Silly Saturday

Mr Karate came over yesterday, and he and Mom and Auntie Karate and Mr Big and PlusOne all went to see the movie Wall-e. Then Mr Karate came over for chick-hen and corn on the cob. He helped Mom take pictures of the quilt for Violette, and this one, that Mom started way back in January:
Here's the back: (You may remember this because the first time Mom sewed it up she got it wrong, and had to take it apart and re-do it.)

This is a Queen Size Quilt, which means it is very big, and very heavy. Mr Karate got tired waiting for Mom to adjust the camera, so she took a picture of him with a grumpy look on his face:

He's really not -that- tall, of course. He's standing on the top step of the step stool. You can see the step-stool feet in the first picture. (And if you biggify the top picture, you can see his fingers. If you biggify the bottom one you can see his funny grumpy expression!)

In other news, Mom has got all the laundry done (she will fold it today while watching Venus and Serena), and all the dishes done. And she went food hunting. Still no sign of the rug-sucking monster, but I have a feeling that's coming soon.

As for me, well, I am practicing for The Contest.

Very purrty quilts... what contest are you practicing for? Or are you really showing us that the quilts are "this big"... how big?

I wasn't grumpy! I was just conserving my strength. There's no reason to keep holding it up when Mom's waiting for the camera.... =P

Have you ever tried to stand on a wobbly stool holding a LARGE quilt up over your head with your arms fully extended.... for 10 minutes? I didn't think so.

I was happy to help, Mom knows. =)

oh and one other thing, I LOVE THAT QUILT. oh it is so beautiful. I have my own blue quilt, which i adore, but this is one of mom's -best ever- quilts. I want one like this!

Mom says she understands Mr Karate's need to rest his arms... quits are quite heavy, especially when you're holding them up over your head!!
