It's my Gotcha-Day!

It's my One-Year Gotcha-Day Anniversary! I am so happy I found a forever home. You all know the story of my early life. Many of you helped Malcolm with the green papers to pay for the v-e-t to fix my badly broken leg and save my life. Mom did too, but she never expected I would become her kitty.

Mom says the world changes every day, and her life sure did change the day she got me. Here I am, in a lovely photo taken by my foster dad Dan Rauci, the day I went to live with Mom back in August 2006.

By September, I had made friends with Gizzy. I thought he was wonderful, and he made me feel welcome and loved. I liked getting attention from Gizzy.

Here I am in October. You probably recognize this photo from my profile.

This is one of Mom's favorite pictures of me, taken in November 2006. I couldn't believe Gizzy actually -asked- to be petted. I would let Mom get sorta close, but not really close. And I let her pet me a very little bit, but not much. I didn't think I'd ever -ask- to be petted.

In December, the Christymas tree went up. I loved the Christymas tree, and had lots of fun climbing the tree and playing with the decorations. For some reason, this did not please Mom and I got into trouble. I can't wait for the Christymas tree to go up again this year!

In January I had my ladygardenectomy operation. And I started showing off my tummy!

In February, we found out Gizzy was sick, and Mom started making quilts to pay the v-e-t. Mom has been Bizzy for Gizzy ever since.

Here I am in March, watching over Gizzy. I tried to make sure he got a lot of loving.

April was hard. I had my birthday, but then two weeks later, Gizzy went to the Rainbow Bridge. The words of comfort from all our friends in the Cat Blogosphere really helped us all.

In May, Mom caught me washing my tail. I just don't understand what's so funny about this photo.

In June, I -finally- got my own Gizzy quilt.

Here I am in July, relaxing in the cat hammock, enjoying the warm weather and the fresh air. I let Mom -see- my tummy, but nobody gets to -touch- my tummy.

OK! OK! I ask to be petted now. I like it. I just don't let Mom get carried away with it. I keep an eye on her the whole time. I don't let her pick me up or trim my claws either. When I was a younger kitty I would have said I 'd never let her do those things to me; but I never thought I would come when she called my name, and I never thought I'd beg ask to be petted either.

Besides, I have to give you all something to look forward to!

I'm really happy here in my forever home with Mom and Jasmine (well, sorta with Jasmine), and I am very happy I made friends with cats from the blogosphere. Thank you everybody!

Happy Gotcha Day, Millie! :) I am so happy that you were rescued and found a wonderful Forever Home. :) It is great that you and Gizzy were friends, and very sad that he went to the Bridge.

I think it is wonderful that you ask to be petted now. :) Your mom obviously had a lot of patience with you, and you learned to love and trust her. :)

You are a good friend, Millie, and I'm glad to have met you!

Hi Millie,

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I always enjoy reading your blog.

I'm glad you ask your Lady Mom to pet you now. Someday you will find that hugs and cuddles from her are nice too. I always enjoy being held, but then after a minute or so I am ready to get back down.

Hello Millie,

I don't read the blogs as regularly as Frostin, but I enjoy yours because both you and Jasmine remind me of myself in some ways. Like you I am a free spirit and I like being able to do things my own way, like not going into the computer room for treats like the rest of the cats here. But I also have a bit of Jasmine in me in that I am an older kitty and I do not always want to play with the others, though I do get into playful moods on ocassion. I like keeping them on their toes.

Happy Gotcha Day, Millie!
I had never even read a blog until lsst summer when I happened onto Malcom's site and his story of finding you and raising money for your vet care. Since then, I've followed your story every day, and have laughed and cried with you. Through you, I've found many entertaining blogging cats to keep up with. One of these days, our 4 FurryPurries will have to get their own blog! Thanks, Millie, for sharing your precious life with all of us!

Wow, you sure has grown and changed alot since you came to live with your momma. Our momma says she has followed your family's story since she heard about you. She too was sad to hear about Gizzy and was happy to hear about you letting your momma pet you. So much can change in what seems like only a few short moments...but is really an entire lifetime. :)
