She actually sliced a piece of skin and fingernail off. (She didn't go all the way through the skin, but she came close.)
It bled so bad she had to go to the Urgent Bean V-E-T. After tying up her finger to stop the bleeding, the doc put some fake skin stuff on the cut and then wrapped it up. Mom cannot get it wet for two days, and has to go back to get the bandage changed on Thursday. After that she has to keep it dry for a week.
Mom spent the time waiting thinking about all the things she wouldn't be able to do, like wash her hair or tie her shoes. Or fasten the b-r-a thing she wears. Or wash the dishes.
For me, though, it's not too bad. It means she has to sit down a lot. I will get lots of scritches.

TBT once tried ta cut a finger off taking down a tree and hadda drive himself to a hospital bleeding all the way. NOT GOOD!'

Dearie, dearie, dearie Millie. I think you need to snoopervise your mom's activities more closely. A visit to the Urgent Bean V-E-T is no good at all. Give her lots and lots of cuddles and purrs, won't you?

Ouch - that must be very sore for your Mom Millie but we hope she can do one handed scritches to repay you for doing her washing up.

Hope you get lots of scritches. Your mum will need to use paper plates and such that she can just toss.
Maybe she needs to get some big rubber gloves to wear over her finger.
