Mamma's Got a Brand New Bag

I'm tellin' ya, she's nuts. She made -another- backpack for the trip to Mary-land.

Why? She made a list of all the things she wanted to put in it, and they wouldn't fit in the first one she made, so she made a -bigger- one. So here it is: Mom made it a lot deeper, made the straps adjustable, and padded the back. Here's the pocket for the water bottle:Here's the inside, full of the stuff she "needs," like a pillow and a blanket (she says it's in case she wants to take a nap on the train), a big pocket for her magazines and books, a hook for her earbuds and a special pocket for the tickets. She even added a something she calls a key fob. She's also got her little camera and a pair of binoculars in there, but you can't see them.
And there's a special pocket... WAIT A MINUTE! WHO'S THIS GUY? What's he doing in that pocket?

La Backpack

Mom's backpack is finished. Here it is. At first she wasn't quite sure she liked this fabric, but when the pack was almost finished, she knew it was gonna look really great, and now she loves the fabric.
Mom placed the big back pocket "just so" on the fabric, so this "But Why?" eye is centered.
When she made this pocket for the water bottle, she felt the elastic was kinda useless, because her water bottle kept falling out. Wrong! So Mom tightened it up a bit.
Mom has a special case for her iPod, and the iPod in the case wouldn't fit in the pocket the way it was designed, so she fixed it. And yes, she placed that lady's body very precisely on the pocket, and the word "Stop" -- yup that was planned too!
Mom doesn't like the way the earbud cord from the iPod keeps getting caught on stuff. So she added this little loop here for it.
And of course, you have all seen the lining fabric. Doesn't it look great! Everybody who has seen the backpack just loves this lining! Me too!

Mom wants to make some little additions, too, when she makes the next one. She wants to add a little pocket for some money, and one for her ID.

Mim-may has already asked where hers is!

Rocky, nope, Mom is not gonna make these to sell. She says they take too long to make and are too fussy.

Actually, Mom hasn't done anything except sleep, eat and go to her day hunting gig since she started making this. She's got a kitchen full of dirty dishes that she has to do! So before she does any sewing, she's got to do some cleaning up around here.

And there's a little tuxie kitty that wants some ATTENTION!
