Freaky Friday!!

You are not going to believe this.

MOM went home to New Hampster.

And I stayed in sunny California to spend a week with Mrs P and her third grade students near Passa Dena.

Mrs P and me at Nick's in Manhattan Beach CA
Mrs P has been telling her students about me for years, so when she and Mom had dinner the other night with Mr Karate and Rubylocks, I thought it would be a good learning experience to spend a week with Mrs P and her third graders.

So here I am!

Lookit! I have a special bed at Mrs P's house, and I am sleeping under a Gizzy quilt that Mom made for Mrs P's cat Rusty. (Rusty is now at the Bridge.)

This is the quilt Mom made for Rusty, Mrs P's ginger boy. Can you find him?

I am sure we will all learn new things. Since Mom is going to be a Mim-may, I am going to have to get used to little sticky people. Mom says third graders aren't that little or sticky. Mrs P says her class has the highest math scores in the district. That sounds like a win-win proposition to me, so I'll be here for a few more days, and I'll fly home to New Hampster later.

And you know, I really like the SUNNY and WARM weather in California.

Heh!

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get some sleeps. These kids are furry bizzy and I can't take as many naps as usual when I am in class with them.

Freaky Friday

Yeah, okay, take a deep breath. I'm actually IN a box.

Now get over it, because I didn't stay in there.

Freaky Friday

Mom decided she needed a new chair for the living room, so she went shopping last night.

She came home with this instead.  No, I don't get it either.

**Mom's got a lot going on lately, and she won't be able to help me blog every single day like usual. She wanted me to let you all know so you wouldn't worry. It might be a couple of times a week for a month or two, but not to worry, I'll still be here. :-)

Freaky Friday

Mom has been shopping.

It sounds perfectly normal, I know. But this is different. This is weird. Let me show you.

Last night she came home with this pink purse. She didn't need a new purse, but she saw it and fell in love. She said it would "match."  Match what? She isn't pink.

The other night she came home with this stack of stuff. New undies, socks, and a bathrobe. (A couple of weeks ago she brought in a new nightgown.) That's not so strange, she wears stuff like this every day, but she didn't put these things away in her bureau. Hmmm...

When these shoes came home, I started to wonder. These shoes have holes in them. What good are they for? Mom usually wears sneakers. I am not sure if these shoes can even stay on her feets!

This, though, has me worried. Mom says it is a "bathing suit."  Look, I dunno about you, but when I take a bath I don't put stupid stuff ON, and I've seen Mom washing herself in the rainbox and she doesn't have anything on in there either, but what this is for, I have no idea. I've never, ever seen Mom in a "bathing suit" before. (All things considered though, I think the color choice is just fine.)

This doesn't make any sense at all. Inside this funny looking bottle is water. Well, it looks like water, but it isn't. This stuff stinks. Mom was all excited, gushing all over the place. "Oh Millie, doesn't this smell wonderful?"  Oh yeah, sure Mom, I can smell it across the room, you don't need to get any closer with that stuff...

Over the last few weeks she's been bringing other stuff home too. Shirts and pants mostly. Stuff she normally wears in warm weather.

I'm telling you, something freaky is going on...

Freaky Friday

Last night Mom and I had our dinners and then Mom did the dishes. When she looked out the window, she thought it was foggy, but when she got a better look...

It was snowing.

Twenty minutes later, it was over.

Mom says it was a "snow squall."

I guess a snow squall is a lot better than a blizzard.

Freaky Friday

Lookit what Mom brought home last night.
That's a crate for a WOOFIE!!!!

You can see right through it. It has TWO doors.

Mom must think she can trick me into getting into this thing to get the treats she put for me in the corners.
All I have to do is reach in there with my paw, grab the treat and pull it out.

Heh.

Freaky Friday

I've been getting my nightly treats in this box for several weeks now, but this is ominous.  There's no question about it.

There's something mighty strange happening right outside my window...

Freaky Friday

Well, Mom is in love with her new Kindle. It's in COLOR, so now she's all excited.  She can surf the innernets and check her email on it too.  Good thing she can't take pictures with it.  Oh wait, she got a new camera before we went on vacation.  Mom is such a gadget queen. (She thought about getting one of those spiffy new iPads but decided against it.)

Yeah, things are back to normal around here. Mom's got six hundred eighty-four things going on (like usual).  She's got quilts to finish, and books half read. (She finished the first Harry Potter book and started right in on the second.) What does she do?  She buys more fabric (she wants to make dresses for SweetBean) and more books.

But go figure.  She went to the bookstore (a real one) and brought home a book called "Throw Out Fifty Things."

Yup, things are back to normal around here.

Freaky Friday

Uh-oh! Mom's been cleaning like a maniac, and now she's got the serving dishes out. Something is up!Oh yeah. Even -I- don't drink this much water. Something is definitely up.

You Have Got To Be Kidding Me Friday

More freaking snow.

It's supposed to be minus 13 F on Monday! (That's -25C. And yes, that's frickin' cold!)

Can you find me? (tee hee!)

Finally Friday (and a little Freaky!)

Mom got her swap quilt from Helen, in Oz. Naturally, I had to inspect it first. It came rolled up in a tube with all kinds of cool stamps. Now she is waiting on tenterhooks for Helen to receive the quilt she made. I can't wait for the stuff around here to stop moving. It's a little crazy. I like to watch what's going on, not hide under the bed. Mom says "almost finished, Millie" but then she moves something else. Every night another move. Nothing's moving today, though. Mom is hunting the ever-elusive Month End and that means she won't be home until very late.

Ayla and Iza and TBT suggested in yesterday's comments that bloggers leave instructions about the computer and their passwords in a secure spot if "the awful awful" happens. Mom has that taken care of already. She did it for the day hunting gig and says it took her a week and a half and ten pages.

Now that freaks me out!

Freaky Friday

I understand there is this silly movie where a mom and daughter somehow get switched into each other's bodies, and it is called Freaky Friday. Well, turnabout is fair play. You all know what I eat for breakfast. Here's what Mom had one morning this week. And this was -before- she poured the milk into the bowl. I simply cannot understand why she thinks the stuff in this bowl is better than a can of stinky goodness.

I just don't get it.

I told you it was freaky Friday!

Freaky Friday

Is this really necessary?I mean, dragging the rug sucking monster around is one thing, but piling up everything onto the tables is just plain freaky.
You notice how Mom never posts pictures of her sewing room when it's -REALLY- messy?

Freaky, isn't it?

How Cold Was It?

It was 2 degrees F (-17C) when we woke up yesterday morning, and Mom found this in the kitchen:

Our house has double paned, insulated windows. One of the panes in the kitchen window cracked and broke. You can click the pictures to biggify. If you click this second one, you can see a piece that broke off and fell in the space between the two panes.

Now that's what I call freaky. This morning it was supposed to be -3F (-19C), but the temperature is predicted to be about 53F (12C) on Tuesday. Go figure.

The landlord has been notified.
