Mrs Big got her Black Belt in Kenpo Karate in a ceremony Friday night. The Black Belt Candidates wear a half white, half black belt during the last part of their training to remind them of all the things they learned since they started training. Mrs Big trained for four years to reach Black Belt. Once they get their Black Belt, they sign the white part of the Candidate belt. Mrs Big got to wear the same belt Mr Karate wore when he was a Candidate. Here she is with Mr Karate and their Candidate Belt.
And here she is with a GIGANTIC happy smile after the ceremony ended, wearing her Black Belt and holding some beautiful roses that Mom got her:
Here Mrs Big signs the Candidate belt with her name & the date she was awarded her Black Belt.
Mr Karate had a very special present. He told her to remove the belt she had just been awarded, and gave her the first Black Belt he got. (If you look back at the top picture, you will see that Mr Karate's belt has two red stripes. This indicates he is a Second Degree Black Belt. He is currently working toward his Third Degree Black Belt, which will take him another year.)
This was very emotional for Mrs Big. She was very very happy with this special gift. Her eyes leaked a lot.

(Mrs Big started training for Karate just before she turned 41. She will be 45 later this month. It just goes to show getting older doesn't mean it's too late to try something new.)
