Dear Samantha, Thank you for entering the When When Contest. As you can see, however, there is lots of snow on the ground today. I am sorry, but you have not won the When When Contest. Please try again next year.
It has been a lot colder than normal. The average low temperature for March is 22-24F. This morning it is 14F. See how tightly the leaves of the bush outside are rolled up? They do that when they are cold. Compare them to this day to see when they are warmer.
See, I watch these things.

There may still be lots of snow, but there is less than we would have expected after so MUCH fell this season!
Nothing goes unnoticed on your watch Millie. Samantha was very optimistic when she guess all the snow would be melted by today. Unfortunately, the cold temps let the snow stick around. The snow closest to the frozen ground is likely to take the longest to disappear completely. Keep up the good watch Millie.

Just as well you're on the case, Millie. May 1 remains a good date!
