Memorial Day Monday
Mr Karate's dadbean served in Viet Nam, so we are very aware of the sacrifices our Military Men and Women make on our behalf.
Yes, Poppy Q, we did watch Scott Dixon win the Indy 500! You Kiwis must be celebrating big time!
Mom spread the dirt around in pots yesterday, and stuck lots of stoopid green leafy plants in them. Here's a picture of some of them. Fiona bun knows what this stuff is (that is, if she's still conscious), but I'm pretty sure it's Dill, Marjoram, Sage, Purple Sage, Red Leaf Lettuce and then down front it's Oregano, Savory, Globe Basil and Basil Perpetua. There's also Parsley, Mint, Golden Oregano, Chives, Cilantro and my 'Nip (but that's on the porch so no other cat can have it but me.)Then she spent most of the day working on the Super Secret Project. Mr Karate came over and this was what Mom made him for dinner:Yes, that is HIS plate!
Sorry about the blurry areas in the picture. That's because Mom stuck her greasy finger on the camera lens.
To all of you who have the mistaken idea that the house is always NEAT, let me assure you that is not the case. When Mom does nothing but work in the sewing room, the rest of the house goes to pot.

Happy Memorial Day, Millie.
In Canada, we honour those who gave their lives for our freedoms, as well as those who served and who continue to serve, on Remembrance Day, November 11th.
That's what's for dinner here tonight!
Thanks to Mr Karate's dadbean for his service and dedication to our country, Millie! And that is one heck of a plate of food Mr. Karate has, Momma is getting very, very hungry ... hee hee!

My beans were in the dirt too yesterday, only mine was muttering: "Grow a tomato for July." What are they planning?
Mmmm, that's a big slab o' meat!
On this Memorial Day we're having a little BBQ with our own veterans today, representing the Korean Conflict and WWII to Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, but we're having chicken!
Yummy!!
Happy Memorial Day.
May we never forget.

Angus' Mom: My thanks to Mr. Karate's dad for the service he gave for many. I will never forget and ever honor him and all those who served for freedom's sake!
Angus: Miss Millie, did you get any of those yummy-lookin' meat bones from Mr. Karate's plate?
**drool**
I'd happily fly out and 'get rid' of all the green stuff for you...
Looks like good things being planted!
Happy Memorial Day!
