Hey gang, I need you.
Gizzy has been feeling poorly lately. Mom noticed he wasn't eating all his crunchies every day. When she got back from Texcats she noticed he was kinda clingy and grouchy to me all the time. He always sits right next to her after dinner while she works on the silver lapbox. She was petting him a couple of nights ago and something rattled her brain and suddenly she picked him up. As soon as she did, she knew.
Gizzy, last July before I came to live here, weighed 15.3 pounds. When she weighed him two nights ago he was 11-1/2! That's an enormous loss of 3.8 pounds - drastic for a cat.
Mom says Gizzy doesn't seem to be in pain, and he can move pretty much anywhere he wants to go. He still greets her at the door every night, and he's keeping up with his grooming -- all good signs.
Mom called the vet's office. They want him to have stinky goodness, and they want her to make sure he is drinking water. She can add water to his stinky goodness to make sure he gets more. It could be his teeth really hurt. And of course they want her to "keep an eye on him." Well, that's like the ATM machine reminding you to take your cash. Like, Duh!
So we'd really appreciate it if you all could send some positive energy toward Gizzy here in cold New Hampster.

Thursday Thirteen and Alphabet Meme "C"
I was intrigued by Zeus' idea of a meme based on a letter of the alphabet. He selected the letter "C" for me. "C" as in celebrity. So I had to think real hard about 10 things I like that start with the letter "C."
1. Cheese!
2. Chicken
3. Climbing up on stuff
4. Comfort
5. Christymas
6. Computers
7. Catnaps
8. Catnip!
9. my Cat Cube from Mrs B and Bubbles
10. Crinkly balls
To make this a Thursday Thirteen, here are three things that start with the letter "C" that describe me...
1. Creative
2. Cute (I had cunning, but Daisy suggested this. )
3. Charming
~~ Mom says she wouldn't have any trouble thinking of thirteen things she likes that start with the letter "C," and she'd probably start the list with... Chocolate! But HA HA! This is my blog!

Valentine!
Jasmine has a Valentine!
She and Cocoa Puff, one of the Feline Americans, are Valentines! I am happy for her. She deserves somebody who thinks she's pretty cool. Hmm. Cocoa Puff was one of my Secret Paws, and I know they live in San Diego Catifornia, which is three thousand (squillion?) miles away. Guess they'll have to teleport to visit each other. That ought to be funny, because the two of them are "full figured."
...oh oh. Wait a minute.
Mom says I can't make fun of Jasmine and Cocoa Puff because of their size. In fact, she says I can't make fun of anybody ever.
I am sorry Cocoa Puff and Jasmine. You two have a nice Valentine's together. Cocoa Puff, Jasmine likes tuna and milk.
Now Gizzy... He hasn't got a Valentine and I can't understand that AT ALL! I mean, he is so cool, so friendly, so charming, so handsome! There has to be some lovely cat who'll be willing to be Valentines with such a gentle soul. He doesn't need a young frisky cat like me (I mean, he already HAS me and I annoy him sometimes...)
So I am asking all my friends in the Cat Blogosphere, we gotta find Gizzy somebody. Please help me find the wonderful Mr Gizzy a Valentine!
I'll be so grateful!
UPDATE!
Willow has agreed to be Gizzy's Valentine!
Oh I am so happy.

Wacky!
Jasmine here ~
Here's a picture of little wacky Millie girl, fooling around with Mom. I don't think I was ever quite so wacky.
I am so flattered by all your lovely comments from yesterday's post. Yes, I am quite the girly girl, or rather I used to be. My goodness, it's so fun to see all the comments from the man-cats interested in a girly-cat of a particular age as a potential Valentine. Mom had a hard day yesterday, so I'll wait till she's a bit rested before we go Valentine shopping. Though I can tell you I am very interested. And, truth be told, I think Gizzy is also quite flattered by the attention from the ladies. Yes, he'd love a companion who's as mellow as he is. Millie's been on his last nerve lately and I know he'd like to keep company with someone more soothing.

Six Month Gotcha-versary
Wow!
I've been here six months now, and I've lived here longer than I've lived anywhere else. I've got a Mom who loves me and two big cats to show me things and let me know I'm not Top Cat. But that's OK. I can run faster than they can, and I can jump up on things they can't.
I have a squillion friends all over the world. I've learned to play with Mom and let her pet me. I'm letting her get closer and closer, and the other day when Mom was sitting on the couch, I went over and lay down at the other end. Another time I was lying on the floor in front of the entrance to the bathroom, and I didn't even move when she stepped over me!
I welcome her back from her day hunting job, and I follow her around while she puts her stuff away. I let her know just where I want to be petted and rubbed, and she does just what I want. Lately I have been sitting on the back of her chair while she works on the silver lapbox. When she turns to look at me, I don't run away. Maybe someday I'll sit next to her. We'll see. I know better than to say I'll never do that, because once I said I'd never let her pet me, and you all know how that turned out.
I've had my ladygardenectomy, and I'm a lot more relaxed than before. Of course, I still pester Gizzy, and I still make Jasmine a bit crazy, but heck, I'm still a little kitty -- I'm not even full grown.
Mom says this is the last Gotcha-versary day I can celebrate until my One-Year Gotcha-versary, and after that I can only celebrate once a year. I wonder if she has any nice roast beast for me? And Temptations? And Cheese? Or maybe I will get some nice Beef Stinky Goodness. That's what I want. Some nice Beef Stinky Goodness.
Oh...
Mom says I have to say "Thank you" to all the Poodins and their Beans who contributed to help get me off the street and into a wonderful forever home. This one is practically Purr-fect!

Super Sunday
Mom, Gizzy, Jasmine and I just aren't feeling the love on this Super Bowl Sunday since our pals, the guys named Pat, aren't in the Big Game. We'll watch, of course, but we have decided to root for Da Bears.I might just teleport over to my friend Persephone's house so we can play together.
Mom's got chili (the hot kind, not the cold kind) bubbling away in the pot called Crock in the kitchen. Earlier she was cutting up real live dead chicken and she gave all us cats nice raw pieces.

Now THIS is Snow!
A little snow
Update! It's about lunchtime now, and these are a couple of pictures Mom took of our neighborhood. She really likes that after a snowstorm the sky is blue and the sun is bright. It is a bit windy, so the wind blew the snow off the branches and the wires, so it doesn't look quite as pretty, but Mom says it's a really nice day.

Midnight!
It's snowing. I can't show you pictures because it is dark out, but it's really pretty. Mom says we have about three inches, which means if I were standing in it, it would almost reach my tummy. Eew! I don't think I'd like that.
Anyway, it's supposed to be REALLY COLD over the next few days, and the weather guys think it might go down to -3F (-17C) on Wednesday. This means the snow will be around for a few days, so I can show you some pictures.

National Wear Red Day 2007

This year, more women will die of heart disease than men. So I am taking a break from Friday's usual memes to alert all women to protect their hearts. National Wear Red Day is a simple way to support the fight against heart disease and stroke.
This is a cause quite literally close to Mom's heart (pun most emphatically intended) because her Mom has heart disease.
So ladies, gentlemen, cats, wear RED today. National Wear Red Day has its own dress code. Wear your favorite red clothes or accessory—a red blouse, a red dress pin, a fabulous red handbag —put on red lipstick, or sport a red tie and red socks. Go red in your own fashion to show your support for women and the fight against heart disease.
Thank you.

Not Wordless Wednesday
What do they mean I have to be wordless on Wednesday? That's just not possible. I have lotsa things to say. I have learned how to jump up high and land on things very quietly and delicately. (Of course Mom says I can also run around like a herd of elephants.) Here I am sitting on top of the picture box with this little Schwag-y penguin. As you can see we are both perfectly dressed Tuxedos. Except I don't have red lettering across my belly. Good thing.Mom refilled my favorite mousie with Cosmic Catnip so I've been batting it all over the place, and running around with it in my mouth. It's been great fun.
Gizzy isn't interested in playing. Dunno why. Mom's a bit concerned about the big cats, as they have been leaving crunchies in their bowls at mealtimes. Usually they eat more when they are cold, and leave food when the weather is warmer. Somecat's been blowing chunks. And one of them has dingleberries. Mom's keeping an eye on them.
Since we got the funny blue light, and cleaned the stinky places, there hasn't been any more stinky, and Mom's happy about that. But she's kinda blue since she got back from Texcats. She's tired, and the house needs a lot of cleaning, and there's a lot for her to do at her day hunting place. Plus she says after something exciting the the trip to Texcats, there's always a letdown. So I'm trying to cheer her up.
She usually gets up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I follow her, and then make myself comfortable on her bed next to Gizzy, who sleeps with her at night. So she's been waking up to both us cats nearby every morning, and I think that pleases her. Of course, I'm not gonna let her get a picture of it, so you are all just gonna have to use your imaginations.

A Three-Cat Household
Mom says we're not getting another kitten; that we're going to stay a three cat household. She says she hasn't got enough hands, or laps, or time to make four cats feel special and loved. And she thinks a fourth cat would make Jasmine go ballistic. Grouchy though I think Jasmine is, Mom loves her very much.
Mom went to Petco over the weekend and bought some anti-stinky stuff. She also got a black light. It was funny to watch her use it. When night time came, she turned out all the lights then went around on all fours with this funny blueish light. The stinky showed up as an icky green, and she found it in places she didn't expect. Her nose was wrong! (Gee, there's a big surprise) I will spare you a list of the places she found it, but she used up all the anti-stinky stuff and needs to buy more. That's another (big) reason we are staying a three-cat home.

A Playmate?

Mr Karate was here last night having dinner with Mom; they were watching me run around and try to play with Gizzy. Of course that never works because Gizzy is such an old fogey.
"Millie needs someone to play with."
"Yeah, but that means I'd have to get another cat."
So, what do you all think? Do you think we should get me another kitten so I could have a playmate?

Cold Saturday
Mom's tired, and trying to clean up around here. She brought a big load of laundry downstairs to the washing monsters and that means there's gonna be some nice warm places to nap later! Tomorrow she says she's gonna go see the Queen. Yeah, right.

Formerly Feral Friendly Family Friday

She's Home! She's Home! She's Home! She's Home! She's Home! She's Home!
I'm glad she's home. She brought me a bed. Lookit! Isn't it silly? It's kinda like a mouse. She got it at IKEA when she was in Texcats. She wanted to buy me one of these, like Dragonheart has, but she said it wouldn't fit in her suitcase. It was bad enough that she really had to squash everything to get this silly mouse bed in the suitcase.
Mom Lady's Mom thinks Gizzy is deaf. She said she would come in to feed us, and Gizzy wouldn't greet her at the door. (I did.) MLM said she would go find Gizzy, and call to him, but he wouldn't move. Then we she touched him, he jerked awake. Mom Lady says when she calls Gizzy he turns toward her, so she doesn't think Gizzy is deaf. But he could be hard of hearing.
Oh, about PINK and Mom: She has dark hair and more of a dark or olive complexion. She looks best in RED, but very good in PINK. You'll never see her wearing BROWN.
And Mom Lady caught Jasmine marking! She's got some anti-stinky stuff, but she's gonna hafta get more.
I'm glad Mom Lady's home, because now I can have more time to post on all the blogs. Now I can catch up. Tomorrow I will tell you about another present she got me!

Thursday Thirteen
Lady Mom is on her way home from Texas today, so I can have a little fun. Ha ha ha! This blog is about HER!
Lady Mom says that RED is her favorite color. But she has lotsa PINK stuff. What do you think? Let's see how many PINK things she has...
1. She has this PINK pillow on her bed.
2. She keeps things in this PINK basket on top of the cold box. (Oh, look there's a picture of Mr Karate holding Gizzy...)
3. She wears these PINK gloves when she makes bubbles in the sink.
4. She painted this little cabinet PINK and red and purple and black.
5. She just got this PINK vest that keeps her nice and warm.
6. She made this PINK chessboard for herself.
7. LOOK! Even her brush and comb are PINK.
8. She likes this PINK shirt.
9. She painted this PINK desk in her sleeping room.
10. Lookit the PINK jackets she has!
11. She wears this PINK hat when she goes out walking in the summer.
12. This is her very warm puffy PINK coat she wears when it is really cold outside
13. She has this PINK scarf and PINK hat to wear with the puffy PINK coat. She has matching PINK gloves.

Gizzy says she has PINK unmentionables, (but I'm not supposed to say anything about those) and she has a PINK toothbrush, and lotsa PINK pillows in the picture box room and big painting of a PINK flower, a nice warm fuzzy PINK sweater and a PINK purse... but that's more than 13 and Gizzy says I gotta stop.
