It's raining today, and might be a bit windy. Maybe the wind will knock off all the last leafs. Several of Mom's friends and fambly members who were visiting over the Turkey Day Holiday said Mom should just "call it" and decide the contest was over. Mom and I feel that Fair is Fair, so we will continue the contest until the last leaf really does fall or until December 16.

Some of you might remember this picture of me, taken three years ago. I was trying to tell Mom that I was NOT interested in "this petting business." (I was such a young, innocent little kit.)
Mom got home last night and as soon as I finished eating I let her know in No Uncertain Terms that I felt neglected, and that she had to SIT so I could get the cuddles, scritches and attention I have been missing these last few days.
She SAT.
I climbed in next to her, and got my scritches. Woo hoo!
In fact, she SAT for most of the evening. Several hours, in fact. She read a book, and only got up to have some spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. (Of course I got some.)

You were so tiny and scared back then. You have come a long way, baby, and we are all proud of you and happy for your Mom.

Thomas has been demanding a lot of attention lately. I could spend hours just stitting with a cat, it is the most wonderful feeling.
Oh Mille... Katie needs to take lessons from you. When she was a little kitten, she couldn't cuddle enough. She was all over me! (I loved it) Then she grew up and became a teenager. Now I can't even bribe her to cuddle with me. She only cuddles on HER terms. ; )

I remember when you were so tiny and scared. We're so glad you can appreciate snuggles and petting. It is the stuff life it made of. If everyone snuggled their furries and each other, we'd all be happier.
I am very impressed your mommy realized you needed a good night of mommy time. Great job Millie!
Sumtimes Moms need extra encurrage mints to amember their jobs. Mom an I red last nite until Dad turned on TV, then she maded a lap fur me until dinner. Life is good.
We amember when yoo din't like skritches and din't call da mom "mom". Seems like a longtime ago.
Your were sure a cutie in that first photo. We love our scritches behind our ears, oh just to think of it sends us into anticipation for the next scritch session.

Oh, Millie, you were a pretty little baby! Now you are all grown up and beautiful.
Love and scritches are important - it's one way our humans tell us they love us. I'm glad you enjoy them now.
What was Mom reading?
Man, that tree is stubborn!!!

Millie - it's wonderful that you are able to relax and enjoy cuddles with your mom. It is just one of the very best things for a bean to do - cuddle their cat.

Millie I remember when I first found your blog reading about all your early days. It is amazing how much you have come out of your shell since then - that is a wonderful reflection on your mom (and you too of course). We are so happy you became such a brave girl!
And I think it is great your mom is sticking it out with the tree contest - she is right that it is only fair.
Sounds like a purrfect evening for you two ladies.
We remember how you used to hide under the dresser too! Poor scared little kit! You have blossomed there with Mom & Mr. Karate to love you.
You've come a long way Millie. Now you really loves your mum, you demand attention and get it.
So, MIllie, what happens if the leaves fall AFTER the 16th?
I remember when you didn't want scritches or to sit in anyone's lap. You have certainly grown to love them now. It's wonderful that your Mom gave you all the attention that you were craving.
