Formerly Feral Friday

Bird TV is back, and today's show is pretty good.

As a formerly feral cat, I can tell you living inside is better than living outside.  I got to sleep in a nice warm bed last night while it rained really hard. This morning I had a nice breakfast of BEEF stinky goodness and now I am safe and cozy watching the birdies flit about in the bushes outside my window. The leaves on the tree across the street are starting to change color. The hots are going south and soon the window will be closed to keep the cold air out.

In other news, my big bro Beau is traveling to his new home today. I am sure he is very nervous about the trip, and am sending him lots of purrs.  You can follow his traveling itinerary here. Bon Voyage Beau!

Not Wordless

Mom woke up in the middle of the night last night (she does that a lot) and rolled over.  When she did, she was surprised to see me curled up next to her, sleeping.  (I usually jump away when she rolls herself over.)

Of course I had moved when she finally woke up in the morning.

I like to keep surprising her.

Tattle Tale Tuesday

I love getting scritches, and Mom and I have a daily routine. After she is dressed and has made the bed, she sits down, and I come over and get my morning scritches.  I don't sit right next to her. I rub up against her back and end up with my butt against her hip, so she has to reach around.  If she gets the flashy box out, I usually run away.  Sometimes she snaps off a picture before I do. Most of the time it is really fuzzy, but today it wasn't, so you have photographic evidence of this event.

Millie Monday

OH! OH! Can you see them?
Can you see those two little birdies on the branch right outside my window?
I love watching the little birdies.  I spent most of the day watching them.

Mom, on the other hand, has been doing all kinds of stupid stuff. She washed the dirty pots and pans, paid all the Mister Bills, cleaned the recycling bin and dragged the rug sucking monster all over the house.  She has been giving the shredder a good workout. (She brings boxes up from the basement, takes the papers out and puts them in the shredder. It makes a heckuva racket and I don't want to be anywhere near it when it's going.)  There's a lot of junk in the basement, and Mom wants to get rid of most of it. I guess a lot of it has to take a trip through the shredder first.

I'm glad I don't live in the basement.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

It's hot and sticky here. Not like summer, but uncomfortable for this time of the year. I've been hiding under the bed (it's cooler).  Once in a while though, I have to run out and rub up against my scratching pad.

Finally Friday

I'm in the middle of nice clean warm sheets from the dryer. I'm the middle of an O.

Happy Friday!

Whatever! Day

I told you Mom moved stuff around in the computer room.  Here it is. She moved this big desk (the desktop is a solid-core door) to the other side of the room. (You wanna know the BIG secret? She took all the papers that were on the top of the desk and stuffed them in a drawer!)

That's the window where my cat hammock was.  I can still sit on the desk and look outside.

Mom's also been having a shredding party every night.  She's got boxes of paper she runs through the shredder until it gets mad and stops.  She says she's going to clean out the dungeon  basement too.

Unh huh. I'll believe it when I see it.

Then again the stupid upstairs next door neighbors have got her saying bad words again...she's even uttered the M-word!

Tuesday Tuesday

Oh my Bast!  Can you see them?  There are almost a squillion birdies in the bush outside my window.
Can you see them now? Mom sneaked the flashy box between  the mini blinds to take this picture. I know it's kinda fuzzy, but there are LOTS of birdies out there.
Did my Mom put the cat hammock in the right place or what?

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Well kitties, summer is leaving us. It is going to visit Poppy Q and all my other friends in Australia and New Zealand.  Mom's washed the cover on my heated cat cup and it's plugged in, so it will be nice and warm for me whenever I need it.

Of course it needs a thorough inspection first.

Saturday Caturday

Mom is feeling very good about herself today.  She did the food hunting and the washing machine shuffle last night. She changed the sheets on her bed and today she wreck-un-tiled THREE months worth of papers from the bank. She even ran the dishwashing monster. All she has left in her to-do list is to wash the giant pile of dirty dishes in the kitchen and drag the rug-sucking monster around.

So why am I giving her the evil eye?

Because she "forgot" to post my blog yesterday.

Yeah, I know she's busy and everything, but still.

This is a good napping spot too.

Tattle-tale Tuxie Tuesday

Mom and I watched the Men's final of the US Open tennis yesterday afternoon.  Now, I like to bat the ball around as much as the next cat, but holey toledo!  Watching Nadal and Djokovic battle exhausted me. Djokovic won, but Nadal made him earn it.

Then Mom and I watched my friends, the guys named Pat.  That perked me right up! I love Wes Welker! Check out why here.

Monday Move

Mom decided to do a little rearranging yesterday. She moved my cat hammock from the old sewing room to her bedroom window.
I can see the birdies in the bush outside, and I can watch the cars go by.  The cat hammock is over the heater, so I will still be warm in the winter.

What else did Mom do?  She moved her computer desk around, and generally made a big mess.

Then we watched Aussie Samantha Stosur win the Women's Final at the US Open.  YAY Sam!

Mom's going back to her day hunting gig today. Her vacation is over.

Remembering 9/11

It was before my time, but Mom says it was a really tough day to witness. There is a live webcam of the site here. I don't understand why Mom looks at it like, every five minutes.

This is one of those days when I'm really glad I'm a cat, and yet at the same time, I feel sad because I'm only a cat.

Remembering Cathy

Beau and his Mom Cathy were among the very first friends I made in BlogLand.  Beau and Cathy sent me  some toys when I came here to my Forever Home. Beau thinks of me as his little sister, so Cathy was always a very special aunt to me.  Mom and I are leaking at the news of Cathy's passing.

We will miss Cathy, and hope Beau adjusts to his new (non-blogging) home.

Mo-Cats Day!

If it wasn't for cats on the innernets, I wouldn't be here, so I am a BIG supporter of Mo-Cats Day!
MO Cats! MO Cats! MO Cats!

Not Wordless Wednesday

I am glad you enjoyed my trip-to-the-vet story yesterday. It wasn't nearly as exciting as last year's. Last year's visit to the vet was quite an adventure.

You can read Part One here.

Then on to Part Two here.

Part Three was the best part, here.

This year, as you know, was quite different.  Mom thought you would all like to know just HOW she got me into the PTU so easily this year.

HAHAHAHAHA!  I'm not going to let her!

Tuesday, September 06, 2011

Oh, The Indignity!

I do not know how it happened, but Mom got me in the PTU  (Prisoner Transport Unit) this morning, and it took her less than two minutes!

I did not see it coming.  One minute she was petting me nicely, and the next minute she was holding me!

I was Not Happy!  I hissed and scratched. Before I knew it, I was being stuffed headfirst into the PTU.

I meowed. I tried to get out. It did not work.  I was stuck!

Mom put on her jacket, and carried me to the metal masheen.

We went for a little drive, and then I was at the V-E-T's.
Mom opened the door of the PTU, but I'm not stupid, I stayed put.

The vet, Dr L, examined me, and pronounced me "perfect." Big deal, I already knew that. I got shot. But the worst was yet to come.

Two nice girls came in to visit me. One grabbed me by the scruff of the neck and turned me over, while the other one trimmed my claws!

Oh, the indignity!

I am home now.  I think I earned the treats Mom gave me. Now I am going to have a nap.

Sneaky

This is not good.
And I'm not stupid enough to fall for this.Nope. Ain't gonna happen.

Sunday, September 04, 2011

Oh Oh!

Holy Bast!
Not again! Is it that time of year ALREADY???

Oops!

This is what a dead Kindle looks like. The screen saver is streaky and stuck. Mom's kinda blue. All the books she wants to read, and all the games she was playing, are stuck inside.

Mom called the Amazons and they are going to send her a new one.  It should arrive next week.Mom says it could be worse.  At least she finished the book she was reading before it died.

*** I am in mufti as Mom and I are out of town. I have been on a boat called a fairy and I have driven past vineyards. Today Mom will say a prayer at a rufruf for her friend who is getting married.

The Amazons told Mom she wouldn't lose any of the books she had on her Kindle. Which is cool.

Formerly Feral Friday

It's important for a kitty to stay fit and flexible. I'm practicing my kitty yoga. I might need it.

Whodunit?

HONESTLY! She did it again! Mom read an ENTIRE BOOK on her Kindle in ONE day!

She claims the book just "appeared" on her Kindle, poof! Just like that! (How gullible does she think I am, anyway?)

She picked it up, made herself comfortable on the couch and started reading.

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TENNIS MATCH!
She finished it a few hours later.
