
He was the resident Cat. His job was to make the summit feel like home for the beans who worked up there. You can see pictures here. He also chased mice.
Yesterday, Nin retired. He's a geezer cat, over 17 years old. He is retiring so he'll be closer to the v-e-t in case of emergencies. See, in the winter, you can't get up and down to the summit whenever you want. You can read all about Nin's retirement here.
The staff at the Mount Washington Observatory are working with a local shelter to find a replacement for Nin. One of the requirements is the good sense to come inside out of the snow.
I hope Nin has as great a life as a retired cat as he did working up at the summit of Mount Washington. I'm sure we'll hear when a new cat takes over.
