Freaky Friday!!

You are not going to believe this.

MOM went home to New Hampster.

And I stayed in sunny California to spend a week with Mrs P and her third grade students near Passa Dena.

Mrs P and me at Nick's in Manhattan Beach CA
Mrs P has been telling her students about me for years, so when she and Mom had dinner the other night with Mr Karate and Rubylocks, I thought it would be a good learning experience to spend a week with Mrs P and her third graders.

So here I am!

Lookit! I have a special bed at Mrs P's house, and I am sleeping under a Gizzy quilt that Mom made for Mrs P's cat Rusty. (Rusty is now at the Bridge.)

This is the quilt Mom made for Rusty, Mrs P's ginger boy. Can you find him?

I am sure we will all learn new things. Since Mom is going to be a Mim-may, I am going to have to get used to little sticky people. Mom says third graders aren't that little or sticky. Mrs P says her class has the highest math scores in the district. That sounds like a win-win proposition to me, so I'll be here for a few more days, and I'll fly home to New Hampster later.

And you know, I really like the SUNNY and WARM weather in California.

Heh!

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get some sleeps. These kids are furry bizzy and I can't take as many naps as usual when I am in class with them.

Mom went to a Quilt show...

And she forgot to take me. I could say I was annoyed but I was fine with it. I needed to catch up on my naps.

It is warm and sunny here in the city of Angels and I have been napping in the sun.

Mom got to see a quilt made by one of her quilt heroes, Molly Upton so she was happy.

I Went to Disneyland!

OMG!! Mr Karate and Rubylocks brought Mom and me to Disneyland!  It was PAWESOME!

It is a beautiful place.

Here we are in front of the statue of Mr Disney himself. We had loads of fun.

Here Mr Karate and I are trying to liberate the sword from the stone. I couldn't do it.

Mom and I loved "It's A Small World" most of all. The building was so pretty.

It was amazing. Mom was singing and smiling. I dunno when I ever saw her so silly.

Mr Karate and Rubylocks were pretty happy too!

Oh geez, I had so much fun. Here I am with a statue of Dumbo. I saw the Milennium Falcon,

Almost got eaten by a snake,

(That was not fun)

Watched THREE parades,

Met some really nice cast members (this is Justin who helped Mom buy this ...

Sweatshirt commemorating the 60th anniversary of Disneyland,

Went to see It's a small world (again!)

Had some really good food....

And watched some pretty freaking amazing fireworks.

Mom said it was the second best day ever. (Cause nothing can top yesterday.)

The Big Surprise!

I was gonna keep this trip to the City of Angels a secret until I got home, but Mr Karate & Rubylocks had a special something something to give Mom.

This is such big news I just had to spill the beans.

Boy you shoulda heard Mom squee!

I'm gonna be an Auntie Cat!

Truthful Thursday

This is Mom's newest Amaryllis. It is really pretty. You may not believe it but I have no interest in it at all.

Tuxie Tuesday

I'm getting ready for something kinda special. It's a secret, so I can't tell you much more about it right now, but I'll let you in on it when the time is right.

NH Primary Day

It snowed yesterday and last night. The result is a picture perfect day in New Hampster. Which is good, because there will be millions of pictures taken here today. It is the first in the nation primary here and Mom will be voting.

While I am not allowed to say for whom Mom will cast her vote, I can assure you she will NOT vote for the boorish, belligerent, bombastic bully.

Have a nice day, kitties. I shall spend it napping on one of my many favorite locations.

Millie Monday

We're supposed to have more snow today and tonight.

That's February for you.

Snowy

It snowed yesterday. We were only supposed to get a little bit, but we got about six inches of the heavy white stuff.

It sure is pretty.

This And That

Mom has got a lot of stuff up her sleeve. We are going to do a lot of traveling this year, to Mary-land, to Philly, and to the City of Angels. We're going to AQS shows in Syracuse and maybe Chattanooga. Mom's got a couple quilts in a very special exhibit at AQS Chattanooga (and also AQS Des Moines) this year, but that's all I can say right now. We might be going to Colorado too.

So Mom's been bizzy trying to get everything organized.

I'm fine. I've got lots of treats and plenty of cozy places to nap.

Millie Monday

Hey Mom, where did you go? I like it when you sit next to me and give me scritches. Find a movie or something for us to watch together... Hey, you haven't watched all that extra stuff on the Downton Abbey DVD... put that in and come back!

thanky you Mom!

What I Did Yesterday

This is the last scene from the final season of Downton Abbey. Yup!

One of Mom's coworkers got it this week and lent it to her. After Mom did her errands and put a big slab of BEEF in the crooked pot she put a dvd in the box and turned it on.

Nine hours later she had watched the whole thing (we started at episode five).

And now she knows the ending and she can't say anything to anybody!!!

Heh

Feline Friday

I love napping in this spot.

Mom likes it because she can take pictures of me here. It's hard for her when I decide to nap behind the couch.

Oh well.

Millie Monday

I have found a new place to nap.

It's this nice chair at the far end of the living room.

I was hoping to keep it secret from Mom.

(sigh)

Spiffy Sunday

Why this photo of my licking my mouth is so stupid looking I do not know.

Except that I'm watching my favoritest tennis player of all time, Roger Federer, win his match at the Australian Open.

AND, we did not get any snow! Woo Hoo!!!  It is so nice NOT to have to watch Mom worry about too much snow on the roof, shoveling the driveway or having to drive in the damn stuff.

I think I'm going to go have a nap.

Snow-less Saturday

Whenever you hear "snow" on the news, you think of me in New Hampster, getting dumped on with snow. Naturally I don't give a darn because I don't have to shovel the stuff or drive in it or any of those things. (Actually the smartest thing to do in a snowstorm is stay home.) And you often get to see a snow map of New England showing how much snow we're gonna get, and it's always taller than me.

Not this time.

This time we aren't getting any snow. Nope. None. Zero. Nada. Zilch.

Ha. Ha. Ha.

I'm going to enjoy this.

Tuxie Tuesday with Tongue

Geez Mom, today's blog post title sure does sound...

funny.

Millie Monday

I've been doing a lot of this lately.

Starting tonight Mom will be watching the tennis in Oz.

Mom finished the bird quilt, thank goodness.  Now I hope she won't "forget" to help me blog more often.

Millie Monday

Mom is still making those darn birds for her bird quilt, but she's almost finished, so I should be able to get back blogging more regularly.

In the meantime I get scritches whenever I can, even while Mom eats her dinner.

Thursday Truth

Lookit! Real live dead beef.  Proof positive (if I needed any) that my Mom loves me.

Wordy Wednesday

I'm fine. Mom's been bizzy making birds for a quilt. She's been going hog wild, making birds every night after day hunting. You can go over and see. Birds birds birds. It's pretty crazy.

The heating monster is fine. It's the oil tank that has problems. The heating monster v-e-t was over for a third time this past weekend and figured out the problem was water in the bottom of the tank. It would get in the pipe and freeze, so the heating monster starved.  We think it might be fixed now, but there may be some repairs in the future. So every night Mom comes home hoping the house is warm. So far so good, paws crossed.

We watched the Parade on New Year's Day. This was our favorite float. Mom likes dragons.

The weather finally got cold here in New Hampster. It is 12F (-11C) right now, and that's cold. We are supposed to have a couple of sunny days coming up with the temps above freezing. The nights will be very cold, but there is no "measureable" snow in the forecast. Works for us.

All the garden places are sending Mom catalogs. I think it's pretty funny, but I'm sure she'll be poring over them when she's done making birds. In the meantime the only green things growing here are her Amaryllis bulbs.  This one is just starting to open up.

I'll try to make sure Mom helps me blog more often than I have been lately.

Millie Monday

Mom got up Saturday and cleaned the whole house like a crazy lady. She literally dragged the rug sucking monster around Every Single Room. Then she washed the pillow in my tent.

So I had to find another place to nap.

Wasn't hard.
