Friendly Friday

One of Mom's fellow day-hunters will be implementing the M-word, and Mom offered to give her some of the giant plastic bins left over from our move last year. Mom didn't need them and was more than happy to give them to somebody who would use them.

Mom was very touched when this thank-you card and gift was left on her desk a few days later.

Isn't is CUTE? Isn't it ADORABLE! It almost looks like ME!

It is a holder for Mom's iPhone. Mom LOVES it and thinks it is very cool.

Fantastic Friday!

The magic of The Purrs worked!  Mom is better!  Whee!!!!!

Wait a minute, that means she's going back to day hunting and I won't be able to nap in her lap all day.

Hmm....

That's OK, I'll just get her when she gets home later.

Hip, Hip, Hoo-ray! Pip-pay is OK!

Hip, hip... Mom sure is funny! Pip-pay's doctors said the surjery would take an hour and a half, if everything went well, and they were exactly right. An hour and a half after he went in, he had his new bionic hip and he was on his way to the recovery room. Everything went according to plan, and Pip-pay's heart was A-O-K during the whole thing. The doctors told Mim-may and Mom to go home and come visit tomorrow, that Pip-pay would be too sleepy to even know they were there.

WELL! Mom brought Mim-may home, and was making dinner when the phone rang, and it was Pip-pay! He said he wasn't feeling any pain at all! He sounded great!

If his bionic hip continues to heal the way it should, he will be moved to a rehab facility on Wednesday or Thursday, and should be home with Mim-may and Missy in time for Turkey Day next week!

I want to thank every cat, kit, woofie, bun & bean who found time to send a purr or prayer in Pip-pay's direction. To all the cats who were kind enough to teleport over and purr with me during the day, you have my most profound thanks.

Thank You!

You all know that Jasmine didn't like me much. But I liked her. Sure, I teased her sometimes, but that's what sisters do. She was my big sis, and she didn't take any guff from anybody. She was a Champion cricket hunter, she was regal, and she could be very stealthy and sneaky. She was the very definition of aloof. In short, she was a terrific cat.

I confess I didn't treat her as well as I should have in this blog, but you all saw through my kittenishness to the wonderful cat she really was. Once again, the thoughtful, caring and compassionate cats in the blogosphere have blown us away. Over a hundred comments, more than a dozen tributes (see the sidebar at left), and several private emails expressing their condolences have poured in, overwhelming Mom and I.

Mom brought me into this family a little over a year ago because she thought that Jasmine was sick, and would be going to the Bridge. She turned out not to be sick, and we were all stunned when it was Gizzy who went to the Bridge first. Now Jasmine has followed him, and while we know they are together, and happy, Mom cannot but think of how terribly sad (and lonely) she would be if she had not adopted me.

Mom's eyes were leaking often over the weekend, as she read the comments and the wonderful poems of condolences in the special tributes to Jasmine. I've been making sure she pets me, because I know that makes her feel better.

The picture below, of Jasmine on Mom's lap, was taken over 4 years ago, when Jasmine was about 10 years old. it's one of Mom's favorites of Jasmine. As you can see, Jasmine was as watchful and wary as ever. Mom was convinced Jasmine could read her mind.

Jasmine, we loved you!

Cats of the Blogosphere, we love you! Thank you!

Nip Ravioli

Everybody who writes Mom about the Holiday Gizzys mentions how much their cats love the Nip Ravioli that came packed with the quilt.

Mom Robyn from Hot(M)BC made them with the leftover pieces of the quilts. Yep, Mom packaged her leftover bits and sent them down to Virginger after Mom Robyn asked for them, offering to make little nip sachets filled with her super duper catnip to go with the quilts. Then Robyn made 20 Nip Raviolis and sent them back to New Hampster so Mom could include one with each Holiday Gizzy Quilt.

Robyn was thoughtful enough to include some nip for me. Mom made a Nip Ravioli for me out of some nice Red fabric she had. As you can see, I think mine is pretty wonderful.

Thanks Mom Robyn!

If you got a Holiday Gizzy Quilt, go on over to Hot(M)BC and say thanks to Robyn!

And go visit Lisa here and you can watch a video of her cats and their quilts and their Nip Ravioli!
