This is the view from where I am staying, overlooking Garigal National Park. It, and I, am in Oz.
Here I am in a banksia tree. It's in the high 60's here during the day.
Here I am in the wattle. At night it gets down to the mid 40's. Not too cold as far as I am concerned, but those who live around here disagree with me.
Here I am in a bird's nest fern. They say it's winter here, but I don't see any snow, so I'm not buying it.
I am SO EXCITED!!! I am with one of my oldest and very bestest friends.
I am Down Under. I am in Australia, with Megan from Sydney.
Can you see how HAPPY I AM!!! Can you see how EXCITED!! Because I AM!!! I am going to be visiting here in Oz for a while. Naturally I will zip back to the City of Angels to visit Mr Karate & Rubylocks and the new kit, but I will then return to Oz for more sightseeing and visiting with Megan. After that, a big surprise.

Millie's Grand Adventure
I am on an Adventure.
I am far away from home in New Hampster, and I am having a grand time. You can try to guess where I am, but I am not going to tell you just yet.
But I am having fun.

My Tenth Gotcha-versary!
Holy Toledo! Lookit this! It's like it was yesterday, but it was TEN YEARS ago that I got my furrever home with Mom in New Hampster.
I was a cute little kit.
I am full grown now. A Queen, Mom says. I am certainly a queen of this house.
I can't believe it has been ten years. Omigosh, so much has happened. Gizzy and Jasmine, and Monty Q, and Violette...
And quilts, Julie and Chris and all the quilters I have met. And the places I have visited, Mary-land and Catifornia, the City of Angels, Washington DC and the cherry blossoms, St Louis and the Gateway Arch. Long Island and Syracuse in New York and Belfast Maine, and all the countless places in between. The house on Kelley Street and now here in the town of Goff where I have not one but TWO kitty condos, a front porch and my own personal garden to watch over.
And friends, hundreds of them, furry and otherwise from all over the world, from the US to Canada, Germany, England, Austria, New Zealand and Australia. My goodness. I could start naming names, but I'm afraid I'd leave somebody out.
My heart is full of love and good (and sad) memories. Thank you all from the bottom of my furry little heart for being there for me when I needed you. And for Mom, who loves me even though I don't greet her at the door when she comes home, don't come when she calls me, don't sleep next to her at night or sit on her lap, or even (still!) let her pick me up.
But Mom knows I love her, because I really, really do.
Happy Gotchaversary to me, and Happy Got Millie Day to Mom.
It's been a fabulous ten years

Tuxie Tuesday
OK, I'm not ALWAYS on the front porch. Sometimes it rains, and sometimes it cracks and booms. On those occasions it is nice to be someplace very safe where nobody can find me.

Crack and Boom
When the weather gets really hot and sticky, we get crack and boom storms. We had one yesterday that was a doozy. Many homes in New Hampster lost power (but not us.) This is what the sky looked like yesterday just before the storm hit.
I did not stay on the porch.

All About Mom
Mom will be having a birthday soon. She went out last night with one of her besties. After they had dinner, they went shopping. It's kind of a new thing, but my Mom has discovered bracelets.
First it was this one she bought to wear to Mr Karate's wedding.
Then this one because she thought it was so cool. (It's made from a fork.)
Over the last few months she's been adding to her collection, so when she and her bestie came across this display in a store last night...
she kinda lost her mind a little bit, and came home with FIVE new ones.
You can see four of them here, along with shirts, necklaces, earrings and all kind of other silly stuff (like chocolate.) She also bought perfume, and I do NOT know why she needs THAT because I put MY smell on her EVERY day so any cat of woofie knows who she belongs to.
But hey, it's her birthday soon, and my Mom is kinda special, so I'll let it slide.
Have I told you lately how glad I am to be a Cat?

Tuxie Tuesday
I know what you're thinking, but you're wrong. I HAVE moved since I last posted. Just because Mom is busy doing stuff doesn't mean I'm not.
I'm waiting for my friend. A small tabby lady kitty has been visiting me lately. We sit and chat, nose to nose through the screen. Mom shoos her away, but she comes back. Maybe Mom will take a picture next time so you can see. We don't know where my little friend lives, but she comes by regularly.
Hey, somebody I know and love has a birthday this week!

Wordy Wednesday
I particularly love the front porch in the morning before the sun hits and it gets too hot. I'll spend time out here again later when the sun moves to the other side of the house, but in the morning it's the perfect spot.
You know what happened? It got really hot over the weekend, and Mom closed the windows and turned on the A/C. Then she took a nap. She did not know I was camped out on the porch. When she woke up I MEOWED to get back inside. She let me in right away, of course. It's not her fault. I have several hiding places in the house where she can't see me, so she didn't know I was on the porch.
Heh.

Silly Sunday
Mom and I have finally settled in after our vacation in Mary-land. Mom's got the housekeeping up to snuff, and she's got the garden under control. I've been sleeping on the bed next to her, and getting lots of scritches.
Today Mom re-ordered my busy-ness cards, and created some more postcards of her quilts that are currently on exhibit at the AQS shows. She's going to do some sewing, pay the Mr Bills, chat with friends and we'll both watch the tennis at Wimbledon.
It's a gorgeous sunny day and I'm enjoying it.

The Garden
Mom's garden really blossomed while we were in Mary-land. Here are a few pictures.
This is the shade garden.
This is the side garden we see from the kitchen window.
This is the garden in our front yard. Most folks around here have grass. Not Mom. I think it's much prettier.
Mom has lettuce and a-roo-gala in window boxes on the side porch railings.
Of course, no view of our gardens would be complete without a photo of our front steps and the colorful plants Mom has arranged there, and you can see me, too.

TEN YEARS!
WOW! Time flies.
TEN years ago. Count 'em. TEN!
TEN years ago I was hit by a car and left for dead in the middle of a busy street in New Haven Connecticat.
TEN years ago, my leg was broken in two places and my leg was dislocated at the hip.
TEN years ago, Malcolm rescued me, and then hundreds of cat lovers around the world helped with green papers to pay the very big bill and put me back together.
Lookit those stitches.
I am still here. I can run and jump and do whatever I want, thanks in no small way to the cat lovers who helped save my life.
TEN years ago I could have gone to the Rainbow Bridge, but I am still here, enjoying the simple pleasure of being alive.
It has been TEN years, but I have not forgotten those of you who helped save my life.
THANK YOU, once again, from the bottom of my little furry heart.

A Good Vacation Is...
Mom says a good vacation always includes....
Good food. (This is Dim Sum at Tearrific)
Fine Art. (this is at Anne Marie Gardens)
And Fambly.
Check, check, and check.
We'll be home soon. (I'm really eager to get out of these traveling digs.)

More Bread, and Cake
Mom made six more loaves of bread this morning, for my Mary-land fambly.
and this is all that's left of the big cake she made yesterday.
Today we all went for Dim-Sum, but I didn't eat any of that.

My CatGal Pal Delilah
Delilah is the new cat in my Mary-land fambly. She is tiny and delicate and doesn't take any guff from anybody. We got along right away.
She is the real queen of the house.
Isn't she a cutie-pie?

The Squad is Coming
Yup. Mom called some guys called The Mosquito Squad and they are coming to spray our property with stuff to kill mosquitoes and ticks. Mom says I can't be out on the porch when they come, so I'm confined to the inside, but it's nice to know Mom won't have to worry about getting Lyme Disease again this year.
I'm fine, I just haven't been posing for pictures. Mom has been finishing up quilts and cleaning the house. And she has been reading. She just finished Before The Fall and now she is reading The Fireman. She loved Before The Fall but thinks The Fireman needed a good editor.

June 2 2016 Google Doodle
If you don't do anything else today, please do this. Go to Google, and watch today's Google Doodle animation. It celebrates Lotte Reiniger, a German filmmaker who pioneered silhouette films.
It is so totally cool and beautiful. After you're done watching (and if you're anything like Mom, wiping the tears out of your eyes...) then click the link that says "Watch how today's doodle was made."
If you miss this today, you can go to: http://www.google.com/doodles to see it. And depending on where you live, you might not see this one. Google has different doodles for different countries. For example, Mom and I did not see Suzanne Leglen's doodle on May 24 because we do not live in France.
