Slow, then Snow, Saturday

Mom got up this morning, fed me my stinky goodness and crunchies and then opened the door to the Sewing Studio. I went right out there to check out my domain.

Mom went into the kitchen and started cooking some gar-ban-zo beans. Then she made some corn bread and stuck that in the oven. While that was smelling up the house she made two loaves of her English Muffin Bread. Then she went food hunting.

When she came back, she was in a hurry, so I knew she was going to go right back out again.  She put the foods away and then took Mim-may to the quilt shop in Henniker where she brought one quilt for them to hang on display, and took another one home. She brought Mim-may to buy a few groceries and then they got the metal masheen washed.

While she did that, I did this.

Back at home Mom made some granola and is finishing cooking the gar-ban-zo beans. I am still doing this.

We are expecting more of the white stuff, so neither of us will be doing much.
We have now had as much snow as we usually have ALL WINTER LONG.  Mom says winter isn't even halfway over.

Sheesh.

Sunny Saturday

Mom plans to take it easy today.  Me too.

Here's what it looks like outside today. It is supposed to be well above freezing today, and should stay sunny all day. Mom is hoping a lot of the stuff will melt. She doesn't care about the SNOW, she wants the ice on the driveway to melt, and all the snow on the roof to melt too.

I have her promise to add the names of the When When Contest to my sidebar today also.

Enjoy the day, kitties.

Snowy Saturday

This is what it looks like outside this morning. As you can see we have a lot of snow. Guess what? We are supposed to get MORE snow later today.

Lookit the beautiful pink roses and lilies Mr Karate and Rubylocks sent Mom for Valentine's Day. Mom was sqee-ing something wicked when they were brought to her at her day-hunting gig.

I have sniffed them thoroughly, but they are not as good as 'Nip.

I shall spend the day napping on my new favorite napping spot. A great big soft puffy fleece pillow.

Saturday Caturday

Mom's cleaning the house and doing some sewing today. She's gonna go out to lunch with Mim-may later.

Me? I'm gonna nap.

Super Saturday

Mom and I are home in New Hampster now, but I know you all want to see a picture of Mom with Mr Karate and Rubylocks. This was taken at Manhattan Beach, Catifornia.

It was a great trip, and I had a grand time, but it's nice to be home and nap on your own quilt.

Snoozy Saturday

Um, haven't you got tennis to watch, Mom?

Saturday Caturday

No matter where I hide I have to come out to eat.

Spiffy Saturday

It doesn't get any spiffier than this. Lying next to Mom while we both enjoy the tennis and the blogs.

What Do You Do When It's Ninety-Two?

Find a cool spot (see the fan in the corner?)

Take a nap.

If you're Mom, you make a nice healthy lunch (The recipe is here) and sit back on the couch and watch tennis on TV.

Saturday Caturday

Who would have ever thought that given a bowl of fresh BEEF Stinky Goodness, that I would ASK for a bowl of crunchies, and eat them?

Ah, life is good.

Lookit this photo taken this morning.

Saturday Caturday

I got tired of having snow pictures lead off my blog, so I put my paw down.  Mom snapped this photo of me this morning.

Here is the obligatory outside snow shot.

Mom likes it when there is no snow on the driveway or the street. She likes it when the snowbanks on either side of the road are gone so it's easier to drive. Otherwise the snow doesn't bother Mom much at all.

So when will this stuff melt?

Dunno, but there is no snow forecast for the next week, and above freezing temperatures during the day.

A New Quilt

Mom has a new quilt that she bought from one of her quilting idols, Wanda Hanson.  Naturally I had to examine it very thoroughly.

Anyway, when I'm finished, I'm gonna nap. Mom will be watching Wimbledon.

It's gonna be a great day, I can tell.

Saturday Caturday

Mom is feeling very good about herself today.  She did the food hunting and the washing machine shuffle last night. She changed the sheets on her bed and today she wreck-un-tiled THREE months worth of papers from the bank. She even ran the dishwashing monster. All she has left in her to-do list is to wash the giant pile of dirty dishes in the kitchen and drag the rug-sucking monster around.

So why am I giving her the evil eye?

Because she "forgot" to post my blog yesterday.

Yeah, I know she's busy and everything, but still.

Slow Saturday...

It's going to be a nice, easy, slow day here today. It rained last night, but it is sunny and warm now. Mom and I will be having a nice relaxing day watching the Tennis.Mom is on stay-cation again next week, and we haven't got much planned next week either...
HEY! WAIT A MINUTE!

Sunny Saturday

We're home, safe and sound. Mom says there's no place like your own bed. Your own window's pretty good too.

As you can see the unpacking has already started. Mom's got to do a little food hunting today, run a few errands and restock my stash of stinky goodness.

Sew-Sew Saturday

Mom's sewing. That means nothing else is getting done. Works for me.

Slow Saturday

Mom's test went very well. They found something called a pollup and took it out, and now it is going to be tested. Let's keep all our toes & paws crossed it isn't anything. A genetic relative has colon cancer, so Mom's chances are 18% higher than average.

After the test she was a little unsteady on her feet. Mimmay brought her home and helped her get settled. Mom had oatmeal and hot chocolate, then got into bed and we had a nice 3 hour nap. I have been sleeping next to her, making sure she is OK.

She has to have only "soft foods" for the next three days. I wonder if she will get a hint and give me stinky goodness! I like some soft foods too!

She had thought she would get some housecleaning done this weekend. HAH! They told her not to do anything strenuous, or do any heavy lifting.
