
