The Sixth When When Contest is officially ON. Now we are waiting to see when the snow will be ALL GONE.
The first When When Contest was held in 2008. Since then the contest has been held five times. Two years, 2010 and 2012, we did not have enough snow to run the contest. Here are the winning dates for the years that the contest did run.
2008 - April 12
2009 - April 3
2011 - April 11
2013 - April 9
2014 - April 11
Three of these dates have not been selected by anybuddy.
If you selected one of these days, it doesn't mean anything. The snow will melt whenever it melts and there's no way to figure out when that will happen. Last year the contest ended on April 11. Five days later, on April 16, it snowed.
Mom says if SHE had entered the contest every year, she would have lost every year, so it's gonna be interesting.
Stay tuned, folks. Here's what it looks like outside this morning.
The earliest guess for this year's When When Contest was March 23. We've got a little over two weeks until then.
I'll be watching.

We guessed dates a little later in April.
We purr, however, that the snow goes before then!
We purr our snow goes before then too!

I am sure it won't melt before April. But I think I should have guessed even later than the 16th
Ah, but the thing is Millie, that this year the When When Contest has moved to a new venue. While results from previous contests are interesting, they don't necessarily say anything about when the snow melted at this locale - only when it melted at your old home. Perhaps you could ask your mom to do a 'drive by' in front of your old home in mid-April to let us know what the snow melt is looking like there? LOL

I know I guess in April. BUT this is the first year at this spot, so all previous years stuff isn't totally valid. That was a super shady spot you used to use.
Will be interesting to see what happens.
Millie, we think you are gonna be lookin at snow out that window fer a lot of weeks...
I guess my May guess is a bit way out - but having never lived with snow, I really wouldn't have much idea.
