What I Did Yesterday

This is the last scene from the final season of Downton Abbey. Yup!

One of Mom's coworkers got it this week and lent it to her. After Mom did her errands and put a big slab of BEEF in the crooked pot she put a dvd in the box and turned it on.

Nine hours later she had watched the whole thing (we started at episode five).

And now she knows the ending and she can't say anything to anybody!!!

Heh

Feline Friday

I love napping in this spot.

Mom likes it because she can take pictures of me here. It's hard for her when I decide to nap behind the couch.

Oh well.

Millie Monday

I have found a new place to nap.

It's this nice chair at the far end of the living room.

I was hoping to keep it secret from Mom.

(sigh)

Spiffy Sunday

Why this photo of my licking my mouth is so stupid looking I do not know.

Except that I'm watching my favoritest tennis player of all time, Roger Federer, win his match at the Australian Open.

AND, we did not get any snow! Woo Hoo!!!  It is so nice NOT to have to watch Mom worry about too much snow on the roof, shoveling the driveway or having to drive in the damn stuff.

I think I'm going to go have a nap.

Snow-less Saturday

Whenever you hear "snow" on the news, you think of me in New Hampster, getting dumped on with snow. Naturally I don't give a darn because I don't have to shovel the stuff or drive in it or any of those things. (Actually the smartest thing to do in a snowstorm is stay home.) And you often get to see a snow map of New England showing how much snow we're gonna get, and it's always taller than me.

Not this time.

This time we aren't getting any snow. Nope. None. Zero. Nada. Zilch.

Ha. Ha. Ha.

I'm going to enjoy this.

Tuxie Tuesday with Tongue

Geez Mom, today's blog post title sure does sound...

funny.

Millie Monday

I've been doing a lot of this lately.

Starting tonight Mom will be watching the tennis in Oz.

Mom finished the bird quilt, thank goodness.  Now I hope she won't "forget" to help me blog more often.

Millie Monday

Mom is still making those darn birds for her bird quilt, but she's almost finished, so I should be able to get back blogging more regularly.

In the meantime I get scritches whenever I can, even while Mom eats her dinner.

Thursday Truth

Lookit! Real live dead beef.  Proof positive (if I needed any) that my Mom loves me.

Wordy Wednesday

I'm fine. Mom's been bizzy making birds for a quilt. She's been going hog wild, making birds every night after day hunting. You can go over and see. Birds birds birds. It's pretty crazy.

The heating monster is fine. It's the oil tank that has problems. The heating monster v-e-t was over for a third time this past weekend and figured out the problem was water in the bottom of the tank. It would get in the pipe and freeze, so the heating monster starved.  We think it might be fixed now, but there may be some repairs in the future. So every night Mom comes home hoping the house is warm. So far so good, paws crossed.

We watched the Parade on New Year's Day. This was our favorite float. Mom likes dragons.

The weather finally got cold here in New Hampster. It is 12F (-11C) right now, and that's cold. We are supposed to have a couple of sunny days coming up with the temps above freezing. The nights will be very cold, but there is no "measureable" snow in the forecast. Works for us.

All the garden places are sending Mom catalogs. I think it's pretty funny, but I'm sure she'll be poring over them when she's done making birds. In the meantime the only green things growing here are her Amaryllis bulbs.  This one is just starting to open up.

I'll try to make sure Mom helps me blog more often than I have been lately.

Millie Monday

Mom got up Saturday and cleaned the whole house like a crazy lady. She literally dragged the rug sucking monster around Every Single Room. Then she washed the pillow in my tent.

So I had to find another place to nap.

Wasn't hard.

Washing Wednesday

Although it is already New Year's in New Zealand where my best bud Poppy Q lives, we have to wait several hours for it to get here. So I am getting ready.

The heating monster decided to act up the day before yesterday so the heating monster v-e-t came over and did some stuff. But it stopped yesterday after Mom left to go day hunting, so when Mom got home it was 57F inside the house, which is kinda chilly. The heating monster v-e-t came back and replaced some parts and it has been working much better. i hope it keeps working. I know I have a heated cat cup, but sometimes I just don't want to get in it. And Mom doesn't really like walking around the house with her winter coat on.

Happy New Year!

First Snow

It snowed overnight. It is supposed to turn to freezing rain and then to all rain later today. Driving will be messy. Mom has some extra vacation time so she took today off. She is making vegetable stock (yech) and is also cooking some garbanzo beans (double yech).

I shall nap in my kitty condo in the studio and oversee pretty much everything.

Christmas Wrap Up

This is what it looked like Christmas morning here in New Hampster. No snow or rain anywhere.

As you can see, it was 44F in the morning, while Mom was making this:

Yup, Mom made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. It was very good and everybody loved it. They also had garlic bread and Caesar salad. There was cake for dessert. Everybody, including me, had a great time.

By the time dinner was over, it was 77F inside the house, 55F out and Mom opened the door to the front porch to cool the house down.

Guess who went out there?

Merry Christmas

Mom and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

I'm waiting for the big guy in the red suit...

In the meantime, you should get a cup of whatever you like to drink, and read this post from way back in 2006 about Mom and a little bit of Christmas fun.
Click here to be taken to the story.

Tuxie Tuesday

Yes, I like to lie on the table next to Mom when she works on the computer. It's where I get some of the best scritches.

Millie Monday

I love my tent. It's where I spend most of the daytime. Can you believe the sun shines right in for most of the day? So it's toasty warm.

Only a few more days until Christymas. Mom's got all her preparations done. Everything is wrapped or mailed. Now we are just enjoying the days until the Big One. The other thing Mom likes is that the days will get longer. Woo hoo!

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Yup, it doesn't get any easier (or sweeter) than this. Napping at the very top of my kitty condo, in the sun.
