The Vet Visit

Hi guys. Mom brought me to the v-e-t on Saturday. I'm now 15-1/2 years old, so the vet did the "Senior Wellness Test" which means they stole some of my blood to see how my insides are working. I've lost a lot of weight - now I weigh a bit more than ten pounds. My heart is murmuring, and I have a swollen teat. I spend a lot of time napping and getting scritches from Mom.

Let's face it, I'm a senior cat, and although I'm not running toward the Rainbow Bridge, I'm kinda waltzing in that direction. How long it will take me to get there is anybody's guess.

We'll hear the results of the blood tests in a few days, and then Mom and I will have more information, but nothing is going to change the fact that I ain't getting any younger.

Hey, don't feel sorry for me. I've had a heck of a great life. I should have died when I was 12 weeks old and got hitted by a car. But I got saved by Malcolm, and then I pretty much won the lottery when Mom adopted me. It's been quite a story and I'm not done yet. Hug, rub against, purr for and get scritches from those who love you. Nothing lasts forever, and love really is all we need.

Hi Millie! Nice to see you!
Yup, getting older is not fun.
However, mum's sister has a cat, Mindy, who is 20!
She sleeps a lot but still manages to get around.
Purrs you have more good years ahead Millie!!
Purrs, Julie

Millie - it's distressing to hear that you're starting to experience some of the health issues associated with older age. Rats! I hope that the blood tests indicate something very treatable. Please keep us informed.

I've followed you since Malcolm found you and since your Mom got you. I still have all three of my kitties' Gizzy quilts back when Gizzy put his approval on them, even though all three have since passed over that bridge. Thoughts and purrrrrs coming your way.

Hi Millie - I'm 15 too and had the senior visit too. Like you I'm slowing down too but still enjoying my quiet life. You are very dear to us, and we are sending you and your mom our love.

Millie I have followed you since the begging. All your adventures (traveling with Mom, the first time you got on her lap...). Well I think I have something in my eye so I'll just say that your Mom is the best and I feel that love will get you through each and everyday. Oh! Jake just reminded me to tell you he is sending purrs and head bumps.

Have a wonder holiday Millie and Mom,
Susan and Jake

Hi Millie. I’m sorry you’re having some health issues now. I’m 16 now myself so I know it’s tough getting old. Sending you many purrs. ~Ernie

It was wonderful ta see you post again! We miss you.

Yeah gettin older is annoyin sometimes. I Ayla am 14.5 now. Cant quite jump like I used to. But I'm stilled loved. TBT gives me special attention. Brings my food bowl wherever I feel like eating, talks to me whenever I am not unner the bed, gives me great scritchies. Sometimes just sits on the bed while I sit on his lap. THat still makes me purr.

I'm sending purrs your way, Millie, in hopes that the rest of your senior years are spent in comfort, as it was for Binga and Boodie's elder years.

We're not getting any younger, either, and I've enjoyed watching you all these years. Don't be in a hurry to run to that bridge, please!
